Quote:
You will make an introductory post and roll a 100-sided dice during your introductory post. This post is basically you walking onto the stage once more with your Pokemon in a Pokeball or next to you.

Then your opponent will do likewise, also rolling a 100-sided dice. Person with the highest roll goes first.

HP/Attack bonuses count if your Pokemon has them. Pokemon that cannot evolve any further have 1000 HP. Pokemon that can evolve one more time have 900 HP. Pokemon that can evolve two more times have 800 HP.

Now for every attack post, you roll one 6-sided dice which will let your opponent know how to react to your post. 1 = your attack misses, 2-5 = your attack hits for 100 damage, 6 = your attack hits for 200 damage. Even stuff that normally does not do damage - such as growl - will do a kind of unseen damage in that it will hurt your opponent's dignity or whatnot.

Super effective/resistance/immunity/whatever do not count. Although please don't say you punch a Ghost Pokemon in the face. That's just not elegant - try to make all attacks seem reasonable and keep beauty/grace/cuteness/etc in mind. Also try to humiliate your opponent if possible - you are making your own Pokemon look good and your opponent's Pokemon look bad!

At the end of every post, please include your Pokemon's HP.

After 5 posts from both sides (10 posts in total not including the intro posts), time will be called and the battle will end regardless of if a Pokemon has fainted or not. You will be scored on both how much damage you have done, your general performance throughout the battle (so RP your best!), and your creativity throughout the battle.

A response post from each side after the 10 damage posts in response to a KO or finished time is allowed to bring the battle to a culmination. Judges will post shortly after to let you know who won.

If you do not make a post within 24 hours (subjected to change) of your opponent's last post, you are automatically disqualified and your opponent wins the battle. We will then alert you of your next battle.

Dreidyn was always tense when waiting for the scores of the appeal round. She thought that Hyacinth did wonderfully, but it was up to the judges if they were to move on or not. She was holding her breath and her Volcarona when the scores were about to be announced, and to her absolute delight they were in second! With an incredible score! She squeezed Hyacinth even tighter and let out an excited cheer, much to the discomfort of the Pokemon. But Hyacinth knew how energetic her trainer could be and took the brief mishandling with a grain of salt.

Now came the battling portion. In some ways, this was harder than the routines, since Dreidyn couldn't plan every move that the opponent was going to make. But she knew she could rely on Hyacinth's instincts and aptitude for contests instead. As she walked out onto the stage with the Volcarona fluttering beside her, she could feel her own heart fluttering in anticipation for her opponent's appearance.

Gormlaith waited patiently for the scores to be announced while Rubidus just hung out next to her. When the scores were put up she gave a curt nod. Rubidus had done a good show and his score showed. Of course there were others out there who had done better but third was acceptable for his first show.

When the battling portion began she and her Delibird walked back onto the stage. Rubidus waddled next to her and continued on towards the center to do battle with a ..... Volcarona it appeared. She was very pretty but he wasn't about to let that stop him from trying to win.

Gormlaith decided to start off by making it so others couldn't see the opponent. She after all needed to make Rubidus shine. "Use Blizzard to start off." She called out.

Rubidus nodded and raised his wings while throwing back his head. His eyes glowed bright blue and soon snow began to fall and a wind began to howl. The snow fell thickest around Hyacinth obscuring her from view.

It looked like her opponent was starting with a direct attack, but Dreidyn and Hyacinth were not unprepared for this. Even as thick snow fell all around her, the giant moth Pokemon rode the roaring winds and managed to stay aloft and alert. Better yet, the way that the fierce gusts pummeled her drove her into a frenzy of sorts. As she maneuvered about the storm, her rainbow markings stood out against the white snow and she became a multi-colored figure that used the blizzard's strength to choreograph a wild dance.

It's not like she could keep up appearances, however, as the audience was surely anticipating her own moves. Dreidyn had the same idea and called out the next attack before Hyacinth tired herself from riding the storm.

"Fire Spin!" The trainer's command was clearly heard over the din of the blizzard. Flames formed in between Hyacinth's horns, right where the sun marking on her head was. The small fire then grew into a long ribbon that wrapped around the Volcarona's body like a cocoon. As Hyacinth curled up inside the fiery nest she had created, the snow outside was starting to melt away. As soon as the time was right, she spun her body and, with a flick of her wings, unleashed the Fire Spin that she was building up this entire time. It exploded like a blazing shock wave, with flames covering the entire stage in concentric rings.

Gormlaith was impressed with how the Volcarona used the blizzard to its own advantage. But just because she was impressed didn't mean she wasn't upset that the start had gone so badly already.

Rubidus was dodging the flame rings as they drew near him by flipping and jumping over them. However he was a little late going over one and his tail got a little burnt. He didn't cry out in pain but narrowed his eyes at Hyacinth. He needed a way to counter her Fire Spin. Unfortunately his ice beam wasn't strong enough to freeze it but his trainer did come up with another idea.

"Aurora Beam!" Gormlaith called out. Rubidus nodded and flipped over another ring. He then opened his beak and sent out a multicolored beam into the flames heading for him. It made the flames turn different colors as they circled around him, making him shine with color. The Aurora Beam covered the whole stage in rainbow colors as it traveled through the flames back to the source.

"Hyacinth! Use Gust! Draw up the water!" Dreidyn called out. The Volcarona gave her a sidelong glance, wondering how would water block the oncoming attack. But the Aurora Beam was zooming and she had to trust her trainer if she wanted to act quickly enough. Beating her wings to create strong winds, a twister rapidly formed and grew big enough to obscure her entire body from view. Pushing the Gust towards the ring of water, she made sure that it remained in between her and the rainbow attack while the tornado sucked up liquid from the lake.

When the Aurora Beam struck, some of pierced through the water and hit Hyacinth, causing her to falter momentarily. But she continued to fuel the tornado with furious flapping and water was able to absorb the rest of the aurora. It took on many colors from the beam it absorbed and her Gust became a multi-hued pillar of light that also casted Hyacinth in a brilliant glow. She did not let the spectacle linger long, however, as she wanted her retaliation to take her opponent by surprise. By angling her wings a little differently and beating them in a different pattern, she forced the water out of the twister with an even more potent blast of air and the rainbow water fell over Rubidus like a wave.

Rubidus was already in the air as he was trying to avoid the remains of the fire spin when the rainbow water came at him. He was battered back by the blast of air but the water never crashed over him. He needed no direction from his trainer on how to take care of the rainbow water wave. His beak opened up and soon a beam of light blue shot out towards the water.

The wave froze instantly and only a light drizzle of water remained to get Rubidus wet. He landed on the top of the wave and struck a surfing pose. "That's right! 'Surf' the frozen wave!" Gormlaith called out with a small smile. Rubidus soon began sliding down the back of the wave looking like he was surfing it. He headed in the direction of Hyacinth wandering what would be dished out next.

Hyacinth was surprised by the Delibird's sudden decision to surf and couldn't react fast enough to avoid him. She tried to float to the side but ended up being clipped in the wing when he collided into her. Although it didn't mar her appearances, it did send a twinge of pain everytime she flapped her wings. She tried her best to not let the injury show but Dreidyn, who was familiar with her Pokemon, could tell that their next move would have to be one that didn't involve excessive wing motions.

"Land on the wave and use Psychic! Break up the ice!" The Volcarona nodded and soared over to the frozen shape, which still glistened with the aurora trapped inside. She placed herself at the crest of the wave with spread her wings open so that they wouldn't be stuck in an uncomfortable position while she did this.

Hyacinth used a little bit of fire to melt the ice and dug her feet into the wave. As her eyes started glowing a bright purple, her foothold in the ice allowed her to force psychic energy through it. The power traveled through the weakest areas like water flowing through the earth and formed purple veins that crossed through the many colors of the frozen wave. She kept pouring energy into the ice until she was able to break off sharp chunks that she then levitated into the air. Each dagger was a different color, being chipped off of different parts, although they were all laced with Hyacinth's purple psychic energy. Sunlight that streamed through the stadium made them sparkle or shine with intense light, depending on where they were as they floated around the Volcarona. So with a nod of her head, she was able to create her own glistening but dangerous blizzard as she hailed the rainbow shards down on the Delibird.

Rubidus waddled off to the side after he was done with his little surfing session. He then turned to face Hyacinth. He eyed her warily when she landed on the frozen wave. "Be careful Rubidus..... try to obscure her vision!" Gormlaith called out. Even she wasn't sure what was about to happen.

Rubidus nodded ever so slightly and began to summon another Blizzard. He was a tad slow and ice daggers rained down on him. One scratched him while one stabbed his bag. It was like a wound to his heart having that bag of goodies stabbed. He stumbled back slightly with a cry of emotion and cradled the bag to him.

The Blizzard grew stronger until it blocked him from site and he flew over to one of the other rings to get away from the Volcarona. Figuring she hadn't moved he sent an Aurora Beam through the Blizzard like during his performance making it appear as if an actual aurora was in the sky.

The Blizzard's high winds rattled her injured wing and Hyacinth had to hold onto the ice with all her might to not get blown off. But she did not see the incoming Aurora beam that collided into her with enough force to launch her off of her perch. She was helplessly tossed and turned around in the Blizzard as her weak wings couldn't provide the stability she needed to dance through the weather. After being tustled about for a minute or two, she angled her good wing to steer herself towards the frozen wave. Although she hurt herself more by slamming into the ice face first, she was able to cling to it and not be blown about like a rag doll.

This battle had really shifted to her opponent's favor but Dreidyn wasn't going to give up now. They still had a few more rounds to turn this around. Even though wind-forming moves were definitely out of the question with Hyacinth's bad wing, they still had some tricks up their sleeves.

"Use Fire Spin! The Delibird's at 7 o clock!" She shouted over the Blizzard. The Volcarona's back was turned to Rubidus so she would need the direction in order to aim her next attack. A small ball of fire formed between her horns like last time and launched it up into a twirling spire. This time she focused on intensifying the heat so that as she became the center of the vortex, the Fire Spin melted the remaining ice and snow around her. The fiery storm was also hot enough to create its own turbulent winds and soon the once freezing stage was filled with hot steam and flames. Hyacinth had no choice but to fly once the frozen wave had melted away but the heat rejuvenated her enough so that she appeared strong and confident once more.

The Aurora beam that was once frozen was absorbed by the fire and gave Hyacinth's attack a rainbow tinge. It wasn't as vibrant as her cascading ice shards but it still had an ethereal feel to it, especially when the Volcarona gave it a draconic form before speeding it towards the enemy. The fiery dragon head was less discernible when she made the attack on the fly but there was no mistaking the fangs it bared as it threatened to consume the Delibird with its gaping, blazing mouth.

"Rubidus! I do believe it's present time!" Gormlaith shouted out! This was the last round of the battle and it needed to be good. Rubidus had been frozen in slight shock at the rainbow fire dragon coming at him. Hearing present time he sprang into motion.

He reached into his bag and pulled out a present. He raised it high as if presenting it to the crowd and the fire dragon. He then tossed it towards the dragon which appeared to open its mouth to eat it. Then he shot a beam of ice covering the present in thick ice. The ice formed into a larger present and the fire dragon ate it.

Rubidus then spun/tripped/rolled out of the way but was slightly burned. Suddenly the present exploded and the ice present covering it shattered. It destroyed the fire dragon and sent some ice shards flying towards Hyacinth.

"Quickly! Use Light Screen!" Dreidyn shouted out, but not before Hyacinth was caught in the explosion. Although the Present's blast left her dazed, she was still able to cast up a shield of light that guarded her from the trailing ice shards. They shattered harmlessly against the barrier and sparkling dust floated in the air where they impacted.

Now they needed a final move that would top Rudibus's spectacular attack. Dreidyn was short on ideas since they had been pulling no stops throughout the entire battle. Her mind spun through thought after thought and nothing seemed good enough, until she settled on a combo move that should hopefully provide the bang that they needed.

"Ok! Hyacinth, use Light Screen around yourself!" The Volcarona complied and surrounded herself in a shimmering sphere of light. She had also accidentally-on-purpose enclosed the glittering dust from the broken ice shards in her sphere so that she shone even more as sunlight struck the psychically formed crystal. It didn't matter if she had included that extra detail, however, since the next part of the attack would render it moot.

"And now, Fire Spin!" Dreidyn said in a dramatic sort of way. Hyacinth's wings began to shed embers that swirled around her inside the sphere. She was creating the fiery attack in a different way since she was planning to achieve a very different result. It looked like a snow globe inside of her Light screen, if the wind-tossed snow was fire instead. Then she started diving at the Delibird, still churning up the flames, until at the last moment she slammed headfirst into the top of the sphere. It was as if a butterfly was emerging from the cocoon in an explosion of fire, scattering embers around her as she soared up and then finally ridding herself from the fire that clung to her at the zenith of her flight. But she hadn't forgotten about her fiery globe, now turned into a bomb that was flung towards Rubidus. It bursted open upon impact, spilling forth the spinning flames as well as psychic shards that once made up the Light Screen.

Rubidus was happy with his finale but was shocked to see what the Volcarona do. He flew out of the way of the bomb but he wasn't far enough to escape damage from it. A few flames licked his tail and the psychic shards scratched him. He landed on another ring and spun around to face Hyacinth.

Before he could do anything else the bell rang signalling the end of the battle portion. He bowed to Hyacinth and the crowd before flying over to Gormlaith. "Good job Rubi." She whispered before waving to the cheering crowd. Apparently they liked the overall performance and it didn't seem that they had a particular favorite between the two contestants. It was time to see what the judges thought about the battle and Gormlaith was anxious to see who would move on.
