Rounding the corner, Eli tried to stamp down his anxious feelings. Every few minutes he sent out a flickering pulse of light, and that made him feel better, but eventually it would fade, leaving him in the darkness of these caves. Not that he was scared, pfft, don't be ridiculous - this just wasn't his natural environment, and it required that he stay cautious. If any more than two Rock types engaged him, there was a high chance it'd end with him passing out.

And then how in the heck would he get out of here?

At first, it hadn't seemed like a big deal. Chasing down that Zubat who'd had the audacity to taunt him had taken the Luxray all of ten minutes, and the battle a fraction of that. He just... hadn't planned on pursuing the bloodsucker so deep into the mountain's belly. He cursed quietly, smacking his tail against a cool wall of stone. Next time, he'd end the confrontation quicker - this was his fault for letting his anger get the better of him. Now he'd been wandering around for who knows how long (it felt like hours) and it only felt like he was wrapping himself deeper in the web of caves. Eli was tired, but he wasn't giving up. Not like he could sleep in a creepy place like this anyway, with no stars or moon to keep him company.

Around another corner, through a tight passage, and up a small cliff face, and suddenly Eli was faced with a fork in the path that looked all too familiar. He stopped, ears pulled back as he looked critically between his two options, scouring the rock for any sort of hint. His instinct was always spot on, so he knew that he'd been this way before...
"Left," he decided. Loitering for too long was asking for trouble - also something that he didn't have much practice in. Held held high, he marched down the tunnel, red eyes carving through the darkness to the best of their ability. His heart swelled for the first time as he noticed a few claw marks he'd left on his way in, and when he noticed that odd stalagmite formation that looked like a fist, he knew he was on the right track. All of his trepidation vanished instantly; of course this stupid labyrinth couldn't contain the greatness that was him! Eli was practically strutting as he rounded the last corner. He could already smell the fresh, cool air of the glade he called home. This was a piece of c-

"What the..." Th-This wasn't the way out. Well, it was; squinting close, he could see the grass that lay just beyond a stupid freaking wall of rock that blocked his way. A rockslide had fallen while he'd been lost on his adventure. He'd managed to navigate his way back, only to get sucker-punched by the mountain. Eli's frustration peaked, and with a snarl he dove at the rocks, lashing and kicking at them furiously. The sounds of his anger echoed deep throughout the caves. "Evil- stupid- mountain! Let me out, dang it, let! Me! Out!"
