Ebony hadn't seen much of the buck since before he became an outskirter, and honestly had only met him once when he was still a kitten. But something about him had made an impression on the feisty doe, and after the difficult raids and the harsh winter, with rabbits disappearing right and left... She'd let well enough alone for more than long enough, hadn't she? She'd heard bits about what had happened on that other raid so long before, and he'd all but made a hermit of himself after in the scrapes. It was obvious he wasn't really getting better being left alone, and once the notion had occurred to Ebony it hadn't let her go. She had to go out and make sure he was... still there. And she was not just going to let him alone this time. Crow was in for a different sort of fight than the one that had driven him to solitude, and one he'd have more luck at evading if he
was faced with an elil! Ebony was nothing if not stubborn.
With new spring growth starting to set in she'd felt no qualms about snagging one of the nicer roots she and her siblings had stored for the winter and not gotten into yet, and set out with it toward the scrapes. The black and silver doe was going to go hunt Crow down, give him a present, and remind him that he was still alive. As long as he... was. She sincerely hoped he was. She'd hate to have to bring that news back to poor Althea. The Owsla doe had more than enough on her paws of late and would probably blame herself if Crow had joined Inle' with no one noticing.
He'd
better be out here, or she'd find a way to give him a piece of her mind in Beyond anyway! Just you watch.
