For once, Pickles was not searching through the bins for leftovers.
He had found half a burger, which he was chewing on absently, but that wasn't the main reason he was there. He was looking for adventure supplies.
Recently he'd heard chatter on campus about super special magic items. And he had a ton of semi-magic items, because he could make them magic (for a little while) but last night he'd had a dream.
A dream about an island.
He'd known immediately he'd have to go there. But he'd need some important supplies. Sunglasses, especially, but he couldn't even find a broken pair. There was a bit of newspaper. He supposed if he was very clever about the folding...

Whaaaat was that boil doing? Sibyl blinked and just watched the funny clothed boil go through the trash. Did he lose something? Did something happen? Was there treasure? She had taken one look in the trash bins and found nothing terribly interesting so it couldn't be treasure...
"What are you doing?"

"NoOTHING!" Pickles squeaked on instinct, grabbing what he could and preparing to make a dash at what he assumed was a Teacher or Boogeyman.
"O...oh," he said, relaxing and going back to rifling. It was just a kid! A small kid! His age, even!
"I'm getting ready for an adventure," he said proudly.

"Can I help?" If he was doing nothing she wanted to help him do something! New friend acquired.
But then he said the magic word..
Adventure.
Sibyl's eyes practically lit up with excitement. "Adventure?" She asked in an awed, hushed tone. It was as if the ghoul was worried speaking any louder would get them caught by a villain or something.

"Sure!" Pickles announced, pulling the newspaper out and closing one eye thoughtfully as he looked her over.
He folded the paper up in a flash, and after a few careful manipulations here and there, had made a Captain's Hat out of it. He plopped it down between Sibyl's ears.
"You can be the brave Captain," he said, and shaking out his own dusty wizard's hat and pulling it inside out, it transformed into an exaggerated swoopy hat with awards dangling off it. "And I'll be the Admiral. And together we'll explore the Singing Isles and bring back fortune and fame to our respective countries."
He nicked one last thing from the garbage.
"It's very nice to meet you, Captain. What do they call you? Where do you hail from?"

Sibyl made an awed sound as she watched the boil with the paper, squealing excitedly when it was placed on her head like a hat and she was deemed Captain. Like a sea captain!? Awesome! Ahhh! And his hat! His hat was so cool! "The Singing Isles?! That sounds fun!" Was it real?! She wanted to see! She did, she did!
"I'M SIBYL~! And I...uh.." She blinked. "Hail..?"

"Like where you come from," he whispered behind his hand, and then louder, "I'm Pickles!"
He took her hand and shook it vigorously.
"I hail from," he paused as he made up a place, "Cafeteria, a land where our queen guards our stores with her fierce and terrifying magics."
He waited for her introduction eagerly.

Oh! That made sense. Sibyl grinned and shook hands, coming up with something as well. Marzena did always say not to give away exactly where their home was...so..she'd make one up. "I hail from the icy waters of the northern oceans! No fierce sea storm or dangerous predators can scare me!"
Was that okay? Did she do good? Yespleaseyes?

"Awesome!" Pickles enthused, taking her arm with his and steering her away from the garbage can and away from the school. "Okay, now I gotta brief you about the mission. ...Or the dream I had anyway."

"YESYESYESTELLMETELLMETELLME~!" Sibyl squealed and clapped her hands, fixing her hat when it almost fell off her head as she turned along with Pickles. Where was he taking her? To Adventure?!

"Okay! So in the dream like, FIRST we go to the forest at the edge of the school. And there will be these DOORS to another world. Only not literal doors. And I know it was a real dream because I'm a Sorceror okay and I know. So anyway once we're there, we'll find a beach and a jungle and in the middle of that is this old temple place and up there," Pickles took a breath, because he'd been talking nonstop,
"is what I'm supposed to be looking for."

Sibyl listened intently, hanging on to Pickles' every word. Forest, doors, a beach?! SHE COULD DO A BEACH! Her eyes got wider and wider with each new place he was saying they'd be going to. Oh wow! Oh wow! Oh wow!
"Are we going to find treasure?! LET'S GO! I WANNA GO YESSS THIS SOUNDS AWESOME!"

"Yes!" Pickles said, unable to keep himself from an excited little hop, "a treasure! Waiting for the right person and calling on them. Oh! I bet there's one for you too. That's probably why we met. Because it's meant to be."
