Thulani gazed at the land that his father was part of a pride. He was a little uncertain about lions and hyenas living together in the same lands. After all hyenas stole the food that lionesses took down. So why would lions allow hyenas to live with them? He gazed back to see where his siblings were. Since he was the eldest it was his duty to make sure that all of them made it to their father in one piece. So far Thulani had made sure that his siblings had made it this far without any incident. But after they crossed into the pride's territory he wasn't sure what was going to happen. All he could do was pray that no lion would attack them and that their father would be waiting for them on the other side of the territory line.

Kirisame did not really understand the journey that her siblings and her were taking, but all that she knew was that her father was in the lands ahead of them. Giggling, the hyena bounced around her eldest brother, Thulani, with delight. "Do you think that we will be his favorites?" She beamed with pride, knowing that with her energy, members of her to-be pride were bound to notice her. What about her father though? Would he even care about them? What if he did not even want them once he saw them?
She shook her head frustrated. She did not know her father, and he did not know her. What did he even look like? Already, Kirisame felt the notions to run away, and to be with her mother forever - the one that actually stood by her side for this long - rather than go with her father that she had no relation with.
