in-thread logs Nyh Trygger: Who doesn't like to play? [Peeks around at the other] 'Ello there! Nice to meet you! Pandah Sanuye: *Smiles at Tryggr* Oh, hi! Nice to meet you as well...Umm, what was your name? *blinks politely* Nyh Tryggr: [Laughs and shakes his head] Sorry! My name's Tryggr. Pandah Sanuye: *Laughs with him* Tryggr. *Nods* Nice to meet you. My name is Sanuye! Nyh Tryggr: Well that's a nice name! Are you new around these parts? Haha, just escaped my basket a few days ago! XD Pandah Sanuye: I'm...pretty new. *Looks around and then back at Tryggr with an excited smile* Hey! Me too! *Feels better knowing she's not the only foal who's just come out of the basket* Nyh Tryggr: Oh really? It was a nice change, that's for sure! I wonder if our parents know eqch other? Although.... I did kinda of wander to far today. n_n; Pandah Sanuye: Ya! It's a lot easier to move around now! *Stretches a leg and giggles* They might! *Judging by his colors she knows he's probably not a member of her herd*...I wandered a little far as well. *Looks back in the other direction a little hesitantly but shakes it off and smiles at Tryggr* What are you doing out and about? :3 Nyh Tryggr: Oh yes, it was getting way too cramped in there! [Flicks his tail and peers around to make sure he's still close to home] Oh please don't tell on me! I was just following a silly raccoon and before I knew it I was here. Pandah Sanuye: *eyes widen* Why would I tell on you? What's a raccoon? *peeps nervously and looks around for said unknown beast* Nyh Tryggr: [Bends his ears back curiously] Ehh, I guess I just assumed that! Well then, I won't tell if ya don't. [coughs, embarrassed now] Oh, a raccoon? Mama told me they are safe enough...sorta like fat squirrels. Really fat. Oh, and they have these crazy circles on their tails, and their faces almost look like a mask. x,x Pandah Sanuye: I won't tell. I promise. *Smiles and gives an awkward wink* Fat squirrels. *Giggles* *Eyes him up and down at the mention of their masklike faces* Are you part raccoon? :0 Nyh Tryggr: Awesome! Thank you so much! [Still keeps his ears on alert, just in case his mom or dad holler for him to return.] Heh, yeah go figure. They can still run and climb really fast though. [Chuckles before blinking owlishly, then almost hiccuping a sob] A....are you calling me fat? ;~; Pandah Sanuye: No problem! *Smiles but then stops when he sobs suddenly* Oh, no! I only meant that the dark colors around your eyes almost look like a mask. Although I suppose if we're comparing you to a squirrel you might be fatter than one of those...But I'm not calling you fat! *nuzzles him in hopes of comforting him, worried she's hurt his feelings and has lost her first ever friend* Nyh Tryggr: [Sniffles awkwardly as the other continues talking, not sure how to feel.] @~@ Yeah, but my mask is nowhere near as creepy as those raccoons! And I know I'm bigg- [Oofs as the other nearly rushes him in a nuzzle] Omg. You're as tiny as a squirrel, compared to my sister. 8'o Pandah Sanuye: Of course it's not. Your mask is...*doesn't want to call it pretty, doesn't want to say anything that would make him feel girly*....very uncreepy. You're big, especially compared to me...But you're not fat! You have a sister, too? I have two! *Smiles excitedly and tries to change the subject because she feels so bad* Nyh Tryggr: Yeah? Well that's good news! On both details. [pulls himself together with a sigh, before tilting his head] Really? That's awesome! I have a brother too, but they're both so fun. Especially when it's bed time, but we're not tired so we just chat when our parents aren't looking. x3 Pandah Sanuye: *Nods and feels better now* I wish I had a brother my age. I have older brothers, but they're...old. Sometimes I wish I had someone else to play with...But I love my family, we have lots of fun. Especially when my parents aren't looking. *Grins* Do you play hide and seek? Nyh Tryggr: Hm, can't say there is much difference, to be honest? Just depends on the attitude of the siblings. Whaaa? [leans forward and bumps his nose on her shoulder] Do you mean your sisters don't play? At all? [chuckles] Of course I do! I'm playing it right now with my parents...I suppose. 8'D Pandah Sanuye: Oh no, we play lots and lots! *hops up and down a little but then looks back in the direction of her family and suddenly misses them* Me too. *Giggles a little* Would you like to meet them? *Grins excitedly* My sisters would love you! *Not sure about how her parents would feel however*

A laugh bubbles from his throat, and he can't help but stomp in a giddy circle. "Thank goodness for that! No need to be boring straight from the basket. But being old? I didn't realize that was a problem. Eh, but I guess adults do seem more serious on things than we do." Tryggr paused then, wondering if they'd end up like that too some day. Did growing up really mean you'd become less fun too? That couldn't be true! "We can't let that happen..." Why, he'd have to warn his siblings too about this! Then they could plan days of adventure and play, so to not risk becoming a tired and boring adult in the future.
Turning to face his attention back at Sanuye, he couldn't help but quirk a brow. "What now? Aren't I here to play with? Or you don't play with rac-coons? Eh?" He smiled to show it was a simple tease, before giving a thoughtful glance where she had looked. It didn't look far, but he had a strong feeling that he couldn't just go crossing so many hills without his parent's permission. "That would be fun! And you could meet my siblings too, I'm sure they wouldn't mind at all! Just gotta ask mom n' dad, you know how that goes. x3

"Adults have lots of things to do, so they can't play as much," she said, thinking of the responsibilities that came with being an adult. "How can we stop it from happening Tryggr?" she asked curiously, genuinely concerned with the matter. "I suppose now that I've met someone who is part raccoon I'll play with them more often," she giggled, bumping him with her behind. He didn't move much, he was bigger than her so her bump had little affect on the colt.
"Yes, parents are protective. Another reason adults can be boring," she giggled again. She could understand why her parents were protective. Being one of the only three foals of the herd, it was obvious why she needed to be watched over more closely than other foals might. She knew they were probably searching for her now. "I would love to meet your siblings. I like making friends...although, you're my first outside of the herd." If her face were not so darkly colored there would be evidence of a blush on her cheeks, but she was glad it did not show. She was usually not so explorative when it came to leaving her family behind. She loved them and all the comforts and love they gave her. But in this case she was glad she had left, because now she had a friend. She wondered what mom and dad would think if she brought him home to play...

"Eh? But are they things that they choose to do? Or are there things that they are forced to do. Sounds kinda lame to me." He snorted at the topic, wishing for anything but to think of his parents as 'lame'. No way, they were totally cool! So, maybe it didn't happen to all adults? Ugh, too confusing. And the question from the filly wasn't helping on the matter. "Who knows? Maybe since I'm part raccoon, I won't age as fast?" 8P
The other attempted to bump him, and the young boy could only chuckle under his breath at the action. It was entertaining, considering it was nowhere near as rough n' tumble as his brother was. "Don't be falling over now! Geez." He waited until she was upright again, before stretching his legs and marching forward a bit to explorethis new hill. He might as well enjoy it before his parents would make him return home, right? "Well then maybe that's the reason. Just don't become a parent! If ya see a basket, just walk awaaay." And Tryggr nodded firmly, thinking it made perfect sense. Why, just look at him! No wonder his parents could feel old and boring, spending so much time keeing an eye on him and his siblings!
"Although, that does sound kinda mean when I think about it." Glancing back at Sanuye, he gave a half-hearted shug to show his confusion on the whole matter. "Too bad we all can't just leavethe basket and stay little forever." Then he beamed a grin, not aware of his ghastly features and more hurrying to move on to more cheery topics. "Is that so! Haha, it's the same for me too actually! I'll try no to be jealous then, when my sister meets ya! I'm sure she'd love to pull you aside and play girly, sisterly games." He could already see it now, but either way it'd be a fun time just to have someone new around.

"I think it's things they have to do...they're not forced, but it's what's right, so they have to," she nodded, that must be it, "can you make me part raccoon? I want to age slower, too." She smiled and followed him up the hill. She had seen it in the distance at home, but had never ventured towards it until today.
"But what if it's your basket? I don't think I could abandon family," she said glancing over her shoulder once again, feeling a pull towards home. She shook it off. She would have to become more independent someday, wouldn't she? This was a good starting point. "I suppose if we all left the basket and stayed little there would never be any more of us..." she said, more to herself than him.
She felt better that she was his first friend as well. His relaxed attitude made her feel less embarrassed to be so new to the world. "I think I'd want to get away from girly, sisterly games," she grinned, shrugging slightly. She and her sisters didn't have a style of games, they were never girly or boyish really. There were times they got dirty, and times they barely got a scratch from their play. But she was glad to have a male friend her age to play with now and she smiled excitedly at Tryggr. She stepped carefully up the hill, her legs were still a little shaky and she often fell or stumbled if she moved too fast. She supposed that eventually she would grow accustomed to the length of her legs, but it seemed they grew faster than the rest of her and it seemed they grew every day. "What do you think is on the other side?" she asked excitedly, her imagination going wild at the thought of seeing something new.

Tryggr sighed with a curbed lip, letting the air breeze over his messy locks. It was so much to be confused over, so why did this girl sound so calmly about it? Did her parents already discuss these things with her? "But then...are all the right things always so urgent? Or dull?" Now he wasn't a kid that minded taking on responsibilities. No sir! But maybe it was a combination of both those duties and older bones that made adults become so boring? Tired? Ugh, it was too difficult to guess.
Giving a soft laugh, the boy nudged his friend with his shoulder as they walked. "Sorry, but no can do! Being part squirrel is a super rare, and super awesome gift in my family. You can grow the silver mane first, my treat to you." He gave a sheepish grin, hoping she didn't take his childish jabs too close to heart. After all, he was only used to joking with his siblings and knowing their limits. Maybe Sanuye herself would not appreciate those same antics? He stuttered then, brows going sky-high at her question. It was enough of a surprise for him to not notice when Sanuye peered back home, and himself mindlessly continuing his stroll. "Woah now, first off. IF I did find a basket or get one, I wouldn't let the poor Soqu stay cramped in there too long. I'd pop it open and holler 'freedooom!' before letting him or her go on her merry way. Total opposite of abandoning, right?"
Slowing his pace, he waiting patiently for her to climb the hill with him. Not to mention his own legs would wobble now and then from the slope beneath his hooves. "Really? I assumed that's what all fillies wanted. Girly, flowery moments to just blahblahblah." Then he frowned a bit, another thought crossing his mind. "Although it's not a bad thing, if you wouldn't mind. I can't really play around like other boys, just cause...you know." He cross-eyed as he peered above his brow to the set of horns resting there. "Wouldn't want to accidentally hurt anyone. But hey, they would look nice with flowers around 'em too, right?" x3 Finally resting near the top of the hill, the dark colt peered around with squinted eyes. Wow that was a lot of land. "Who knows? My parents like to wander alot, so I'm sure I'll find out soon. Same for you, right?"

"Well...I think the right things can be both dull and urgent. Maybe?" she pondered. How could things be exciting and boring at the same time? This conversation was going way over her head, and it had to be going over his and he was taller than her! Her face crumpled into a contemplative frown until he spoke again."Well, your mane is close to silver already though," she said, noting the purple tint of his hair and laughing, teasing him ever so slightly. She could tell he could take anything she threw at him by the way he talked to her. Except for being called fat...he hadn't liked that. What a confusing colt he was. Were all others outside of the herd like this?
"That is the opposite of abandoning," she said, nodding her approval, "if I get a basket, I'll do the same." It seemed so logical to her that she didn't even try to doubt it. Part of her couldn't help wondering what life would be like if her parents had done that with her, but she pushed those thoughts back.
She cocked a head, examining his horns and imagining flowers on them. They didn't seem so dangerous at that thought and she immediately giggled, looking to the ground so as not to embarrass him. As she did so she saw a dandelion growing from the side of the hill. It must have been the first of the season because it had been so cold lately that she hadn't really seen any. She didn't blame the little flowers for not growing. But even though this must have been the first, she bent down to pluck it with her mouth and stood on her tippy-hooves to reach to his largest horn and secure the dandelion there. "There, you look lovely," she smiled and giggled some more, prancing ahead of him a bit on the hilltop to get a better look and stumbling slightly.
"My parents are part of a herd. We don't travel very much. Where do you travel to?" she asked curiously. She couldn't imagine getting much farther from home. The thought sort of scared her.

Sheesh, who knew there'd be so many things to consider once the basket lid popped open? Tryggr had assumed it would be more adventure with the world around him, and not the conflicting thoughts within his own mind. "Well, they must be really 'right' to make it worth the energy." Then he flared his pale tail and lifted his chin with pride. "Haha, maybe. But it still doesn't count since there is definitely color. Just....super light!"
Catching a breeze along the hill's slope, Tryggr tilted his head and twitched his nose. Something sweet-smelling was in the air; pungent and tart like the berries he had shared with his siblings the other day. Maybe there were some around this area too? He could go for a small snack right now, and perhaps Sanuye was hungry too? "I'm sure we don't have to worry about baskets until we're adults anyways. I don't know about you, but I don't see any just sitting around or falling from the sky to worry about." Such was the logic of a youth who thought baskets were an item simply stumbled upon, like a magical bee hive or something else just as fantastical.
A laugh drew his attention back to his friend, one of his brows lifting curiously. Eh, had he made a joke and not noticed it? But before he could even ask, Sanuye had looked away. Bwah, was something on his face?? Lifting a front leg, Tryggr brushed his knee across his nose with a sniffle just in case. Besides, he was still adjusting to all the smells of this new world, and sometimes it could be overwhelming to his senses! Noticing the other wander away, he dropped his leg to casually follow along. "Hey, I thought we wanted to stay on the hill? It wasn't easy to climb after a-" Tryggr was such a chatterbox, he nearly bumped into Sanuye as she turned around, suddenly in his space and tickling his ears. "Wait, whu?" Oh, a flower! "Haha, why thank you Miss!" Hopefully it didn't fall out too soon!
"A herd, what's that?" Tryggr frowned slightly, not used to the term his friend just used. Was that another adult thing? "Hm, can't say I know for certain! Mom and dad always decide where we will go. Sometimes it's sightseeing, and other times it's just to search for fresh food."

"Maybe adults are given magical powers so that it's less stressful..." she pondered, becoming excited at the idea of someday acquiring magical powers. She smiled and nodded at his "super light" purple tail and then looked at the sky, suddenly feeling weary of falling baskets. She squinted and flinched slightly when she thought she saw one, but closer inspection showed her that it was just a cloud that was shaped like a basket.
What is a herd? Her face crumpled into a frown again as she thought of how to describe it to her new friend. "It's like...a really big family. There are lots of us, and we all travel together if we go anywhere," she nodded, yes that was the right way to put it. She looked up at him, trying not to giggle at his flowery horn. "You could be a part of it if you wanted!" she suggested excitedly. She would love to take him home. Mommy can we keep him? But she knew he had his own family and his own places to go. That thought made her a little sad, and she didn't completely understand why.
"Tryggr...if you travel, does that mean I won't see you again?" she asked. She had only just met him, but at the same time: she had only just met him. She didn't want to lose a friend after just getting one, that would make her very sad. She blinked her big, orange eyes at him, anxiously waiting for an answer.

Just then, Tryggr's eyes widened and nearly glittered at Sanuye's suggestion. (Although it might have been a creepy sight on his pale face!) M...magical powers?! How cool would that be! "Ohmygosh, what if that were true? Now I can't wait to grow up and find out!" 8D There was no way he'd be boring then, if he was always searching for magic.
Peering at the sky as well, the colt tried his best to squint against the bright midday sun. It wasn't too successful. "Uuuugh, way too bright outside. Or is that just me?" New lesson in life, don't peek at the sun. No matter how tempting! "So...it's just a fancy word for family? Well, I have one of those too then. Just not so large. Only my parents and siblings." He shrugged casually, before cracking a smile. "Haha, but I'm not your brother, silly! Unless it's....a mix matched family?" 8o That sounded like fun! Much better than being bored with no one else to talk to, especially when it was nap time. >u "I...is there like....a secret password I need to know?"
Wincing open an eye after the glare finally disappeared, Tryggr attempted to look over at his friend. She sounded worried, but he couldn't see why or how. "Eh? I...guess that's what it means." Oops, was that the wrong answer? It did sound terribly depressing, but unless he could beg his parents otherwise, there was nothing he could do about it. Sweat-dropping at the face Sanuye was giving him, he bumped his nose against her own. "Hey now, it's only a travel! But home is home, I'll be back. No doubt!" Then he nodded to the side of the hill, where the scent of berries seemed to be the strongest. "Anyways, why don't we go have a snack instead? No need to be sad when we just escaped our baskets!"

His expression made her eyes widen as well, "Let's grow up right now!" she said, hopping up and down excitedly. Magic powers would be the best ever! Responsibilities were surely no problem when magic had it all covered. She felt better about growing up now, and her tiny bit of jealousy towards her older siblings was renewed. She would have to ask Chetan for some of his magic powers later.
"I don't think there's a secret password," she said, giggling. It was definitely not a mix matched family. Not really. Everyone was orange or red, he would stick out like a sore thumb. But she was sure he would gain the approval of the herd easily. He was too nice to not be accepted as part of the family. Still, she giggled at the thought of seeing him thrown in among the sea of orange in her family.
She sniffed slightly and smiled at him, reassured by the idea that he would be back. "You're right...I smell berries! Do you, Tryggr?" she asked, looking in the direction he was indicating towards, her nose in the air and her nostrils flaring at the alluring scent. She stepped carefully on the slope of the hill and peeked around curiously to find the yummy plump treats. She slipped a little as she leaned, but corrected herself quickly and laughed at herself as she did.
"It would be lots of fun to roll down this hill, don't you think?" she looked back at him with an excited grin. Of course, they had worked hard to get up here and she wanted some berries first, but it would definitely be a faster way to get down. More fun too! She hoped he would try it with her, but something told her he would be just as eager as she was.

Trygger passed a grin to his friend, all too curious about what types of magic there were. Would they only have one power? Or two? Ugh, he simply couldn't wait to find out! Unless it was just the magic power to get big. 8C Because...that would be a lame power just to show that you're older. Booor-ing!
Pinning his small ears back, the boy considered Sanuye's words carefully. But what if there was a password? So secret, that not even she knew of it! And then he'd be so embarrassed if he couldn't get it right, in front of all the strangers in her herd! Dx; It was enough of a nervous thought to make him fluster. "A...are you sure about that now? Not try to trick me, are ya?"
Ah, so she could smell the tempting berries too! Giving a jolly nod, the colt bounced around to face where the smell was coming from, pointing with his chin. Again. Maybe he was hungrier than he first thought. "I sure do! But I'm not certain what kind they are." 8o W...wait. Roll down the hill?
That sounded like...
so. much. FUN! *~*
"I think that'd be awesome! Eeeee!" The boy skirted at the edge of the hill, glancing down as if it was a giant canyon that they were challenging. "Oh, but you go first! Just so I don't bump into ya along the way." n_n;

She winked at him awkwardly, "I don't know, you'll have to find out." She giggled at his worried expression. Of course she would never trick anyone, especially him, but it was funny to let him think she might for a little while. She was sure he would know she was joking, but then again he had taken being called fat pretty seriously. "I'm only joking," she added, just in case. She smiled and pranced after him, giggling as he pointed towards the berries. She watched his eyes widen at her suggestion and she hopped a little with excitement.
Go first? Her excitement drained a little at the thought. What if she got hurt? The hill looked a little bigger now that she looked at it. "Can....can you go first?" she asked, a little hesitantly. She didn't want to look like a sissy, but if he went first she'd surely be braver. She supposed that was what happened to little sisters. She was just used to others going first. She blinked at Tryggr hopefully, her eyes widening and her bottom lip protruding slightly. "Pleeease Tryggr?" she asked.

Le gasp! Goodness, his new friend was such a tease. Thankfully Trygger was just as lighthearted, and took it all in stride. "Eh...I figured as much. Maybe. Kinda?" He chuckled as he peered back down the hill to their goal. It didn't look all that far away, but all the same his legs twitched as he trotted along the grass. Intentional or not, a fall was a fall after all! And it was the daring moment of letting yourself go that he was still be stifled and hesitant with.
"Whaaaa? Me?!" His mane bristled, and the boy sighed loudly and dramatically. Well this certainly did nothing to help calm his nerves. Hm. Flicking his tail, the boy couldn't help but pace now, going back and forth enough to almost cause a worn trail in the grass. "Shoulda seen this coming. Not that I'm complaining. Nope, nope!" A goofy grin was tossed at his friend, letting her know he wasn't at all mad. It was just his way of building up confidence, and a short motivational speech helped the process. "Besides, I'd be in biiiiig trouble if you went first and got hurt. Although you are lighter to drag to help if that were the case." And then the boy paused while humming as if deep in thought and actually considering that option. If nothing more then to just tease Sanuye with the idea.
But her pleading had him stop with a "Fiiiine." Taking a deep breath, Trygger locked his legs to get ready for takeoff. "Well, here it goes!" And with that, the boy charged forward and leapt from the crest of the hill. A squeak could be heard (though he'd deny it!) and the young colt curled in for a barrel roll down the shallow hill. And a short travel it was! Before Trygger knew it, he was unfolding on the lush grass at the end, shaking out his mane and gathering back his senses.
"Hahaaaa! That was a blast, Sanuye! Now it's your turn!"

She had paced herself, watching him tumble down the hill worriedly. It sure did look painful. Her eyes were wide as she watched him slow to a stop at the end of the hill, waiting nervously to hear that he was ok. What if he wasn't? She'd sent him to his death. But when his head rose and his face revealed a smile she hopped joyously. He was ok! And he said it was fun. Still, she edged down the hill carefully. She wasn't going to leap into it as he had done, no sir. He was silly, but she admired his bravery. Carefully, she laid down on her side and then with one last look towards Tryggr she went tumbling down the hill after him.
Thump thump thump. The colors of the sky blended with the green of the grass, but it was fun! She got to the bottom at last, it seemed like it had taken forever. She blinked at Tryggr, or rather, what appeared to be three Tryggrs. "Did your brother and sister show up?" she asked, falling back down when she dizzily tried to get up. When her vision came back into focus she giggled, "Oh, it's only you. That was fun!" She would have wanted to do it again, but she didn't want to walk back up the hill.
"Now what?" she asked him curiously.
