Gormlaith stood just off stage smoothing her dark red and white dress. It seemed to look like a winter or Christmas dress which seemed odd considering the season but it did match her pokemon. When her name was called she glided onto the stage from the north side and paused at the first ring. “Alright Rubidus! Let’s give them a great ice show and tell your story!” She called tossing the seal encased pokeball into the air. Out of the pokeball appeared a Delibird in a shower of white flower petals making it appear as if Rubidus was in the middle of a snow shower. After flipping in the air he landed on the ground next to Gormlaith with his bag slung over his shoulder.

“Okay. Let’s cool this place down with a small Blizzard!” Gormlaith called. Rubi nodded and raised his wings after setting his bag down. His eyes glowed a faint blue and soon snow began to fall and the temperature began to drop. It was time for the next part of the show.

“Alright now let’s set the stage! Ice beam a path for you to skate on!” Gormlaith said. Yes Rubi was going to be ice skating and showing off his beauty and skills that way. The Delibird couldn’t dance and couldn’t sing. However he could ice skate which was quite surprising. Rubi heard the command and covered half of the outer ring in ice. He then began to skate around and he circled the outer ring continuing to cover it in ice. He then made a tree sculpture on the northwest part of the stage. He made more trees making it seem like the outer ring was a small forest save for one area: the southeast part only had one tree.

From there he made an ice bridge to the middle ring and skated across. He covered more of the ring in more ice so he’d be able to skate. He again made the northwest area of the middle ring look like a forest by ice beaming more tree sculptures into existence. He then leapt to the middle of the stage and covered it in ice before landing. From there he entered into a layback spin and then exited the spin with a flourish and skated off. Then he ice beamed the stage again to make sure there was enough ice.

He skated around the center and did a spread eagle. He then made another path to the middle ring and began to gain speed. He skated back towards the center and jumped across one of the open gaps. As he did he made himself spin and did a double axel. He landed with easy and went straight to the other side. He jumped across and skated around the middle ring. As he skated he shot an ice beam towards the center creating something. He leaped towards the outer ring leaving a small pine tree ice sculpture sitting in the center.

He then shot an ice beam at the middle ring’s ‘forest’ creating some small Smoochum ice sculptures. He skated to the opposite side and did a Cantilever with his wings just grazing the ice. Once at the opposite side he leapt to the outer ring and ice beamed a lone Teddiursa next to the lone tree. He began skating backwards and after he picked up some speed entered another spin going from a sitting spin to an upright spin. After he exited it he created several Pichu ice sculptures near the outer ring’s forest before skating on.

He skated around the outer ring, jumping over the Teddiursa sculpture, and jumped to the middle ring. He quickly leapt again going to the center. He then began another spin and after he exited it skated around the small pine tree. He fired more ice at it making it into a bigger pine tree and then created a Delibird sitting under it. He then crossed back to the middle and then created a Stantler and Ponyta near the tree. He leapt to the outer ring, doing another double axel. He stopped next to Gormlaith and picked up his bag.

“Rubi! ” She said loudly, “I do believe that the pokemon of the forest are waiting for their presents!” Rubi nodded with a soft, “Deli delibird!” Then he was skating off towards the Pichu group. As he drew close he reached into his bag pulling out a wrapped present. Then he was jumping over the small sculptures and dropped the present right next to them. He landed and did a turn so he was skating backwards.

As he skated backwards he pulled out another present as he drew close to one of the ice bridges he had created earlier. He crossed it and skated passed the Smoochum sculptures. He again dropped a present next to them before doing a turn so he could skate forward. He skated around and then crossed another ice bridge towards the center. He dropped several presents off here: one for the other Delibird, one for the Stantler, one for the Ponyta, and several others for under the tree. He stopped skating in the middle of the stage and bowed his head and let his bag sag. What no one saw was his eyes glowing again but the audience did see more snow beginning to fall.

“Rubi! One was forgotten!” Gormlaith called. Their time was just about up and the finale needed to be sparked. Rubi heard the call and instead of skating back he flew back as if weary. The blizzard grew stronger as he used another Blizzard attack. He fought to fly and often was pushed back. It seemed like he would never make it to the Teddiursa and deliver the final present. He landed on the middle ring and looked around with a wing over his eyes as if he had lost his way and couldn’t find the Teddiursa sculpture. After a moment he stopped that as if he finally found the way to go.

He again took off flying towards the outer ring. It was only a short distance to go but with the blizzard raging it took everything to make it. He finally landed next to the Teddiursa sculpture and placed the present next to it. The blizzard began to abate and Rubi turned around. He wearily skated back to his trainer. He stopped next to her and looked up at her. “Good job Rubi. I’m sure all of the pokemon of the forest is happy to have their presents!” She called out. The crowd was momentarily distracted by looking at the scene created by ice so they missed what Rubi did next.

He opened his beak and into the sky shot an Aurora Beam lighting the sky up with a small rainbow of colors as if there an actual Aurora appearing before the small forest scene below. “What a pretty sight!” Gormlaith called out to get the audience to look up. The audience oooh’d and awww’d over it and suddenly several bangs went off and their attention went back to the scene below. All of the ice sculptures were gone and some glittering dust was raining down upon the stage. The dust was actually small ice particles from the ice sculptures being basically blow apart by the exploding presents. Rubi and Gormlaith bowed to applause before leaving the stage to melt.
