Where?
This warren is in the old site of Efrafa, which has been at peace with Watership down but less and less rabbits populated it since the death of Woundwort. It is set by the traintracks (iron road), a small copse, several farmer's fields, not far from a forest or the river. There are many networks of tunnels. In the years, much of the grasses on the hill has begun to grow back.

Ruled by?
The warren is lead by a doe named Muntjac, who came from the new warren in the meta, along with several strong followers who disliked how things were being run. She is the ruler of her army. She has final say in all things, but does not lead alone.

Under her is a council consisting of three other rabbits; her seer who leads the worship of Inle and practices visions for her plans, her captain of owsla who provides strength in leadership and also acts as her personal body guard and her spy, a trained scout and thinker with a wise and resourceful mind.

Under the council are the owsla officers, though they have many different jobs besides just guarding the warren.

Under the owsla are the usual gifted runners and the very rare storyteller. Muntjac feels little need for nonsense but the storytellers are good at addressing large groups or giving speeches.

Under them are the warren regulars who passed the training trial. they are allowed to silflay as they wish, as they have proven their worth to the warren.

Under them are the vao'hyaoth (good tomorrows). They are the kittens and outskirters in training to be the warren regulars. those who pass are allowed to live as they will. those who surpass the others are trained as owsla and runners.

those who fail are at the bottom of the barrel. heavily monitored by owsla and forbidden from breeding, they are called the nao'roo (bad little ones) even as adults. They are banished to the edges of the warren where they live in secluded burrows and can only eat the grass by the iron road. they are pawns for battle.

As you can tell, the warren is a very warrish one with a tree of lessers stemming from the top.


Warren Rules
Muntjac can only be spoken to by her council.
The Nao'roo are not allowed to look at their rah.
Kittens are to be taken from their mothers for training as soon as they are weaned.
Play is to be discouraged in kittens.
Marli and Parli who do not surrender their kittens will be killed and the kittens exiled to the nao'roo.
Nao'roo are to be marked on their flanks and those who passed training have a notched ear.
Kittens get one chance at everything. If they are deemed a failure, they will not be able to redeem themselves.
Going tharn is punishable by death or exile.
Inlé is a much more fair in his teachings and must be worshipped. Frith is a false god.
Nao'roo must silflay in the daylight. The rest may be awake during Frith's hours but being above ground needlessly is a sin.
Owsla who observe the Nao'roo by day are considered stronger than others as they are wading in the light of Frith to do Inle's bidding.
The other members are allowed to silflay at twilight and dawn.

Beliefs
Muntjac believes that those who deserve to live deserve to live well. Physical strength, speed and a sharp mind are rewarded with finer points in life, including breeding and proper food and the warmer burrows. Those who do not meet the standards set in the warren are either shamed as the nao'roo or died in pursuit of glory.

As such, Muntjac deems Inlé over Frith. The black rabbit chooses fairly and night is a time of great rest and peace. She believes her seer, Balefur, can channel the black rabbit and speak of the future, of life and death, and of great promise.

One very odd practice her warren takes to is the value of white rabbits. While the darker rabbits are given a chance to prove their worth, pure white rabbits resemble the moon in the dark night and are known as soft-paws.

They are very few and far between as there are few pure white rabbits born to the warren. But those that are are raised by Balefur as the few storytellers of the warren, to pass on the knowledge of Inlé, the history of the warren and tales of their battles and the individuals.

Resources?
Efrafa is surrounded on many sides by resources. There's the edge of the farmland which is always tended to, the grasses of summer and the river for water. The rabbits of Muntjac's warren do not fear the iron road and cross it often, to reach the fields and other locations. In winter, the farm is well worth a raid but other warrens might have food too. Muntjac's warren not only steals from other warrens, they will kill to steal. Leading into hostilities, she is known for stealing kittens and outskirters during her raids to attempt raising them as guards. There is little peace in or out of her warren, which is why she is always ready for an attack with her growing army of strong rabbits.

Backstory?
A while back, Muntjac's warren was destroyed by great fires sparked by the sun's raw heat. She inhaled much smoke as she ran and was scratched on her right front leg. Wandering for many days, she finally succumbed to her leg injury and fell, unable to go on. Seeing the black rabbit before her, she did not feel fear but peace. Frith had started that fire and now Inle was here to clean up his mess.

That was when she met Balefur, who claimed the black rabbit had lead him to her. She was being given a second chance at life, which started her mindset to her praise. Balefur and her together found the meta warren, where they were accepted as members. There they met Hrair'zel and Obsidian and began to spread the seeds of Inle.


After a time, Muntjac left her warren with her council because she did not see Frith as a god. She saw weakness around her, in the way mothers coddled their kittens. She grew up valuing strength above all else. Because of this, her strongest enemy is her old warren's chief who she vowed to one day overthrow.
