I've posted this on tumblr but I'm posting this here too:
so right now i’m watching a few ladies discussing how ugly it is for jessica alba’s boyfriend having his nails painted pink and how they wouldn’t allow their boyfriends to do so and it’s honestly making me uncomfortable. if my boyfriend wanted to paint his nails, I’d even offer to help him and give him some of my nail polish bottles. honestly I wouldn’t think less of him if he wanted to do so.
why must people keep on judging others when they have nothing to do with it.
my life motto is: if no one's harming you directly, or your loved ones, leave them alone.

The guy should leave them if they tried to stop him from doing something that he wanted to do. neutral
If my bf wants to paint his nails he can. I would even give him the polish or help him out with it if he wanted me to. I don't see what the big deal about cosmetic stereotypes is anyway. It seems that women can wear almost anything that is made for a man but a man can't touch things made for a woman with a ten-foot-pole. Though, paired with his hair he would probably get some attention that he doesn't want.. unless he painted them black or something.. so he probably wouldn't, but still. XD

XD my bf wants me to dye his hair and i can pick the color xD i'm thinking about accepting that and make his hair black and add some purple :3 it'd really bring out his greenish blue eyes :3 but yes if he wanted to paint his nails i'd lend him my nail polish, i've got over 100 bottles xD and if i were any closer to the USA i'd have even more because of china glaze <3 aaaanyway, it's one of those annoying double standards. it makes me want to kick stuff.

I would not care if I had a man that wanted to wear nail polish. Not in the least. Who is it hurting? If he were coating them in orphan blood, we might have an issue- but pretty colors are his own business.
I can KINDAMAYBESORTA(butnotreally) give older people a pass on that kind of crap though- in their day gender roles were more strictly defined because (at least here in the States) women were still legally and socially inferior and they'd have picked up on some of those mindsets from their parents. I know my dad picked up on some of that nonsense- he thinks me and my mom are helpless idiots who exist to do house work.

I have never seen that manly nail polish, lol. That's really not a thing here in the States, at least not where I live.

i could see it being an issue but only along side a lot of other factors that lead to the my bf is in the closet conclusion
but without all those other factors it shouldn't matter in the least

My hubby use to wear black nail polish. If I had seen him wearing it, I still would have married him, probably even sooned though ^_^ I absoolutely adore anyone who defies gender stereotypes. Not just like cross dressing, but more like, pulling off something girly in a manly way, or vice versa. heart
