It had been a quiet day in the Moonlight herd despite the crazy hugeness of the herd. It was easy to get lost in a crowd and that was why, as Noir had gotten older, he repeatedly ventured out into the world on his own with his large pink wings and explored the land outside his family's. He was now rest on and outcropping all tucked in and watching the sunset. He liked to watch, he'd always liked to watch, everything. If was then he noticed a figure flying in front of the sunset not far off. It was in shadow so he couldn't tell color or gender but he knew it was a Star since he could make out front hooves...it was the back part end didn't quite make sense to him. On impulse and instinct he got up and took wing towards the individual.

Csilla, like always, was enjoying her flight. She was always the first to remember that she was special, very, very special. She yipped in happiness and then did a stunt in the air that she was sure only she could maneuver so tightly because of her streamline body and tail. She loved pushing her body and her wings and was glad that her mother had taught her to fly. Sometimes she worried about her flightless father and brother but she secretly knew that she wouldn't change her life for the world. As far as she knew she was the only Nova with Lyra wings and an Arcturus horn. She smiled, not in vanity but happiness. She was completely oblivious of the male Lyra/Acturus catching up to her flight home.

If he hadn't been trained to keep his wings flappying no matter what while in the air, he would have dropped out of the sky in surprise. It was a Nova! A flying nova with a horn. A Nova-Lyra-Arturus. Man was that a mouthful...err...thoughtful...errr. Noir mentally shook himself and forced his brain to re-focus. She may have been odd but she clearly didn't care and he continued to watch as he followed her at a distance. He body gave her an advantage in the air he didn't have. It was like she was swimming in the sky. But her body structure would make her awkward everywhere else. The wings would drag in the water and the absence of back hooves wouldn't allow her to travel any other way than sky. But she appeared to have made the best of this. Pushing his wings into catching up with her, he hollered. "Hey! Hello!"

Realizing that the call had come from behind her she did a barrel roll in mid air and and ended up facing the male who had called out to her in short order. It was a black and pinkish purple Lyra/Arcturus. He was quite fetching in the light of the setting sun and she flew to hover in front of him, unperturbed by the sudden meeting since her very nature seemed to expect the unexpected. "Hello. I'm Csilla." She smiled at him as she hovered there in the air and let her tail relax from the position she'd been holding it in for speed.

Her unsolicited greeting took him aback for a few seconds and he shook his mane slightly to recover and he slowed to hover in front of her. How that we wasn't looking at her as such an oddity, he had time to appreciate how pretty she was and he tried not to blush slightly at his thoughts. This knowledge that girls were pretty was still new to him and he was getting used to his feelings on it. "Hi. My name is Noir." He tried a grin on her. "It sounds silly when I say it now...but I saw you flying and I had to see what you were. I've never seen anything quite like you."

She nodded as if completely and immediately understanding his curiosity. "It doesn't sound silly. If I saw me flying I'd wonder what I was." She giggled then. "I know I must look funny flying since Nova are suppose to swim." She smiled at him. "Thank you for your name Noir. I like it, it suits you." She eyed his dark and handsome coat with a genuine grin. He really was handsome, the more she got to looking at him.

Noir, for some odd reason, jumped to correct her in her thinking. "NO! You look very graceful flying, more graceful than me that's for sure." He smiled and then blushed profusely when she complimented him and thanked him. He wasn't used to a girls attention...well other than his sister and mother. "Th...thank you." His wings were getting a bit tired from keeping in one place so, instinctively, he eyed the surrounding area for a landing place where they could still talk. She may have made him feel awkward but he wasn't quite willing to leave her alone just yet. "Can we land over there?" He pointed to a rock outcropping.

Oh he was lovely in that quiet way and she was beginning to thoroughly enjoy herself. She nodded at his compliment. "Thank you! I try. I love flying." She as grinning from ear to ear at his blush and when he aksed to land she shook her head in a no. "Nope. We can't land there." And she proceeded to dart off towards the ground and the waterhole she knew wasn't far. It was a popular one that her mother had shown her, a good place to stop and rest, especially if you had a fin. She smiled and yelled, "Catch me if you can!" over her shoulder back at him.

She was definitely not like him at all. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been impulsive and she seemed to be the very meaning of the word. Impulsive and accepting. Despite himself he was kinda into it. He blinked at her retreat for a full minuet and a half before following. He really wasn't quite sure how he was suppose to react to her. He should have been more used to her nature since it reminded him vaguely of Koray, his brother but there were definite differences. The main one being that she was female and he definitely knew it. He was dealing with a whirl of new sensations in the span of just minuets that frankly scared him. But he was following her anyway. Obviously the fear wasn't stopping him from being hot on her tail. Inwardly he at his brains bawdy suggestion. He as newly adult. That icky stuff was for his parents, not him just yet. "I'm coming, I'm coming." He was terribly behind her, he hoped she'd heard.

She giggled at his far off call and slowed her descent so he wouldn't loose her completely. She thought it was to his credit that he was actually following instead of fleeing at her weirdness. She knew she was weird, that wasn't new. He whole family line was weird and she cavorted with genies on a weekly basis. That was bound to affect anyone, or at least that was her opinion.
Gingerly she hovered above the trees that covered the water hole and the descended through a break in the center that let light down through. Gently she landed herself on the waters edge so her tail was in the water but her upper body and wings were dry. She was still Nova, she still needed water for her skin but she also wanted to be able to make a quick getaway if necessary and soggy wings weren't really conducive for that. When she was settled she looked up to watch him descend and land.

Noir at least saw her descend through the trees. He'd never been to that particular spot so he was curious to as to where she'd disappeared to. Unlike her, he did not descend slowly. He burst down through the canopy and circled the small clearing before landing on the soft grass beside the pond. His mother had taught him to fly well so we comfortable doing stunts like that. "Well this place is cool." He clipped over to where she lounged in the pool to lay in front of her with his feet tucked beneath him.

Interesting, apparently he loved flight just as much as she did. But she'd noticed that it was different when you had four feet instead of two. She could have made that turn tighter but he pulled his hooves and wings in just the right way as to miss every obstacle. And, she realized, he had the ability to fly longer because he didn't need to rehydrate. "Welcome to one of my mothers little oasis. When you have fins you tend to need them." She smiled at him genuinely. "Where you tired? Is that why you wanted to land?"

Of course she would have a family, he didn't know why this surprised him when he had a big family of his own. But, if he was honest with himself, in the back of his mind he'd hoped he might be able to take her back home and keep her. They didn't really have any Nova herd in Moonlight and he understood why but she had wings, maybe that make an exception. Mentally he shook himself, whoa, too fast. "It's tiring to hover like that for so long. At least while flying you can glide every now and again to conserve energy." That was his simple explanation. The long one that included his wanting to talk to her and get to know her kept to himself.

She nodded at his statement. That made more sense to her now, though if she was honest with herself she'd kinds hoped the reason he wanted to stop was because he found her enchanting and wanted to pounce her. Wasn't that sorta how her mother had explained her and her brother coming to her? In a sudden, blinding and quick jolt of romantic energy. She smiled, to her there was no reason to be abhorrent to the thought of a fling. Boys could be fun. She was like every girl, the proverbial eternal love wanted a sign hung permanently around her neck, but even short encounters left fun memories. She's like to have a fling with this one, he was damn handsome. "And here I was hoping it was because you thought I was cute."

Immediately a surprised look took over Noir's entire face and he blushed scarlet. He wasn't the type to take compliments or teasing without getting nervous and blushing. But then alot of things made him nervous and blush...like his great grandmother telling him he'd grown into a 'handsome stallion'. Noir tried not to trip over his next words but it was a useless. "I....um...of course you're very pretty...not that I...oh dear..." He hung his head and tried to take a few deep breaths to steady his nervous mouth.
