So he'd gotten surprisingly good advice from Dakota. But now it was time for some from am alternate source. Had to avoid bias, you know?

Otto wandered about, sending a text to Lex to ask where he was. Once said information was found, the teen beelined for the older hunter. He didn't know the man all that well aside from a run in here and there, but he was dating someone he was fond of enough to care he existed.

"Yo. I got a question." He announced as soon as Lex was in earshot.

Luckily for Otto, Lex had just finished his infirmary duty when the teen had sent off a text. The fact that Otto asked to find him, instead of just using the security cameras, made the older man smile a little. He'd told him to meet him outside, where they could casually walk and talk.

On the teen's arrival and immediate request, Lex gave a chuckle and broad grin. Always prompt and blunt; no wonder he and Ami got along so well. "Nice to see you, Otto. Ask away."

He began to stroll, clearly expecting Otto to follow suit.

"Okay, so like.." Otto followed after Lex, shoving his hands into his pockets. "You look like a dude who's been with a few women. I mean, you grew up in Las Vegas and around clubs, right?" Yes, Otto actually took something about you to memory. Be flattered, Lex.

"I just started dating a girl I've liked for a while, but I feel a lot different about her than I did my last girlfriend, so I'm not too sure what to do for her." Otto was... talking. He didn't talk often. Especially for this long. He must be babbling, which means he must be flustered. "Deus sucks for date spots, except maybe the beach. Like.. shes older so at first I was all like thinkin' she likes mature dates or somethin but then I remembered she doesn't really act older, so now I'm all wonderin' what to even talk about, usual stuff? I dunno I just.."

He coughed and removed a hand from his pocket to ruffle his hair. Sans beanie since Kat destroyed them all. "Gawddammit.."

Lex cringed a little on the inside at Otto's first statement; the kid had nailed it on head. Lex had been with more than a few women, something he was a little sensitive about at the moment. The talk with Eva had helped a little, but he was still pretty unsure of himself. Lex without confidence? Say what?

But, this was about Otto.

"Eva's a kind girl, a real sweetie too. She'd like anything you took her to." Lex offered, grinning as he put his hands in his coat pockets. "As for talking.... well, you two know each other really well, from what I've gathered, so a game of twenty questions is out." Though, that had been fun. "Ever heard of 'Would You Rather?' It can be a pretty fun game, and reveal some stuff you didn't know about each other."

"Ain't never heard of it." Otto admitted. A lot of group games he knew little of. A lack of social experience partly to blame. "I'd feel kinda weird proposin' a game but.. I think I gotta try and push outta my shell a bit anyway.."
PostPosted: Fri Mar 01, 2013 8:58 pm

"It's really simple, to be honest." Lex grinned, remembering when he'd played it in middle school with a few closer people. "You ask a person 'Would you rather do this, or do that?', except you fill in the blanks."

Mmm...better give him an example.

"For instance, would you rather eat pizza every day for the rest of your life, or never have to eat again?"

"Huh.." Otto murmured, his brows furrowed.

"Dude, that question is hard!" The complaint was coupled with a disgruntled glance. "Like.. after a while pizza would get so gross, but you'd be hungry and HAVE to eat it. On the other hand, never having to eat'd be handy on missions but boring as Hell..."

Apparently he took the thinking game a little too seriously.

"Maybe if it was candy...."

Lex gave Otto a light chuckle, clapping him on the shoulder. "And that's why this game is great - it reveals the thinking process of your partner. Personally, I'd choose to eat pizza for the rest of my life - you can embellish it in so many different ways, you'd be hard pressed to have every kind of pizza before you die."

It wouldn't be too easy on the abs, though.

"Oh, you're a candy lover?"

Damn. Maybe he really should play this game with Eva. "Just how many damn pizzas are there in the world? I'm a fan of Hawaiin, m'self." He added conversationally.

"Yeah." Otto admitted, scratching his cheek. "I even got a stash of it in case of shortages." Was it a candy addiction or was he simply prepared? You'd be hard pressed to find someone with a similar sweet tooth to Otto's. Case in point; when he pulled a Snickers out of his pocket and handed it to Dakota.

Yep. He has it stashed everywhere. Even on himself.

"Mmm...I'm not sure. You can put a lot of things on pizza, though." He'd certainly seen - and made - some odd pizzas as a child. Bacon and eggs, peppers and cream cheese - heck, once he'd even seen a peanut butter and jelly pizza. Some people... "And, for the record, my favorite is chicken and barbeque sauce. I only eat it every once in a blue moon, though..." He jokingly pointed to his stomach. He had to keep trim and toned, even if he was just with one woman now...

Right, back on the topic. Candy...

"A stash? Really?" The man chortled, shaking his head in amusement. So, the cold exterior bellied a child in a candy shop. Fitting. "Candy's alright, but there's just too much chocolate involved..."

"Seriously dude? Ain't like none of us gotta worry 'bout weight gain in our line of work, yanno?" He smirked lightly, "I probably woulda lived off that and chicken wings if I had my way back home. Mom was all into healthy eating, so I always had to eat whatever she made." He cringed, remembering a full week of nothing but carrots and potatoes. Whatever the health fad was, or whatever money permitted they could do. Potatoes stretched farther, after all.

"Ain't no such thing as too much chocolate." Otto sassed back with a haughty raise of his brows.

Lex smirked, sorely tempted to ruffle the short teen's hair. He would refrain for now, opting to just put his hand in back in his pocket as they continued walking. "It's called muscle tone - I know I won't gain weight, but too much crappy food and I'd lose the tone. I worked too hard to lose this." Not as much as Leon, but...that was a different story. That man had actually been a fighter, training daily for hours upon hours.

At Otto's sass, Lex actually let out a bark of laughter. Yes, he and Ami were very much alike. "I would agree, if I weren't allergic to the stuff. One sip of hot cocoa and I'd need to be taken to the infirmary. Makes Valentine's day a little rough for my dates." A beat, and then "Date, not dates. I meant date."

"Hmmm? But really, all ya gotta do is train that much harder. Unless yer avoidin' that altogether. I eat a lot of candy, but I balance it out by runnin' around a lot. Like usin' the gym or tryin' out the skateboard Candace got me." It was the best present ever.

"Allergic to chocolate? That's rough." Otto winced. He couldn't imagine being allergic to something so sweet. His brows furrowed and he gave Lex a careful look.

"Dates...?" That look became a judgemental one. "Ya'ren't seein' no one on the side, are ya? Cause I might gotta kill ya if y'are." For the honor of one of his Big Sisters.

Lex shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck. "No, no, I work out don't worry. I just don't want to have to run an extra three miles to burn off a few slices of pizza is all." Not that he had a super duper strict diet - the man had pancakes for breakfast if he'd had sex that night - but he ate relatively healthy.

The hand went to his hair, ruffling it in frustration. Yes, he'd slipped up in his speech. Stupid Freudian slips.

"No, I'm not. There was a time when I would be, but I'm trying to leave that life." It was hard, though. Temptation is a tough master, but could always be overthrown. He'd just have to keep usurping until temptation decided to leave. "Ha, you and the rest of the island. I'm pretty sure you'd have to beat Marcus to the first slice, though."

"If you say so. I trust you." Now that was saying a lot. Maybe Otto was going soft. Definitely going soft.

"Nah, I bet I could beat him to it." Otto mused with a confident expression. "Push comes to shove I can trip him up and stand on him to get to you first. That bein' said, I guess a lot of people are always lookin' out for each other, huh?"
