SDRP Academy PSY 101.1

IC Top | OOC | Rules | Commitment | Application | Roster | Assignments

Catalog | Directory | Transcripts | Campus (WIP)

We are no longer taking applications for Spring 2013!

Next is the Summer Quarter, which starts July 1st. Get your applications in on time.
Applications will be accepted until April 8.

Welcome to the SDRP's flagship Workshop Series - the SDRP Academy. This is a special sort of RP where it's all about teaching players how to Role Play. Since this is the School of Dedicated Role Players we're offering an extensive catalog of quality classes in a persistent RP world where you can hone your skills and generally hang out with other guild members in an academic setting. The guild's more active, advanced members will serve as the faculty running classroom RPs which are really workshops designed to teach various role play related topics. Around them is (will be) a frame RP in which students can interact with each other, faculty, and staff on the campus of said academy. The campus (subforum) is currently under construction but you can jump into the first class (this thread) and get in on the ground floor as we put this thing together.

All students will start in this character creation workshop (PSY 101) where they will create their characters for the RP and then may choose to go to another class or hang out on campus.

In Character Intro:

Two months after receiving a mysterious acceptance letter to a university you had never heard of you found yourself, for whatever reason, traveling a good distance to attend its new student orientation. When you arrived at the address on the invitation though it was not at all what you had expected. There was just a small, weathered building in the middle of nowhere, hardly large enough to keep a shop in let alone a university. But the crest on the faded sign swinging above the door matched the one on the acceptance letter and this was the right address. Besides, you had come all this way, may as well check it out.

Opening the door revealed something that could only be called magic (or a teleportation device). Inside the building was outside - and not the same outside you had just come from. This outside was picture perfect with a bright blue sky dotted in puffy clouds that looked painted on, only their movement making them real. The wall in which the door stood was a sturdy brick facade with a tall, white columned porch in colonial style. Beyond it was a grassy lawn bordered in other buildings of similar make. Cobbled pathways wound between them lined in lush landscaping heavy with fragrant flowers.

This was more like it. But you weren't given much time to appreciate the view as only moments after stepping through the door a blue haired old woman came shambling up to shoo you off the porch and into one of the neighboring buildings where she prattled on about the campus being a window to other worlds you had just begun to dream of. She didn't seem to listen to anything you may have attempted to say to her as she lead you through winding halls going on about the diverse student body.

Then the old woman opened a door to a small classroom containing a few other supposed students sitting in desks and looking as new as you were. The classroom itself was modest with simple white walls, floor, and ceiling tiles. Windows lined the back overlooking the green space from where you had just come and a large blackboard made up the right side wall. On the blackboard was written in a tight and somewhat awkward hand a simple message, "Welcome to PSY 101, otherwise known as New Student Orientation. Find a seat and draft up a quick introduction of yourself to share with the class."

Note: This introduction is left vague to allow for creativity in the characters attending the university. Have fun and don't be afraid to try something different.

RULES

IC Top | OOC | Rules | Commitment | Application | Roster | Assignments

Catalog | Directory | Transcripts | Campus (WIP)

These are the basic codes of conduct within the Academy. There are not many and they are very simple. Breaking these will have consequences.

1. Common Sense
Don't be an idiot. Respect each other, respect the TOS, and respect guild rules. Don't mess it up for the rest of us, and try not to do anything that would upset other people. This is a GAME after all, we're here to have fun.

2. Control
Don't control anyone else's character(s). Don't severely affect (maim, kill, etc) them without permission (of the player or with GM override). Don't go off on an insane killing spree (without permission). Don't mess up the plot/world. Basically use some measure of self control or pay the consequences (character death/player ban). If you need help with the control etiquette just ask.

3. Literacy
This is a school and as such we encourage you to write well. For this RP that means in third person, past tense, complete sentences. L33t speak, txt abbreviations, profuse slang, and generally bad grammar should not be used outside of dialog. We won't be grammar Nazis but do try to write above an 8th grade level. If you have issues with grammar just ask for help.

Please do not color and/or bold dialog. It puts too much emphasis on dialog which, while important, should not be put above the rest of the text. Also do not center align long blocks of text, use small fonts, or use bright font colors. In general please keep formatting to a minimum.

4. Depth
We'd like our characters to be as real as possible but this is an intro class so we don't expect much from entering students. In this class you should learn to make rich characters.

5. Commitment
We want dedicated players or at least to know how dedicated all our players are. You will be asked how often you expect to be able to post on your application, take that seriously and give us the time you sign up for. The absolute minimum is 1 post a week. See Commitment for more info on what we expect.

6. Dependability
Occasional lapses in commitment are understood but please notify the Registrar and your current teacher (if in class) when you expect an extended absence. Frequent, repeated lapses in commitment will result in the lowering of your listed posting frequency, failure of classes, and possible expulsion from the Academy.

COMMITMENT

IC Top | OOC | Rules | Commitment | Application | Roster | Assignments

Catalog | Directory | Transcripts | Campus (WIP)

Everyone has played games that started strong and just fell apart after a short time due to lack of/mismatched commitments (some players flood the boards but others only post once or twice a week). We want players willing to give us their time and effort to make this RP thrive but we also understand that not everyone is as addicted to RP as our Staff.

In hopes of solving that we require players to give us their expected posting frequency on their applications. This information will be listed in each student's Transcript (profile) to let other players know roughly how often they can expect you to post so characters of equal posting frequency can group and participate at their own pace without hindering, or rushing other players. We hope that by matching equal levels of participation everyone can play as much, or as little, as they want.

Unless otherwise noted, students taking classes will be required to post a minimum of once a week to turn in assignments. It is highly encouraged you make at least one more post for participation, but you will not be expelled so long as assignments are turned in. If you miss more than three consecutive assignments you will fail the class unless an arrangement can be made with the teacher. If you fail more than three classes you will be expelled from the Academy.

Students outside of classes are encouraged to post at least weekly however there is no formal punishment for not doing so (you may just get left behind in the scene). Please respect the players you are in scenes with and do not hold them back by not posting often enough. Try to avoid grouping with players that post more often than you can. Check Transcripts for each player's posting frequency.

If a situation comes up where you will not be able to post (sick, grounded, on vacation, etc) notify the Registrar and your current teacher (if in class) and they will put you on hiatus. While on hiatus you will not be expected to post but make up work will be required to rejoin any classes. If the class completes before your return you will receive an incomplete grade but may join the next class when it starts to make up the work.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

So you have an idea of what you're getting into when you apply to the Academy here is an example of what we hope to offer for this coming year. Our classes will follow a quarter system allowing two and a half months to complete a course with half a month between each quarter for out of class interactions. All students will begin in PSY 101. Once completed with their first course they will have the option taking further courses or simply hanging around campus for a more traditional RP experience.

Note: Depending on enrollment and student interest we may offer more classes or classes in different order but these are the dates and basic structure we hope to follow with our classes.

APPLICATIONS

IC Top | OOC | Rules | Commitment | Application | Roster | Assignments

Catalog | Directory | Transcripts | Campus (WIP)

Enrolling in the SDRP Academy is fast and easy. Just PM the Registrar (School of Dedicated RPers) with your completed application (form below) using the subject: SDRP Academy Enrollment. The Registrar (School of Dedicated RPers) will place you in the next available New Student Orientation (PSY 101) and put your name on that class's Roster. You will get a PM reply to notify you of this placement and any further instructions necessary. Once you have completed the orientation you may move on to the next available desired course or simply hang out with other students around campus.

Application Deadline
Since the Academy is more like a real school than an RP and, like a real school, we hope to have several generations of students come through there is no hard deadline for applications. We will always be taking submissions so if you miss the first round you can always catch the next.

We are no longer taking applications for Spring 2013!

Next is the Summer Quarter, which starts July 1st. Get your applications in on time.

STUDENT ENROLLMENT

What We're Looking For
The SDRP Academy is an eclectic setting designed to allow for most any sort of student from real world high school students to high fantasy adventurers and everything in between. We want our students to have fun with their characters and be free to play what they want however there are a few requirements for students to be accepted to the Academy.

Incoming Freshmen:
 • Do not have to be human but must be humanoid (more or less could pass for human at a distance maybe with a little effort).
 • Do not have to be made just for the Academy but must be your original character (if you did not think them up you can't play them here).
 • Do not have to be powerless novices but must be of a low to intermediate power level (not a super-cool awesomely powerful demi-god).
 • Must be between 17 to 25 years old (or racial equivalent thereof).
 • Must be willing to make adjustments to your starting character concept to better fit into the RP world (that's the whole point of PSY 101).

Alumni and Transfer Students:
Once you've gotten some Academy credits under your belt or otherwise proven yourself an advanced player you may bend some of the above rules on a case by case basis. Discuss this with the Registrar.

Application Form
Fill out the following form and PM it to the Registrar (School of Dedicated RPers) with the subject: SDRP Academy Enrollment.

[Name your character goes by]

Played by: [your Gaia name]
Commitment: [how often you will be able to post]
RP Experience: [brief summary of your experience with RPing]
What you would like to learn:

Concept
Tag Line: ONE SENTENCE that sums up the concept of your character: who they are, what they do.

Brief Description:
Describe your character in a few paragraphs. Please keep this BRIEF. The whole point of this class is to flesh out your character so we are not looking for a lot of detail, that will come later.

See the Directory for examples of character concepts.

FACULTY / STAFF SEARCH

Right now the Academy is looking more for students than teachers but is always taking faculty/staff applications and ideas for new classes. If you have a new class idea (or any other suggestion) reply to the Discussion Thread and let us know about it.

Faculty
Prospective faculty must submit proposed lesson plans and a curriculum vitae outlining your experience with RP and teaching or a related field to the HR Director (umbraja). The vitae should be true to you, the player, but does not need to include location details. The vitae should include relevant education and employment information.

Candidates will be selected based on vitae and lesson plan quality.

Faculty Requirements:
 • Submit a curriculum vitae outlining your experience with RP and teaching or a related field. CV Requirements: Minimum RP experience of 2 years; Minimum of 2 months active membership in the SDRP; Minimum of 6 months continuous play in at least one quality RP on Gaia; Minimum of 6 months experience GMing; Teaching (or related) experience preferred.
 • Submit high quality RP samples. Sample quality will be judged as laid out in the SDRP Level System. We expect Level 3 samples.

 • Candidates lacking teaching experience may be required to take EDU 101 before teaching.

Administrative Staff
Those interested in an Administrative Staff position should PM the HR Director (umbraja) with a letter of intent outlining the desired position and their related work experience. If you are not a member of the SDRP Crew also submit a Crew Assistant Application so you may be considered for our Crew Track program.

NPC Staff
If you would like to play one of our NPC Staff positions PM the HR Director (umbraja) with an RP sample and character sheet for the proposed NPC. We expect Level 3 samples.

Some students were shuffling into the classroom and taking their seats. Some chose to do what the blackboard instructed while others waited to see what the instructor would say.

Speaking of the instructor, if anyone chose to look for him/her, they would find a woman sitting at a desk in the front of the blackboard. She had a rather simple, if large, wooden desk which was covered in various papers. What was odd was that the few stacks of papers had various rocks - some crystalline, some metallic, all odd - as paper weights.

The woman was perhaps odder than the simple, slightly cluttered desk. She was completely monochrome. She wore a knee length, grey dress with black stockings and boots. Her gray hair was set in perfectly curled pigtails. Her hands were encased in tattered gloves while her tattered cloak hung off the back of her chair. As it was, she'd been doodling a few drawings on a spare piece of paper waiting for the students to get settled.

She looked up to see some of the students waiting on her, and with a friendly smile, she called out to them. "Hey everyone, good to see you. My name's Isa, and I'll be your teacher for this class." She rested her face on her hand while studying the faces of her new students.

"Why don't we get this started by having you tell me a bit about yourself? Who you are, where you're from, your goals, and an interesting fact about yourself."

Damien slowly scanned over the classroom. There were a handful of students, and the teacher. who didn't look very, er, colourful. Snapping his fingers, the music he was playing to himself died down into silence. He may as well get the hard part out of the way early. Bracing himself, he ran a hand through his auburn hair and straightened out the rolled-up sleeves of his navy blue dress shirt before standing at his desk. Even though he wasn't keen on the idea, he turned to introduce himself to the class. "Hello everyone. My name's Damien Dennoir." He said straightforwardly. "Uh... There's not much to say about me, I don't think anyways." He scratched the top of his head embarassedly. Talking about himself? Not his forte. Talking in general, not his forte. "I'm big on music. It's my day job, I guess. I spend around half of my working hours composing stuff, the other half waving a stick around, so uh..." He fidgeted a bit, "yeah." That settled that. What was next? The sooner this was over with the better.

Right, where he was from. "I was born and raised in a city called Echo Basin, lived on a rowdy street called Treble Court where everyone was a musician, my family included, so uh, that probably explains a lot." Damien shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans and gave a small smile. "My parents told me I had a sax reed instead of a pacifier as a baby." He decided not to bring up the potential hazards of a baby sucking on a small piece of wood.

So interesting fact? Damien racked his brain for something else to add. He didn't want to end it abruptly like that. "Oh," He snapped his fingers, causing jazz to flood into the room. from no source in particular. "I can do this. There's no real name for it I don't think." He shrugged before adding, "If there is, I didn't get the memo." As he spun a finger in the air, a small smile made its way onto his face as a colourful string of notes trailed behind his finger. "I can control the range of the music to just myself to a whole room and anywhere in between, so, uh, if you try to talk to me and I don't respond, I'm not ignoring you, just, uh, give me a nudge. I'll try not to listen to my music too loudly." He gave a single nod towards the class. "I hope I can get to know everyone." Damien snapped his fingers again to stop the music and slowly sat down. That wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good. The job was done at least. Shoving his hands back into his pockets, he sat back in his chair and rested his right foot on the knee of his other leg. Hopefully he made a good impression, or at least, not a bad one.

Tresna had known, of course, that the Academy was a different world, but somehow she had failed to foresee that it would be a foreign country as well. The instructor seemed as though she could pass for an eccentric functionary in Grastelyn, but Tresna was sure she was far too familiar with her students to teach at the Lyceum. And this mumbling, diffident boy, who - well, his was an act difficult to follow, but she had to speak.

She rose to her feet and clasped her fat hands at the small of her back. "I am Tresna."

She flushed at her revealing slip, but continued smoothly enough: "Tresna Redder - the family business is masonry. I am not certain if it is the same in this world, Isa," she said, inclining her head, "but in the city-state of Grastelyn, single names are reserved for those leading lights in Beauty, Knowledge and Strength.

"For my part, I hope to rise the ranks of Beauty. I have a certain talent for poetry. You see --" and here she turned to Damien -- "in Grastelyn we do not wince at our talents. If your music were a recognized form, Mr. Dennoir, you could well become the Star of Beauty in Grastelyn. Even as it is, it is pleasant enough to the ear that you would get more patrons than I think I can hope for. I find humility to be refreshing among the Three Pillars, but your shame..." She shook her head. "There is no place for that. You have a gift."

She realized that her hands had left the small of her back and were waving about like a rhetorician's. She was glad now that this Academy did not appear as strict as the Lyceum was by her friend student's account; shedding a novice's habits should probably be done with relative speed, if she wished to be taken seriously.

"One of the poems that earned me my scholarship would seem quite mundane, I am sure, after that display, and in any case, the terms were that I give an interesting fact about myself, and a poem would not fulfill those terms. Very well: I helped lay the bricks for the barracks that the Stars of Beauty and Knowledge are clamoring to have pulled down, and I do not at all regret it."

She descended back into her chair.

Dayshaun waited a few heartbeats to give another student the chance to introduce himself before he took the initiative and stood. He was a fairly tall young man, one of the boys unfortunately enough to be stuck between adolescence and adulthood. For although he was old enough to sport facial hair, he was still young enough to still have a little baby fat. His clothes also betrayed his age, for he had not yet grown out of the baggy jeans and oversize jackets of his youth. Or maybe he simply wore the clothes for camouflage, back in the Heights this sort of attire wouldn't be out of place but they felt oddly out of place in this setting.

He was nervous, and not just because he was feeling a little uncomfortable in his getup, speaking before crowds always made his hands to sweat and his stomach to flutter but did his best to hide it. 'Never let them see you sweat,' his mother had always said so he'd always tried not to perspire any more than he had to. He simply kept breathing, forced himself to make roving eye contact and began to speak. "All my life I've been called Dayshaun, and even though that's not what's on my birth certificate it's as good a name as any." So far so good, he hadn't fumbled any of his words or made a complete fool of himself. Yet.

"I grew up in Jacksonian Height, down between Avenue D and F, not too far from where the portal was. Though based on what those before me have said, I'm guess the portal here leads from many places instead of just the abandoned building of Avenue G and Fort Street." Good, good. A tad bit rambely but his words still expressed understandable thoughts. "As for one interesting fact about myself, I can do magic." He punctuated the last word with a flourish that revealed a shiny copper coin in his right hand that hadn't been there a moment before. He dropped the coin onto the desk before him as he continued speaking. "Allow me to demonstrate, I can make this penny disappear from the top of the desk and reappear underneath it." He began to swirl his hands around the penny on the desk, putting them through figure out and loop-de-loops which seemed to make the air before him shimmer. Then he rose both hands higher into the air and slammed them both down onto the penny with a muttered word.

True to his word the penny disappeared from on top of the desk and reappeared below it to clink into the floor. Unfortunately the penny did not do so by translocation, teleportation or any other mystical form of transportation. It did so by the simply expedient of carving through the desk like a bullet firing form a gun. Seeing his error, Dayshaun eyes grew wide and looked up towards the instructor with a guilt face.

"Uhh...did I do that?" He then sat down and tried to look very small. "My bad," he muttered as he shrunk into himself.

((That might be a bit much for an introduction but sometimes I feel like torturing my OCs.))

Arin looked around at her fellow classmates and the teacher. Arin came here to get away from her family and all the ruckus as home and here she is in a classroom full of such interesting people. Back at home, there was nothing special, nothing ever happened. The more Arin thought about it the wider her smile got. Arin was liking this new change.

It was hard to match any of their introductions, but Arin still stood up and did hers, but as she stood up she rammed her knee into the table leg. "Ow. Hehe...silly me", she chuckled as she tried to laugh it off.

Finally Arin got to her actual introduction. "Hi guys, my name is Arin Stone." Then Arin stood there thinking about something interesting about her. She never thought about it, everyone at home was about the same including her. "Well...I guess I might be a little stronger than the average girl because I grew up on a farm. We all worked day in and day out so I guess I have some muscles from that, but I'm not like you guys with special traits."

Arin was sure her introduction was boring, but there really wasn't anything interesting about her to say anymore. "As you guys all saw earlier I'm clumsy and I am apologizing now for any mishaps that may happen in the future. I try to not hurt myself or other people, but sometimes my body has a mind of its own. Sorry." and with that, Arin sat down carefully making sure she didn't hit anything or anyone.

"Ashamed...?" Damien frowned at the word. That was one thing he definitely was not. He was proud of his work, and even a composition that wasn't well-recieved didn't mean it wasn't worth being proud of. It simply meant it needed refinement, or a new audience, or it didn't fit into the current music trend. Not like trends mattered. Any composer worth their salt didn't write to fit in, they composed what they wanted. Whether it fit in or not was just a coincidence.

That was besides the point though. He wasn't ashamed of his music at all, he just didn't like talking. Although him giving off the impression he was was no one's fault but his.

When it came to Dayshaun's magic trick, Damien couldn't help but get a bit excited. With parents in the show business, he grew up with magicians and performers and got to see them on a regular basis, something he was always ecstatic about. Maybe they could get together and do a show or something. Damien couldn't help but smile when Arin had hit her knee off her desk. That was something he had done many times when he had been struck with a sudden epiphany or was running late.

In any case, he had a small misunderstanding he had to clear up. "Er, Tresna?" Hopefully he didn't come off as offended. "I'm not ashamed of my music one bit, I just... I'm not as good with speaking as you are I don't think." He chuckled embarassedly. "But uh, if you don't mind me asking, what is Grastelyn like?" The 'Star of Beauty' title caught his interest, and he had another thing to clear up. "Er, and when you said if my music was a recognized form in Grastelyn, I hope you didn't mean music in general. That'd be quite a shame. Did you mean the particular genre I had selected?"

Tresna glanced nervously at Isa. Was speaking out of turn to be encouraged at the Academy, then? Then there were habits she would have to conquer here as well, but she ought to have expected no less.

"I apologize for my hasty judgment. No, no, of course we have music... ah, Damien. I think I am correct in saying that given names prevail here? It is only that those trumpet-like sounds, that cadence, are unlike anything I have heard before.

"I suppose that is one of the drawbacks to living in Grastelyn - one must seek the approval of the old accomplished if they are to ascend the Pillars. Rascoven - a neighboring nation - well, its people are a plain, hardscrabble sort; I don't think I could ever live so austerely, and I was a bricklayer. But there is more allowance for a new idea there. They can win respect without mentors and patrons and formal education. About eighty years ago now, a Beauty functionary named Gavyn formed the first orchestra - I don't know whether you know what an orchestra is? very well - and it was only a few years ago that the orchestra became a recognized form under the First Light - that's the head of the city, chosen from among the three Stars when the last Light dies or resigns. Every full master in the Three Pillars casts a vote.

"The orchestra, though. That form is one of my favorites, and I wish its time were not so long delayed. And it is an endemic problem. In the Pillar of Strength..."

Tresna stifled herself. Any weakness in Grastelyn's defense was not to be discussed with outsiders.

"But we rank our citizens by accomplishment. Most nations rank theirs by the old blood or, worse yet, by whom they have had poisoned at the proper moment. And none that do as we do are so fair to the eye and mind. You will find no higher beauty, no greater gentility, no libraries so filled, anywhere. I wish that all of you could see the sight of it just once - even Dayshaun," she added with a slight smile. "I suspect the Academy is more lenient, but if he had damaged that desk in Grastelyn, I do not think it would take him long to work off the cost of it, if he minded to use only his own things in his acts."

The introductions had made Isa both glad to have this group and ponderous about what to do next. It was unfortunate that she had gotten lost in her thoughts when the introductions had finished.

"Oh! Sorry about that. If there is one thing that you should know about me, it's that I can get a little lost in thought," she said with a sheepish grin. "In any case, thank you for your wonderful introductions. I appreciated what you said...and also what you didn't say," she ended slyly. "So here is my evaluation of your introductions:

"Damien," she pointed, "not only discussed his passions, he also displayed a little of his ability. It gives us an idea of what he could do now and also allows the rest of us a chance to find out how far creative he can get with his ability."

The teacher then turned to look at Tresna. "As for you, I can't wait to hear about how you live life in your home world. You talk a lot about it, and it sounds quite interesting. You also leave me curious. You certainly don't have to answer now, but I have to wonder how you became interested in poetry if your family was focused on masonry. Don't tell me now, that'll be a part of a future assignment," she teased.

"Dayshaun..." she grinned, "no need to worry about the desk. We have people here to fix the furniture, so don't feel too bad about it, alright?" She waved her hand as if to shoo away the guilt. "What I liked about your display of magic was that not only did you show us what you could do, you also showed us the level of your control - and that's not a bad thing. Believe me, I knew a girl who could bring her drawings to life. Pretty neat trick, but she had no idea how to control the things she drew...but that's a story for another day."

Isa then nodded at Arin, "No need to worry about special abilities. What we're focused on in this class is what makes you, you. Abilities can certainly add flair, but that's not all a person is. Your attitude, opinions, beliefs, and choices - those are the things that make a person special. And that is what we're going to be talking about in this class," she smiled. "However," she added, "you didn't tell me about any goals you had. You hinted at where you were from, but you never really went into very much detail. No need to be shy here, you're among friends."

"Your next assignment is going to be a little different," she said as she got out of her seat. She went to the board and scribbled:

1) List the characteristics (physical, personality, and background) of the student introduced before you.
2) Choose, in your opinion, the best introduction so far.
3) Explain why that is the best one.

"So Damien, you get to write about me since you were the first to answer. I promise not to get mad about your opinion," she teased. "As for Arin, you either have the greatest or most terrible fortune since I am going to be listing your characteristics," she winked. "Now remember - you don't have to just mention the characteristics that were mentioned. Let's see how well you can study people. Look into their body language and see what that might tell you.

"For number two and three," she continued, "be sure to look at everyone's introductions. See which one you liked best - and no, you won't get extra credit if you try to use mine," she stated wryly. "Pick the one you think conveys a well-developed character and be sure to have reasons for your choice. There is no wrong answer to this question so don't worry yourself into a fit about it." She paused for a second. "I don't think I have to worry about this, but I'm going to mention it anyway. Please do not choose your own introduction even if you do think it is the best. That comes off as arrogant, and it's not conducive to a good atmosphere."

She then went back to her desk, but instead of sitting in the chair, she went in front of the desk and sat on it. "If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. And once you're done with your assignment, you don't have to sit there quietly. You're perfectly welcome to chat amongst yourselves." Her legs swung slightly as she watched her students work on their newest assignment.

While everyone was introducing themselves? A figure slipped through the doors and walked along the wall to the middle area, the faint scent of pine and rain fress earth lingered within the area. She looked from person to person for a few minutes before spotting an empty desk, sauntered silently to it only to stand beside it.

Asche was a very silent person and this was her first time actually being involved in anything of this nature. She had gotten so used being alone she did not what to say, soft hazel irises scanned from person to person. Golden locks were drapped over her shoulders and her bangs framed her face perfectly, soft sighed had expelled from her lips knowing she had to say something--so she decided on a smple introduction.

"Greetings.. My name is Asche, I used to live in the forest of the elves till certian circumstances had forced me to make a choice.." Then she stopped for a second letting her mind wander, she was never good in expressing herself muchless introducing herself. She was thinking on what she should say now, she guessed should mentioned a little bit of herself.

Finally, after a few minutes she finally thought about what she was going to say. "I apologize for the lateness it is just I was never good in verbal introductions.." And with that she bowed her head to them and the instructor and finally took a seat, lifted her hands and locked her fingers while placing her elbows on the desk.
