Allistaire hadn't known she was asleep, or had been asleep for a couple years now. Her dreams felt like reality and in truth they had been, only she had been put to rest. However, unlike the others who had entered this sleep with her, she never woke up. Little did anyone know that was about to change. A sudden jump of her body woke her. Her blue eyes flew open and she was instantly sitting up, gasping for air as her hair clung to her face. It was a relief to find it had all been a nightmare, even though it felt real. Within a couple minutes Allie had fully recovered but remained where she had been for years, holding her knees tightly to her chest as she waited for her eyes to adjust. It seemed like it was taking forever for them to adjust though. Allie wondered what time it was. The room was pitch black so it was hard to tell if it was night or day.
Unable to motivate herself to get up Allie continued to sit in the same spot, but gingerly began to move herself. Of course her muscles gave a great amount of protest since they had not been used for quite some time. "Ouch." Her voice came out as barely a whisper yet the girl didn't notice just how strange it sounded. It wasn't until Allie began to rub at the back of her neck that she realized her hair had grown several inches. In fact, it was down to the back of her knees at least! "Why is my hair so long?" Allie exclaimed, her voice cracking because she was only capable of whispers at the moment. Her heart began to beat hard in her chest as she tried to figure out why everything about herself was different. It didn't make sense. Despite her great intellect the poor girl couldn't understand how she could change so drastically overnight. Maybe she had forgotten she had invented something and tested it out on herself? No, while she was into science her focus was more on electronics, not biological. Tears welled up in her eyes. What was happening? Why was the room so dark? Where was she?

As people were busy all around her, Candice could not feel more at home. It had been a few months since she started volunteering at the hospital, working under any doctor that would allow her. She wasn't quite in medical school yet so couldn't do some things, but shadowing older doctors was definitely something Candice enjoyed to no tomorrow. She would be like them day, saving lives!
Candice was off helping nurses during the times where the doctors though she shouldn't be allowed to shadow yet, and she was perfectly fine with that. The nurses would make her do some of the grunt jobs that they normally would do but didn't like to do. She did them anyways, and the next room she stepped into was one that was simple enough.
She stopped at the door and quietly opened it. There was no way that Candice could be disturbing the girl since she had been in a coma for quite some time now, but she was still careful. Never know what could happen, right?
Candice immediately made her way through to the blinds, letting the sun peek through. It was a beautiful day and she smiled, enjoying the warmth of the sunlight against her face. What Candice failed to realize for a while was the girl in the bed, awake, and letting out quiet sobs.
Quickly, she turned around and gasped. Candice hurried over and tried to calm the girl. "Shh... You're okay." She hugged the girl just a little bit while calling for a nurse.
"Nurse! Someone! She's awake!" Candice had never known the girl before, minus coming in and letting light into the room. She had heard from the doctors that it had been a while since she was in a coma. A stable one, but there hadn't been any reaction to anything until now.
Smoothing out the girl's hair with one hand, she used the other to lift the girl's face so that they were looking eye to eye. "It's okay... Calm down. We'll get some help in here as soon as possible, okay?" Candice wiped off a tear that was growing in the girl's eye. "Don't cry! You're safe here, promise!"
