Good evening and welcome to Letters From Shinra, I assume that if you're here, you have at least some inkling of what is going on here, if not a member of the former cast(s) -and we have had many-.
However, just in case you are not aware, Letters from Shinra is an alternate universe Final Fantasy VII roleplay that does not take into account any of the spin-offs -though characters from said spin-offs may be present-, and basically melds everything together as if certain events -a.k.a the plotline of every game- had never happened. In this universe, they didn't.
Our scene opens with President Shinra dead -usually of something hilarious like choking on a muffin while watching porn, or an exploding toaster, you get the idea-, and Rufus attempting to stabilize the company. Or not, sometimes he decides he's fed up and releases zombies.
There is no goal, there are no expectations. The only thing we'd like you to do is stay in character -or at least, your definition of the character- and have fun.
By fun, we mean, blow up as much stuff as possible, kill as many employees as you can, and in general, wreak havoc and give Rufus a headache.

Sorry we're invite only. By which I mean, if you know someone in here and have them refer you, or just hold a conversation with me long enough to convince me you'd be good for the character. It's excruciatingly easy.
Character Hierarchy:
Because apparently, our view of Shinra differs from 'canon' and we'd like to make a few things clear before anyone starts playing.
Soldier is it's own department, ran by the Three Generals. Lazard handles the bureaucratic nonsense, but otherwise has no power.
Turks answer only to the President, and now Rufus. Departments may make requests for Turk support, which are usually granted.
Rufus is the very top of the pyramid, with the department heads, Head Turk -Tseng- and Generals beneath him. Their subordinates beneath them and so on and so forth until we get to the faceless numbers that make up the rest of the employees.
Further details are available upon request, but when it comes to who can and can't order your character around, use good judgement. If there's a problem, message me and I'll iron things out.

We'd like to have someway to differentiate between one character and another, so it would be nice if you used different color text or something.
Shouldn't be said, but all relationships are welcome -including those with inanimate objects-, just make sure that the other player consents before assuming anything, ok?
It should be assumed that you may kill as many faceless employees as you or your character feels like, welcomed even. However, you may never kill off another character without express permission from myself and their player.
Godmoding. Not just assuming that you can't be killed, but taking control of another character's actions. Do not do it. We've had problems with it before, so just to be safe, if it involves assuming another characters actions, either be vague, or ask the player first.
Massive amounts of chaos must first be approved by Chaos. If it's going to potentially affect more than one character, please ask first. Of course, random violence is always good, welcomed even, but Rufus would like it restricted to one floor if possible. -What this means is, loveys, should someone have an accident and release test subjects all over the place, I should be alerted first.-
We expect every player to have a decent grasp of spelling and grammar, especially considering that Firefox has built-in spell-check.
One sentence responses do not fly. Once in a long while it's fine. But we expect at least a paragraph or more.
Activity checks. Bleh. As long as you're alive, somewhat active, and noone wants your character, we don't care.
And for the love of everything you hold sacred, please keep it within the ToS and don't throw the F-word around like dollar bills at a strip club.

Good Morning Everyone.
It is time for the monthly review, as I'm sure you are all aware. I expect to see everyone in boardroom 573 today and discuss whether or not one is an asset to the company, a liability, or just fodder.
Yes, I am aware that it is boring. Stop complaining. You know who you are.
To make things interesting, I have had the Turks arrange two obstacle courses, one leading from the stairs and the other leading from the elevator to the boardroom. You will be timed. Decent performances will be rewarded.
Did I mention that parts of the course itself were borrowed from Soldier and the weapons department? No? Well they are, so those who fail to arrive and those who fail to perform will find themselves, quite literally, fired.
This is just a friendly reminder that at Shinra, we pride ourselves on the quality of our employees, not the quantity. Good luck and godspeed.
[I would also like to mention that course leading from the stairs is just slightly easier, until it melds with the elevator one.]

Rufus, darling, you really need to set a better course, my new weapons are just itching to be used! Other than that, I assume my clear time of 6:03 is adequete enough for the standard?
On the other notes that should be stated, I have the prototype to three new weapons that are currently in testing. I've attached a copy of all the specs and like just for you. Just don't let Reno get ahold of this copy, mmkay? I don't need him to make another mess.
You must pardon my rush, for I fear that if I leave my pet too long, she'll get up to some plot to turn my babies against me. Oh, by the by, I used one of our dear, sweet employees as a meat shield during the scatter-spray part of the gauntlet, might want to dispatch a clean-up crew. It was...pretty messy after I was through with it all.
Well then, I've got to run, deadlines to meet and all that!

Oh joy, oh rapture. I'm just about to quake in my boots from excitement at the task you have laid before us just so you can tell me that I am irreplaceable and non-expendable and therefore it doesn't matter if I set fire to the table and dance around it in the nude as long as I remain with the company and then we bicker over my paycheck. I am just so looking forward to this.

Since I'm busy dealing with the large amount of paperwork needing to be filed after the latest Zack incident, I am doing us both a favor and sending a grunt in a silver wig to pretend to be me while I try to do something useful. If he dies in the gauntlet, please send the footage from the security cameras to me so I can have a good laugh while I wade through red tape. I do not know why we need nine different forms for the destruction of each piece of furniture, but I assure you, I will find out.

My dear, a better course would reduce our current employee number by more than half. There is weeding out the weak and pathetic, and then there is being sadistic for no reason. However, if you absolutely insist, I believe that Sephiroth would be easily talked into running another gauntlet for his men. Especially after the last incident.

Alas, this obstacle course is set at a level that is so easy that a Turk can pass through it drunk and blindfolded, which, of course, reduces the average employee to mincemeat. You should have no problem with it, if you choose to go through it.
However, you and the other two Soldier firsts are exempt due to being, what were the words Sephiroth used? Irreplaceable and non-expendable. Of course, the evaluation does determine whether or not your pay increases, but since our esteemed General has decided it's not important, I will assume that you will as well.
