So are there any art groups or art shop people we can buddy up with and help out for some gold in return. Say we help spread the word and get them a few extra customers and we get a % from the people we help bring them? Might be a nice way to have just a steady stream coming in even if its not a large amount, but a little over time adds up.
Can we reach out to guilds from members here that maybe have some wonderful grateful and wealthy members that are looking forward to the ball and may want to lend a helping coin here and there? Guilds often have a nice extra fund for things, and maybe if we gave some links and some advertising space we could get a few coins from that fund.

We could look into the referral suggestion, but as for the asking for donations I am not a fan of that one. We do have a donation thread (which we still don't have a link for, unfortunately) that we can refer people to. That is as close as I'd like to get to asking for donations. It's very difficult to avoid coming across as needy or begging when you're asking for donations.

For shops - could we do an RP help shop?
Say a place where you pay an amount for different levels of help with your RPing style. Maybe it can include a profile layout section if all you want is a nice layout to make you posts look more robust?
the idea would be basic in interaction, making sure you give enough to people you are interacting with so they can in turn reply with stuff to. Showing how to stay away from pit falls of using OOC knowledge even if it seems like a small thing. Showing how to try and get your character to draw a conclusion you see but your character might not over a few posts. Just things I have started seeing now that I have been helped by so many in my RPing skills.

Heralds of Chaos and zOMG! teams. You can earn quite a bit of gold off these. Personally, I'd only play Heralds of Chaos cause zOMG! makes my computer spaz and I hate the lag on it.

50k a day for each player for HoC, supposedly more (with no cap!) for zOMG, many people really enjoy each of these games, this sounds like a good idea.
I'd certainly help out if I could, although current circumstances mighty hinder that... Is there like, a counter anywhere for Ball funds and a current target?

I really like the idea of the HoC teams. People get to have fun while raising funds, so that would be an ideal situation. biggrin

And unless someone figures out the best gold/time plan for it, the teammates could play one another, it'd be a good group thing, plus, a winner every game.

The thing I'm worried about with HoC is that in order to make gold, you have to have time to sit down and play. Half an hour one good, gold-yielding game or so?
Don't get me wrong, I love HoC and I do play it every once in a while when I have time, but I might not be able to spend an hour per day making gold off it. > <
BUT I like the idea Kay suggested, having team members play each other to get as much gold as possible. That's a good idea, actually. (:
Although, I think the best option to get as much gold for the time spent is Booty Grab. (:
I'll see if I have any ideas, because I'm feeling a little brain-dead right now. xD

I am loving these ideas~ I am going to add an HoC team thread!
I am intrigued by the idea of an RP helper shop, though I think that idea would need to be refined and be a little more specific about what services were being rendered and what would be expected in return for what. It would also need to be sorted out what kind of group we'd be targeting, whether it is Barton, guilds, or anyone. Of course then we need to also decide which forum to put it in, who to run it, and so on.
What I have decided for sure is that shop planning is on hold until after the St. Patrick's day fundraising is over, that way we can focus on what we are going to do for that holiday! We can also use it as a test drive for any shops we are considering running, but may be unsure of for whatever personal reasons.
