After watching the movie right this moment my favourite book is The Hobbit. I was never really interested in the LOTR's stuff, but my sister was always excfited.She usually likes pretty good interesting things so I figured yeah.
Other than that I love The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. And some of her current books about Jesus. And her other books written under a different penname...OK lets just say I love Anne Rice, yes.
"Showdown" by Ted Dekker is really good.

They arent immortal, but live longer, run faster, waaaay stronger than humans, and can use a little tool to make runes which do multiple different things. Their job is to keep vampires, werewolves, fairies and so on in check and in balance with one another [though they look down on them a great bit] and they kill any demons that walk into the human realm. The Mortal Instrumentsreally good series, one of my absolute favs biggrin if you like fantasy stuff, definitely worth reading before the movie comes out ina few months

Its hard for me to pick a favorite book, but in general any book by Diana Wynne Jones has become a favorite. She wrote Howl's Moving Castle which was an excellent book. And I love her Chrestomanci series, and within that series the first book "The Lives of Christopher Chant" was definitely my favorite, a great introduction to that world and the lives of those characters.
Also the Thirst series by Christopher Pike is amazing. It was my first foray into the vampire genre, and these vampires were unlike any vampires I'd ever heard or read about so that hooked me repeatedly in the foot and reeled me in. Top that off with great writing and it was a winner. I really love all the books I've read by him so far.

I love the mortal instruments. I remember I got sort of put off in the first series with the idea of the whole possible incest thing that was later changed and I almost didn't keep reading because of it. I'm currently reading Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion after just seeing the movie. My boyfriend recommended the book to me a few months ago but I was afraid I'd hate the movie if I read the book first so I waited. Now I can enjoy both >3 I love so many books...but recently I read Luminosity by Stephanie Thomas and really enjoyed it. I also just finished Dearly, Beloved by Lia Habel, her zombie series is pretty fun and awesome.

I kinda lumped him in with the other authors that wrote books for teens or something. And I must check out Diana as well. Oh! If you're interested in some really good slightly historical dark fiction then I suggest Tom Holland's "Slave of My Thirst"

It sounds really interesting just by the title. As for Christopher Pike, When I picked up the first Thirst book, I thought it was going to be one of those teen books, but something about the way he writes, its very mature and I didnt get those "teen fantasy lived" vibes.

TheCourteJester the two books i mentioned before that have become movies are none other than the mortal instrument series and the host!! EEEEK!! SO EXCIIIIIITED!! TMI is amazing madame if I do say so myself. I have a complicated relationship with it though. I started the first two before the 3rd came out (When it was supposed to be a trilogy) then by the time I got my hands on the third book, I forgot what had happened in the first two and there was a 4th floating around somewhere. I'm trying to recap before the movies comes out. I'm excited as well! Although I have to say the Divergent series tops out TMI for me. RojaZorra Also the Thirst series by Christopher Pike is amazing. It was my first foray into the vampire genre, and these vampires were unlike any vampires I'd ever heard or read about so that hooked me repeatedly in the foot and reeled me in. The Remember Me series was fantastic and I love his book "The Eternal Enemy" might have been my favorite by him

This is so embarrassing...
My favorite books are... *turns red* Artemis Fowl... okay I said it...! A trip to the dentist got me into this series. The receptionist person asked me if I was bored, lead me to a rack of donated books and, since i loved fairies, i picked up the first and second book of the series.. after the first chapter I was hooked..! Dx I also loved Eion Colfer's book, Plugged (a more adult title by the Arthur of Artemis Fowl).
I'm a fan of Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series, Colleen Houck's Tiger's Curse series and I'm currently in love with Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles series. I got Cinder, the first book in the series, a little before Christmas and fell in love after reading the first few pages. I'm currently reading the second book of the Lunar Chronicles series, Scarlet~ @_@
I think the most adult books I read are books by Ryu Murakami. Coin Locker Babies was a long book, but very good and adult.. lol I enjoy a lot of his novels~
@_@;;;; I'm such a child...
