An entire row of small study rooms line the wall of the library. Your group has been shuffled into one of them, with a copy of the book: Poisonous Parasites
Read and research the book, or slack off and do nothing for an hour. The choice is yours. TormentedAngie Christi seems to have wandered in the room without looking..

In which Mengyao stared blankly at the text wondering, as usual, whether there was any possible way he could get out of this and still remain with his dignity intact.
Somehow he doubted the last.
"Well," said Mengyao, still gripping Lifen's hand as though it were a lifesaver, something solid to keep him sane and from whacking various students upside the head with his fan. "Shall we..."
A long pause.
"...read. Perhaps. Maybe."

Sura....just crouched instead of sitting in a chair. Just to be safe.
"I will do...whatever you feel is necessary...." she answered slowly, tone mellow.

Willow grinned at Mengyao before sitting down in a chair. Her tail flickered, "Ah well now." She poked at the book to make sure it wouldn't bite back. "HM Poisonous Parasites sounds.... amazing." Willow was staring side long at the book wondering how they'd ended up with such a book.
Anyways, "Reading sounds like a viable option." She paused, "I wonder if it has pictures." Yup curiously she lifted the cover up and opened the book. Well looked like there was some illustrations.... now the question was who wanted to read?

Christiane kinda inched off towards the rooms. Finding a group was harder than she expected. Maybe if she just found an empty room, no one would know. Looking around, she tried to make sure she wasn't seen as she opened a room door and slipped in.
Problem was, there were already others in the room. Oops! Too late! The werewolf ghoul had two options. Back out while apologizing for heading into the wrong room, or accept that she'd kinda blundered into the mess herself and that getting the assignment done was probably better than the wrath of the teacher anyway.
Christi's ears flattened a bit against her skull as she slunk over to a seat and sat down, hands in her hoodie pockets. "Uhmmmm... Hi.." Was about the best she could muster, rather unsure of herself. She was fairly uneasy, given the fact that she didn't know any of these students. But she sure as hell was going to at least pretend like that wasn't bothering her. She tried to mask her unease as boredom, although she wasn't sure how well it was working.

Well, at least they had found a group. Though, Maple had no idea who any of them were save Willow (there had been no introductions ;A; Willow had just up and gone over to these creeple, at least she knew them). The little witch followed Willow as best she could, even sitting down next to her in silence. She was nervous. They were supposed to read, what if there was a test on what they read? What if it was a group project? What if she brought them down? So many possibilities.
Meekly, Maple turned her attention to the book as Willow read out the title, unsure of it herself. How many parasites did she know of that fit in with the subject of natural forms? Not many. More worry. The ghoul sunk in her seat a little. "S-should w-we d-divide th-the r-reading?" She asked in a very small voice. It might help their workload, but would they even like her suggestion? Oh jack, why did she speak up.
Maple turned as another ghoul entered the room and gave her an uncertain smile.

Fortunately for them no reading would be necessary and pictures were definitely a yes. In fact, how about a live feed?
With the book now laying open, something seemed to twist on the page. Growing darker and darker until--
--the lights went out. Flickering and dimming until eventually they shut off all together. They came back on of course. But only now and again. Just long enough to reveal a large shadowed shape and just as it struck out at you.

All these students were just so interesting, the little horsewoman watching them as they filed in, mis-matched eyes wide with interest. They all came in different shapes and sizes, didn't they, she mused internally as the tallest student talked in her mellowing voice, a sincere little smile showing on her face as she looked up to Sura, before turning to perking up at the one named Willow, lightly leaning in to sort of read over her shoulder, hand still held by Mengyao. It was a little difficult to maneuver around, but he looked so frazzled about being around so many students, she wasn't inclined to complain about it. An anchor, at best.
She meant to go talk to the new student who had somehow slinked her way in to the room, go at the sudden fluttering of pages and the dimming of lights, eyes turning up to the ceiling before a sharp little pain stitched her side, her eyes re-adjusting to see a form that appeared to be . . . spider like.
Letting go of the hand held, she went to punch out with her dominant hand, uncertain if her bow would do any good in such a small room with six people in it.

Oh, she didn't like the small space. Sura actually looked like she was feeling a little bit ill - doubly so when the spider showed up. It wasn't that the spider was there - it was that it was there taking up all her room and she needed that for herself okay?
The Colossus suddenly swung one mighty arm, her docile blue eyes flaring to an aggressive red.

Christiane caught the smile from Maple and nodded slightly before staring down at the table in front of her for but a moment before her eyes went wide as the room went dark. Her eyes had only started adjusting when they came back on and began flickering as.... something began attacking them.
The ghoul sprang up from the chair in a bit of panic as something jabbed her. Ow!!!! Christiane reflexively swiped her claws at the offending shadow/spider. Whatever it was, it had a few too many legs for her tastes! However, her swipe missed.Quote: HP: 26/30 Dmg: Miss Boss HP: 63/75

Why couldn't they have just done some nice reading, Maple whimpered in distress as things went from bad to worse. The lights didn't seem so bad, but all she knew it couldn't be good since the pages of their book had distorted and twisted right in front of them.
But, of course it couldn't be just that and Maple found herself falling out of her chair when the lights came back on for the smallest of moments to reveal the creature towering above them. It really had only struck her arm (which still did sting like a b***h) but the sudden appearance was what really sent her to the floor. She was just glad she hadn't screamed. And that some sort of instinct still remained that allowed her to summon her broom. It at least was small enough to fit in the crowded room but, so terribly not as useful as Lifen's bow would have been.
She didn't know what she was doing really, or what part of her brain was telling her to attack. But, with her grip tight on her broom, she swept her it low and level to the ground in a chance to get at its ... feet? She didn't know -
Well, it wasn't like it did anything. Just hit air, and hopefully no one else. Oh, why didn't she just tuck and roll and go under the table?!

"A big spider, hmm? Better than the last one, at least.." Selene was starting to get numb from seeing the summons, her disappointment at her ruined class now pushed to the back of her mind. Once more, Ren carried her into the room. She squirmed out of his arms and managed to hobble her way over to the book that had summoned the great beast. "Your last lesson for today, scarelings, is very simple, and I hope you will remember it. If you accidentally manage to summon a monster from a book, and you can't fight it..?" Her hand slid under the cover of the book, flicked it up, and slammed it shut. "Close the book."She crawled back up into Ren's arms and was transported off to the other rooms after the monster popped out of existence. "Class dismissed." Quote: Class is over for you now! To be honest, Sura had wanted to hit the spider a few more times for making her uncomfortable in the already small room - but being told she could leave the small room was nothing to complain about by any stretch of the imagination.
Which might have been why she was eager to get out, murmuring a quiet 'I will see you later then, I guess' as she stepped out of the tiny study room.

Maple felt really stupid when she saw Selene come into the room so casually and shut the book and rattle off the simplest of means to rid themselves of the monster that had appeared. It was so simple, and she had reacted just like everyone else, attacking it and making matters worse. Failed, that's all she could realize when she stood herself up from the floor. The ghoul's head hang low, dismissing her broom as the room began to settle down once again.
Maple said barely a word to the others, simply just a small stuttered goodbye, as she gathered her belongings and scampered out the door in her defeat. Urg, that was terrible! Now all she wanted to do was stay in her dorm room for eternity and read, even though books didn't seem all that appealing right now. But it beat what had happened here...

That was it?
She secretly wanted to punch the spider a little more, feeling a little vindicated because she didn't expect something as simple as a book to hold something as large as that. Okay, also, maybe she was a little spooked. Giving an indignant snort, she lightly looked to Mengyao, hoping he would leave the room with her, figuring she needed a bigger space, somewhere not as crowded as they had just been.
Giving everyone else a soft nod in respects, she left the room.
