 It wasn't often that Adaliade wandered away from the safety of her herd. But when one was upset it wasn't proper to stick around and let others see you sulk..so after glaring purposefully at her sibling she'd turned on her heel and stalked off to pout in privacy. Of course in her angry stomping she had wandered a bit farther then she initially meant too but she wasn't to worried..I mean when she felt like going home all she had to do was turn around and walk back the way she'd come right?
Princess' didn't get lost...so it was a moot point regardless. Sniffing with disdain over the way she had been treated Adaliade looked up to find herself in an area she had never been before, the ferns were tall and the trees were wide. Over all she thought it was a pretty sort of place and that mossy rock over there looked like the perfect place to lay down and have a proper sulk. Stomping over to said rock she laid down and flattened her ears with another sniff.

 Evangeline pranced happily through the trees. With her family traveling she got to see plenty of new areas which was fairly exciting. But the problem was her siblings were tired and taking a nap leaving Evangeline with no one to play with. Without giving it much thought other than to tell her parents that she was going to play Evangeline made her way away from where her family was and set out to find a bit of fun. Being alone didn't bother her so much, it was easy for her to find something fun to do, and even if she didn't she was simply happy to be out on a walk. Humming softly to herself Evangeline stepped over rocks, pushed her way through bushes and popped out between two trees.
Her eyes scanned the area and suddenly she noticed there was another foal here. The light purple foal was laying atop a large rock. Evangeline noticed the wings on the filly's back and realized how much they looked like one of her own sets of wings. But then again a quick glance some winds wings looked much like her own. So the question was, was this filly a wind or did she have Angeni blood? And also why did she look sad? Well she would never find out the answers if she just stood here staring so with a wide smile on her face Evangeline pranced over to the rock and looked at the filly. "Hi! My names Evangeline! Who are you?" Her voice was full of friendliness and cheer. She liked the filly's colors, they actually reminded Evangeline a lot of her mother.

Adalaide had closed her eyes and was in the proper mindset for a nice long self pitying sulk, maybe even a tear or two if she felt like it, when all of a sudden a voice intruded on her thoughts. The voice was youthful, unknown and far..far to happy for Adalaide in her current frame of mind. Cracking open an eye she picked up her head and looked down at the other filly. An angeni filly..which took a bit of the ire out of her look and a purple angeni filly at that.
Well that was sort of neat - finding another purple filly like her in the area. But it was absolutely intolerable that this other purple filly who called herself Evangaline did not know who she was. Why everyone should know her! she was a princess! "My name is Adalaide." She told the other filly in a somewhat haughty voice. "Where did you come from? I am pretty sure there are no other purple angeni fillies in the herd right now."

Her smile grew wider as the other filly introduced herself. "It's nice to meet you Adalaide!" And it was, Evangeline was always happy to meet new faces but it was especially exciting when the other was a foal as well. In her travels with her family Evangeline had met plenty of adults but not enough foals to play with. But today she was lucky and now she had another foal besides her siblings to play with. And not just any other foal but one with Angeni blood. At least that's what she gathered from what Adalaide has said. "Oh my family is traveling and we stopped not far from here for a day or two, my siblings are resting so I decided to explore on my own."
Evangeline paused for a moment and then just had to say something about the mention of angeni. "I thought you might have Angeni blood, your wings kind of look like mine. My dad's a pure Angeni, he's actually the Angeni of Allure, but my mom has no angeni blood at all. I have two sets of wings like my dad, my brother has a single set like you and my sister has no wings at all." Having two sets of wings was a bit of a challenge she had to admit but wasn't about to complain about that to Adalaide. "Is your mother or father an Angeni? You mentioned a herd, do you live in the herd here?" She wondered what it would be like to live in a herd, so far she only spend time with her parents and siblings but one day thought it would be nice to find a herd and live with them.

My this other filly had an awful lot to say..and she was soo..happy? Not that Adalaide had a problem with happy really, everyone liked happy but this filly gave her the impression that she was excessively happy. Oh well she was certainly better company then her siblings and other herd members at the moment. Even if she was just a little bit jealous that the other filly obviously had more Angeni blood then herself..and the wings to prove it.
"My grandfather had some Angeni blood, I got my wings from him." She told the other filly proudly. It was actually a point of pride for her..that she had gotten wings when neither of her parents or her siblings had. She was special. In her family at least. And then the filly brought up another source of pride for Adalaide and really how could she help but brag just a little bit given that she hadn't been the one to bring it up? "Oh yes, I technically belong to two herds, my mother is the queen of one herd and my father is the son of the king in another." You see she was just royalty all the way around!

Evangeline nodded her head, looking more closely at Adelaide's set of wings. They sure were pretty! Sure a great shade of purple. As Adelaide explained that her grandfather had wings like hers she let out an excited sound. "Oh that's really neat! So you have wings like your grandpa but your siblings don't? Do your parents have wings?" Adelaide hadn't mentioned whether her parents had wings or not but given the way she had so triumphantly stated that her wings were from her grandfather that Evangeline figured she was the only one with them. That was pretty special! But holy cow not as special as what she was told next!
"Wow! Just wow!" Evangeline couldn't believe it! This filly was the daughter of a Queen and the granddaughter of a King. That was amazing! This was royalty standing before her and Evangeline felt such awe and respect for the other filly now. "You're a princess!" Evangeline exclaimed. She was meeting a princess. Oh just wait until she told her sister this, she would be so jealous! Her brother probably wouldn't care too much, likely would ask if she was pretty, which Adelaide was. "I can't believe I got to meet a princess today! I feel so special!" And then when the realization came to her Evangeline bowed her head to Adelaide, this was the proper way to greet royalty right. "It's really great to officially meet you Princess Adelaide." Then a million and one questions began to run through her head and she couldn't help but ask at least one of them. "So...if you are from two royal lines...which herd would you rule when your older?" She couldn't rule both could she?

Adalaide was quite thrilled when the other filly seemed to understand just why her wings were so very special. Sure she might not have as many as Evangeline had but the very odds against her having them made her more special. At least as far as Adalaide was concerned. "Oh no." She told the other filly with a triumphant look "No one in my immediate family has wings but me." It was a sign..she was sure of it. A sign that she was the filly her mother just had to choose to take over the herds. Even if her sister had inherited her mothers pretty coloring. Wings trumped coloring..she was sure of it!
Of course when the other filly went off about her being royalty Adalaide completely forgot what had made her upset earlier on. Finally someone seemed to get her importance..and treat her with the proper respect! This was the way she ought to be treated all the time. Adalaide gave the other filly a benevolent if somewhat haughty smile and was about to respond when her last question caught her off guard and made her pause. "Well...I don't really know honestly. Perhaps I will merge the Kingdoms.." Yes..there was that option, it would be much easier then splitting her time between two herds like her mother was doing at the moment.

As Adelaide explained that she was the only one, outside of her grandfather, who had wings Evangeline's smile grew even wider. "Wow! That's really special then! I though it was special to have both sets of wings like my dad has even though my brother has a single set...but to be the only one to have wings, that's just amazing! You are so lucky!" Lucky and royalty on top of that, which made Adelaide super amazing lucky in Evangeline's eyes. This was turning out to be the best day ever. How often did one run into royalty after all! Heck she'd love to just stay and chat with Adelaide all day long just to prolong this event.
Evangeline fell silent as Adelaide seemed to be pondering her question about how to rule two kingdoms. When Adelaide settled upon a solution Evangeline gave her head a nod, it sounded like a pretty good plan to her, and even though she herself wasn't royalty she appreciated that Adelaide was not only speaking with her but sharing her thoughts on these things. "Yeah that could work!" She told the other filly excitedly. "As long as the kingdoms are kind of close together. Do you think when I'm older I can come and visit you and your kingdom? I've never seen how a herd works let alone a kingdom, it would be really awesome to get to see that. We can be friends right?" She asked wondering if royalty was allowed to be friends with those who weren't royal in blood as well.

"Oh they are close enough, there are even knights in my Grandfathers herd to help protect my kingdom once it is merged together." She told the other filly in an airy voice, as though this was really no great matter at all - nevermind that the expanse of two herds merged together would be very hard to protect. At her age Adalaide simply did not take such things into consideration.
The question about being friends made Adalide give the other filly a warm look "Of course we can be friends, you and your whole family can come and visit." She assured her, it was important to ensure your subjects loved you, Adalaide was sure of that..her mother was always talking about how important it was to treat others kindly no matter what their station in life was. "You should come and visit me right now! Do you think your family will be staying in the area for any length of time?" Wouldn't her brother be jealous if she showed up with a new friend.

Evangeline gave her head a nod. It was good that Adelaide's two kingdoms were close enough for her to merge them once she became Queen. "I've never seen a knight before, but I've heard some stories about them from my dad, he's says they are very brave and strong and will do anything to protect those who employ them." She would love to see a knight one day which shouldn't be much of a problem if her and Adelaide remain friends.
Her ears perked up when Adelaide said they could still be friends and that her family could come visit. "Wow, that's great. I'm so happy that I get to be friends with a princess." Surely her siblings would be jealous when they found out but that wasn't the reason why she wanted to be friends with Adelaide, no she had simply ran into her, felt a friendship connection and only afterwards did she find out that Adelaide was in fact a princess. "Dad said we would stay here for a few days so I can come see your kingdom now!" She said excitedly. This was turning out to be the best day ever. "Do you think I'll get to see one of your grandfathers knights? I'd really love to see one. And maybe after I can introduce you to my family." She wanted to spend as much time as she could with Adelaide before having to share her with her siblings, so going to see Adelaide's family and lands would come first. And if her parents wondered where she had gone off to her father would be able to spot her from the air quite easily and then she would simply explain that upon meeting Adelaide, who was a princess, she graciously accepted the offer to be shown around and it would be very rude to say no to royalty so her father would not scold her for wandering off.

Adalide considered for a few moments, glancing at the sun as thought to judge the time of day - even thought she knew it was still just morning, it made her look like she was being thoughtful and a princess should always be thoughtful. She was glad to hear that Evangaline and her family would be staying close for a little while, it was kind of nice to be friends with someone who wasn't part of her immediate family, like her siblings..or part of the herd, which always made Adalaide feel like they were being friends with her just because she was a princess.
"I bet we could go and see some of the Knights right now. They are normally training at this time of day. We could watch." She suggested after a few minutes of thoughtful staring. Watching the Knights was actually fun sometimes - they did all sorts of crazy exercises that Adaliade found both amusing and kind of scary. Certainly she would never partake in such things but it was thrilling to watch them do so.

It was hard to remain still as Adelaide seemed to consider the idea of seeing a knight. She didn't want to force her to do anything but it was hard not to be excited, even if they didn't see any knights today there were so many other amazing things they would likely see and do that she was certain she would never forget this day. She wondered about life in a herd, all she had were her siblings and parents and they traveled a lot. How would that compare to living in one area with not only family around all the time but others, those who served you especially since Adelaide was royalty.
Well it seemed like she was about to find out all these things and see knights on top of that as Adelaide confirmed that they could see some of the knights while they trained. Wow, this was even better than expected. Not only would she get to see a knight, but she'd get to see several of them a they practiced and trained. This was definitely the best day ever. Oh her brother would be extra jealous once he heard about this. She smiled widely at Adelaide so happy to have run into the filly out here. "That sounds great! Oh this is going to be so neat! You are so lucky to live in a herd and have knights!" She was practically dancing on the spot with excitement as she thought about it and waited for Adelaide to show her the way.

Excitement was infectious and even thought Adaliade tried very hard not to let it show, to keep nice and calm and collected..'poised' her mother called it..it was really hard to do and she couldn't help but give just the tiniest little hop of excitement as she started off in the direction of the Knight's typical training ground.
"It is a lot of fun." Adalaide agreed as the other stated how lucky she was, but she didn't want the other filly to feel bad about her own lot in life. Her mother was always going on about how important it was to keep from seeming elitest. "But I bet you get to see a lot of interesting places being able to travel around like you do. I really only get to go from one herd to the other and I've seen everything between them by now." She pointed out as they went along, picking up the pace a little bit as she led the other filly to the large training meadow hoping that the Knights would be doing some interesting exercises today and nothing boring so that she could really show Evangaline something neat.

Evangeline smiled widely at her new friend. This was going to be great, she met a princess, was going to get to see her knights and a bit of the kingdom Adalaide would one day rule. She followed happily at the heals of the other filly taking in the area that they passed though with interest though nothing would be as interesting or exciting as seeing the knights. She bet Adalaide's family had hundreds of knights, since after all there were two kingdoms to protect. She wondered if there were any evil Soquili out there waiting for their chance to steal away the kingdom or perhaps even it's princess. Her mind raced at all the possibilities of what she would find to the point she almost missed Adalaide's speaking to her.
"Oh." She finally said realizing finally that she nearly missed it. "Yes, it's pretty neat to get to travel around. We haven't been to a lot of place yet, my parents had to wait til my sibling and I were old enough to travel but there have been a few places I really liked." Her eyes darted around the area once more, still nothing popping up of major interest but the allure of knights kept her going. "Though sometimes I wish we stayed in one place, at least for longer than we do. I don't always get enough time to check out everything before we are moving on again." She paused as distant sound drifted to her ears. There was the sound of hooves hitting the ground, faint at this distance, and she swore something that sounded like grunting and a voice, though she couldn't tell what they were saying. "Is that the knights?" She asked Adalaide excitedly listening to the sound drifting through the trees. Her brother will be so jealous! Of course she wouldn't rub in it that she got to see knight and he didn't...well she probably would a little bit but that was just good old sibling rivalry playing it's part in life.

Honestly Adalaide thought it sounded fairly tiresome to be moving around all the time - sure there was the lure of seeing pretty things but then she also had to think about what she would have to give up..the same comfy place to sleep every night, not having to rush and get up every morning, plenty of her favorite food around and knowing where to find it..water whenever she wanted it. Yes a life on the road might sound exciting but Adalaide was sure that herd life was better in the long run.
"Is there a reason your parents don't just find a herd to live with?" She asked mostly out of curiosity but was then distracted by the other fillies question and pricking her ears gave a slight nod. Mmmhmm, it sounds like it, Ironforge always trains his Knights at this time of day." She told the other filly and as they topped a small rise to look out over a wide meadow they were in fact rewarded with the sight of Ironforge and his Knights in training. "Ironforge is the big shaggy one, the rainbow colored one is Kale and the one with the pink wings is Mercy." She shared with Evangaline.
"We can go closer if you want." She offered, though the hill offered the best view she knew that some liked to watch from a little bit closer, and perhaps one of the Knights would even come and speak with them during a break..that would be sure to excite her new friend,
