Read and research the book together, or slack off and do nothing for an hour. The choice is yours.

Siddie angled her head at Gabby thoughtfully. Was the boil really not going to study at all? It looked like he wasn't. She crossed her arms. "If we have a project about this and you don't contribute," she said evenly, "I am not doing your part, and I am making sure Miss Selene knows you didn't contribute." At one point, she'd been the kind of ghoul who'd have just let Gabby get away with it and not done a thing or even really cared. Not so much now. Gabby might be regretting his decision to let a bossy shadow ghoul come along now. Possibly.

If Marzena wanted to be selfishly petty about it, she would have been absolutely fine with Gabriel not reading the book because he didn't need to know so much about selkies anyway. Especially when he hung out with Sibyl.
But, it was just as the other ghoul had said. They were a group and they would do this together. Besides, there wasn't really much to know. "It's not that difficult." She said evenly. "The natural form of selkies is a seal. It just depends on which kind of seal, for example, Sibyl's is a leopard seal and mine is....n't." She was actually about to say what sort of seal she was if not for the fact that the word is meant present tense, and she certainly didn't have a seal form now.

Sibyl proudly carried the book over her head as they were escorted into the room, pouting when Gabby made it clear he wasn't going to read. "Noooo, Gabby! You have to! I'll make you read some of it to us~." And she would. She would make Gabby read out loud to them. It could be like story time! And Gabby probably had the best story time voice.
The book was set down on the table as Marzena began to explain a little about selkies. Marzena was so smart; the ghoul was perfection in every way, this was why she was Sibyl's idol. Sibyl just looked at the other ghoul for a moment before she smiled and gestured to her. "Marzie's shy, but she's a spotted seal. It's super cute!" She announced proudly, unknowingly being..kind of embarrassing by calling Marzena cute. But she was! It was true! And Marzie would get her form back, Sibyl was sure of it. There were no doubts in her mind and she would do everything in her power to help Marzena. No stupid sea witch could get the better of them! "I would show you guys mine if I could..." But surely the book would explain how it worked. Sibyl was wishing their natural forms weren't locked down inside the school, it would be so much fun to show everyone what she looked like!

"You'll make me do no such thing." Gabby unplanked from the two chairs and sat up straight, glowering at everyone except Siddie (something told him that was a bad idea.) "Just read it for us. I'm up now, I'm listening, ugh."
That table sure looked soft.. maybe he could just... put his head down for a mi- ... he stole a look at the shadow ghoul, coughed quietly, and remained in a seated position.

"I don't mind reading." Siddie smiled brightly. She just didn't want to get saddled with doing somebody else's part of an assignment; with that possibility settled as being out of the way, she was just fine with helping.
She reached for the book and flipped open the cover, getting ready to read out loud.

No sooner as the book had been opened, water suddenly splashed onto Siddie's lap. A massive shadow suddenly quivered behind her, blubber bristling with muscle and malice as a quivering nose arched upward with a trumpeting, "HAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAUUUUG!!!" The book had other ideas about study time. Before Siddie could so much as blink, the massive elephant seal came crashing down upon her... but somehow managed to miss. It was hard to direct that much mass, ok?  HP: 75 Damage: MISS Target: Siddie

Gabby was ready to zone out completely and just stare at Siddie as she read, daydreaming about her and Sammy, when the splash of water made him stare. Was that.. what happened when ghouls had their time of the - OH.
.. Oh.
"OH @$#*!" Gabby picked up his chair and threw it at the head of whatever the great beast that loomed behind Siddie, was. If it was a student in their natural form? WELL IT WAS THEIR FAULT FOR SCARING HIM.

Siddie shrieked and threw herself backwards reflexively as a huge seal came crashing out of the book at her. It was a miracle that the creature didn't hit her, really. She took an automatic swipe at it; however, in her surprise, she had neglected to grow her talons, and her hand just bounced off the seal's blubbery hide.
She scrambled backwards and pushed herself to her feet, extending her fingers into claws somewhat belatedly. "We're just trying to study here! Get out!" she yelled at the seal.
HP: 40/40

"Will so!" Sibyl retorted, pouting at Gabby. The only thing that could stop her from insisting that Gabby read to them was the arrival of a new friend.
...A special new friend...
Sibyl knew elephant seals. She knew of an unfortunate male selkie who was an elephant seal. Even as a human-looking boil he had an unusually large nose, but they'd been told there were some humans just known to have large noses as a stereotype. Or something like that.
Elephant seals were just silly, but they were so misunderstood. Just because someone had a big nose didn't make them evil!
"Oh no! Guys no wait stop! It's not his fault he was born hideously deformed with a big ugly nose!" Sibyl flailed and watched a chair fly toward the seal. Noooo! She ran over and hugged it. "He just wants to be friends!" See? Friends!
It's okay, Sibyl understands you. Sibyl's got your back. She didn't just completely insult you.

Sammy had taken to pacing the room for the most part. SHe would help out where she could, but mostly follow Siddie's lead. Speaking of leads she looked at Gabby, her hollowed eye sockets filling with flames.
It seemed he only held respect for Siddie because she was being the boss of the team. "You'll do what Sid says, you slack off and you'll have me after class. Selene or not, I don't like people who huff at my ghoulfriend and someone as sweet as Sibyl."
Moving to take a seat she relaxed a bit watching everyone chat. Things where going to be oh-
Of course. This was Amityville.
A giant a** Walrus blasted out from the pages of the book, sending everyon scrambling.
"NEW LESSON; a** KICKING 101. BACK IN THE BOOK BLUBBER NUGGETS!"
Grabbing said book she gave the Walrus a good thump to the head, not aiming for anything lethal, but it would be best if Sibyl's new friend took a little nap.

Shy? In a way, maybe. But Marzena was certainly shy in a I don't really care about you way, not in a I'm terrified of you way. But whatever. As long as she didn't have to explain her condition.
She was about to get ready to listen to Siddie read about what she presumably already knew (but hey, maybe there was something to learn from the pages of a dedicated book) when--
"What." Marzena leaped up from her seat, watching the intruder with wide eyes. A seal. An elephant seal. What in the--
"Sibyl, be careful." She said, inching closer to where the ghoul had hugged the seal, eying the huge creature warily. Marzena didn't exactly want to hurt a seal either, but this was a magical seal. From a book.

"HAAAOOOOOOOOUUUUU!!!" The elephant seal howled, clearly perturbed by the attacks- especially the hug. He did what Elephant seals did best: He reared upright, and then tried to slam his massive form against the tiny Sibyl. Luckily for her, a chair got in the way of most of the flop, propping him up precariously as he gave a fresh disapproving bleat. HP: 67 Damage: 2 Target: Sibyl

See? He just wanted to be friends! He was even rearing up to return her affec-- Wait-- Wait no he wasn't he was-- "You're not very nice!" Sibyl cried out when he slammed down on top of her. The ghoul made a fist with her hand and bopped him right on his big stupid nose. Or she tried, she only really ended up hitting him on the side of his neck and doing absolutely no harm to him, it was hard when his big fat body was pinning her down. His skin jiggled when she hit it. Sigh. "Too heavyyyyyy! WHY ARE YOU SO FAAAAAAAAT?" Even Sibyl's blubbery seal body still had some baby fat to it and she wasn't as heavy as this seal! Clearly someone needed to put this seal on a diet. "No more penguins for you, Mister!" Yeah, Sibyl. You tell him! That'll teach him to be fat.. ...Yeaaaaah. HP: 28/30 Damage done: none of course
