Leaves rustled gently above, casting strange shadows as the moon's light passed to the forest floor. Eirith wasn't able to see the shadows or the moonlight though as she still wore her mask. Stopping her steps, she listened carefully a moment. She had wandered from her home- the cave she resided in with her parents- while the sun had still been in the sky. She was less likely to be followed if she traveled during the day.
She really hoped she hadn't been followed. Eirith desperately wanted at least a few hours away from her family to explore on her own now that she was finally old enough to take care of herself. There was something she had to deal with on her own, something that wasn't anyone else's business.
Hearing nothing too suspicious, she continued on. She kept her transparent wings tucked close to her body. The soft purple glow emanating from them like a beacon, which she knew made her easier to find.

"Nnn..."
The stallion moved slowly forward, his hooves brushing on the ground slowly. He didn't feel like moving; his footfall barely grazed the ground as he walked. Phosgene sighed, eyes narrowing toward the ground as he walked, his mind trying to block out the slight pain. Every time he took a step forward on his right leg, he limped. The pain was much harsher tonight than he was used to. It felt as thought it was throbbing even more than he had liked. Generally on certain nights, they hurt more. And it was usually on days where the moon was fuller in the sky; or rather close. He glanced up toward the bright moon, frowning at the sky. His purple eyes flickered for several moments, before he breathed out a sigh and shook his head, continuing forward, limping slowly along the forest. He was tired of roaming around with no actual place to go; but at the same time he couldn't do anything. He had to go. He had to keep moving. His friend had aided him to open up slightly, but he, at the same time, didn't know. He didn't want to stay in this place, watching and waiting forever.
So he walked. Phosgene tilted his head slightly, staring up toward the sky. It had taken years for his friend to aid him, and help him to advance into a place within himself where he could feel comfortable, and didn't feel as though he was... well... trapped. Shakes his head, his wings, which had slowly disappearing from his body as he matured ( though had stopped not far back, and was able to stay in a somewhat stable place ) folded against his back. He glanced back at his wings, the rabbit like ears shifting, against his head, perking, before flopping forward almost lazily. What was he going to do with himself? He had told her he needed to think, to wander around and see if he could find himself. But...
Shaking his head, Phosgene growled softly, his long tail flicking behind him. He glanced back over toward his tail, and stared for a few second, before he moved forward and breathed in the air. "Hm..." Deciding that water was his best bet right now, he moved toward the sound of water, but stopped, his eyes flickering and locking on something in the distant. Light purple orbs stared into the darkness, his body stilling for several seconds. There was something out there; something glowing. Purple? What was it? He frowned, before shifting slightly and flicked his long tail, muscles twitching lightly. What was this? Someone was so close to him? He wasn't use to that. He wasn't used to anyone being anywhere near him ( well, the badger was close to him now, but he considered her a good friend ). Now there was someone else... who was it... Shaking his head some, he stopped his movements to stare forward into the darkness at the purple light.

A shuffling sound caught Eirith's ears making them twitch and she stopped once again to listen carefully. She waited a while but all she heard now was the water softly flowing in the distance She started moving once again, altering her path slightly. She knew the direction she had heard movement from, and it definitely hadn't been a small animal. She moved carefully, her steps light as she made her way closer to the water and at the same time closer to the source of the sound.
Eirith didn't mind if she met up with another creature out here, as long as it wasn't her family. Halting her movements once again, she breathed in deeply, taking in the smells around her. Someone else was definitely near by. A part of her mind reminded her that she should be cautious, as it could be an enemy or someone who would do her harm. She might be in some danger, being unable to take flight at the moment. Too much tree cover. But really, she didn't care and suddenly, she just didn't want to be alone anymore.
"Hello…My name is Eirith…It is nice to meet you." She started speaking, not knowing if anyone was within hearing distance or not. But hoping someone would at least answer if they did hear.

Phosgene’s body stopped short. He heard something, large ears flicking up somewhat. There was someone out there, someone who was close. He frowned a bit as he shifted to allow himself to pace a bit. He had seen something before, but the voice was evidence that he wasn’t alone. His wings folded somewhat on his back, eyes lingering along the river bank as he tried to figure out just where the voice was coming from. Shaking his head some, he started to pace back and forth, and tried to locate the creature for sure. It was then that he saw the movement, and then the stopping of it. That was it. Over there. He tilted his head, before he shifted forward and slowly stopped himself from getting too close. Instead, he stared forward, and out toward the creature ahead of him, analyzing it with curious lavender eyes.
She was mostly white, with accents of a slight blue and pink tin on her legs. Her hair was short, and bunched at a certain area, and seemed to be gray fading down to a dark red. A mask covered her head, though it could also be considered a helmet. He wasn’t sure. But what was really startling was the large, seemingly glowing wings that were attached to the mares back. Phosgene had never seen anything like it. He frowned, tilting his head to the side as he analyzed the mare curiously. Who was she? What was she doing out here, so close to the area he had claimed to be his home. After all, he didn’t often venture away from his slight nest, and tried not to interact with others. But she was far too close to his area for him not to have to interact.
She was speaking, and she was trying to get him to talk back. He frowned somewhat, before tilting his head and stepped a bit closer, curious. His ears flicked a bit, before he let out a small hiss in response. He wasn’t sure what to say, wasn’t sure what to do. His tail flicked, and it curled around his leg some, before he stopped short, and stared toward her through the trees. What was he to say to her speaking? He wasn’t sure. He was scared, honestly. Only the badger lady was nice to him; all others seemed to run him off or scream. They didn’t understand the pain he went through every day just by living. Glaring at the ground, he let his hoof drag a bit, before lifting his eyes. Would this mare run, or would she stay? Would she attack, or would she be amazed by him? He wasn’t sure, and it scared him more than he thought imaginable. Taking half a step forward, to where his head and neck, and part of his chest was visible, the rest still hidden in the trees.
”Hn… E… Erith…” Phosgene murmured, letting the word be learned by his mouth, so that he could remember it for later use, due to still learning how to speak.

Her ears swiveled around at she listened for a response. She knew something or someone was out there. Then she heard the movement again, followed by a soft hissing sound. She hadn't encountered very many creatures that hissed. Cats and snakes perhaps.. but this creature was nothing like that. The creature she had stumbled upon was a stallion; she could tell that much without being able to see him. And since he hadn't attempted to attack her yet, she assumed he wasn't a malicious sort. But something was off about the feeling she was getting from him. She couldn't pin point it, but she knew he must be different from anyone she'd met. Good… She needed to encounter someone… different.
Eirith tilted her head, her ears perking forward in interest. She could hear the stallion moving a bit closer and she took a step toward him as well. She titled her head to the side a bit, allowing her to see him ever so slightly through the crack in her helm. He was mostly shadowed, but she caught a glimpse of bright pink hair in the moonlight, and teeth?…and something strange about the top of his head, his ears… Slowly she turned back toward him, hiding him from her view.
"Hmm? Yes, that is my name. May I ask yours?" she asked calmly. More calm than she felt. Her calm exterior was flawless, betraying none of her true emotions.

Phosgene glanced over the mare with the large wings curiously. His tail flicked lightly behind him, and he let out a small grunt as she seemed to listen to him. The small stallion shifted his wings some, before having them folded tightly against his back. He usually used them to make himself seem bigger; though at the moment, he was rather at ease. He let out another grunt, hissing softly under his breath as she spoke again. His slit eyes lingered on her, before he dipped his head down to draw air through the bones in his nose, taking in smells. He lifted his head once more, before baring his sharp fangs at her once more.
At the question of his own name, Phosgene frowned. It was rare for people to stay long enough to ask. He shifted some, pawing lightly at the ground with his bone shown legs. The pointed bit of his hoof dug lightly in the dirt, before he grunted once more, and murmured lightly under his breath, a hiss at the edge of his tone. "Phosss... gene." He hissed out, his tail flicking lightly behind him once more. If she wanted to know his name, he could tell her... right?
