Lately Delilah had been striking it well with her cameo collection. Even though she had spent nearly half of her holiday money on one recently, it had not deterred her from looking at other places.
And that was what she was doing not as her eyes scanned the items in another Destiny City store. This one seemed to have more vintage items than antiques which meant she might be leaving with a few pieces of wearable costume jewelry. But that didn't stop her from picking up several items of interest. Presently, her eyes were on clock and set of books. Fading leather always made her smile.

The vintage store was quite pleasant, Fritz decided, and a perfect place to gain inspiration for several of his more modern art pieces. There was a never ending supply of stuff in vintage stores - little metal gadgets, glass figurines, mountains of jewelry and brooches and pins, beaded dresses and wire frames. An artist's dream.
Which was why he was standing in the middle of one at the current moment, his arms already piled full of things, of which included a pair of old, moth-eaten lace sweaters for a girl, several strands of off-white pearls, a handful of slightly rusted metal hairpins, and a bag of what appeared to be an ancient carved chess set.
This was also why, when Fritz happened to round a corner, he couldn't entirely see where he was going and wound up colliding with whoever was standing beside a small bookshelf.
Everything went tumbling to the floor. Fritz gave a yelp of surprise and hopped backwards, eyes widening.
"Oh, bollocks - "
He knelt down to pick everything up again, noticed a pair of shoes among the things, and discovered that what he had run into was not, in fact, a shelf or a stand, but a young woman who appeared to be a few years younger than himself.
He smiled at her. "Pardon my, er somewhat graceless intrusion into your shopping," said Fritz, with a slightly sheepish laugh. "I need to learn to not carry so much at one time..."

Delilah had been reaching towards one of the books on the self, interested to see what the faded writing said, when she suddenly felt a mass of 'stuff' coming towards her. The looming shadow in the corner of her eye suddenly appeared to be far closer than she expected and had her hand not already been reaching out towards the book case, she might have been on the floor as well. Balance was not her strong suit.
With one hand gripping onto the shelf, Delilah managed to only misstep slightly before looking back to see what had suddenly run into her.
A pile of random items laid in a heap on the floor connected to what suddenly appeared to be a man and from his voice, a British one at that. Who else would say 'bollock?'
Looking down at him, she returned his smile with a half shrug. "I'm surprised you could. I would never manage to hold such a large collection at one time." Delilah returned as she dropped to her knees and picked up several of the items to help him. Her hand came to the carved chess set first and stopped. Carefully picking them up, she eyed a few of the pieces. "These are beautiful. They look just like ivory!" She said with a thrilled tone.

At least he hadn't knocked her entirely over, Fritz thought with some relief, though really he needed to learn how to walk on his own two feet and not keep dropping everything. It was like the paints in the street all over again.
He gave a laugh. "I have a habit of, er, overburdening myself, so to speak," he said, by way of explanation. "Really, there's just so much in this store I could go through, and I couldn't stop gathering things, so..."
Fritz gave a little shrug, as though that wasn't really the best explanation, resuming picking up things. He was in the middle of reaching for a pawn that had rolled away when he heard the girl's voice again, and he turned his head, smiling brightly.
"Yes, aren't they?" he said enthusiastically. "I was so lucky, they were buried beneath a bag of old clothing in the corner over there, by the box of old jewelry."

Delilah picked up the queen and flipped it over in her hand several times. The piece was heavy but beautiful in her finger tips. She really had never seen something like it. Even if it wasn't pure ivory it was a close imitation. Someone had been skilled.
"Was there anything else you saw over there? Something in the jewelry box?" She asked glancing back over at him with a glint in her eye as she handed him back the queen and reached to grab the rest of the bag or pieces. Most had luckily stayed in their bag so they weren't diving around the store. As she picked up a few piece herself to help him balance, Delilah stood back up and took a quick inventory of what they each held.
"Once you started I see you couldn't stop. Maybe you should see if they have something you can use to hold them all?" Delilah commented glancing around to see if there might be a bag somewhere. If not, maybe the front would hold them while he looked?
" What are you going to do with all these pieces?" Her eyes glanced then at the hair pen. That could be an interesting piece to change over and use as a shirt hold. "There seems no rhyme nor reason so I have a small guess you aren't a collector."

The chess pieces were his best find of the day, that was for certain, and running into (literally) someone who appreciated the craftsmanship as much as he did was quite as good as that. Fritz took the queen back and nestled it carefully into its place in the box before replacing the lid and standing back up, hauling the rest of his items with him.
"I'm sure there were some things in the jewelry box," he said, a little regretfully. "But I'm afraid I, er, ran out of hands, so to speak."
He gave a small, sheepish laugh, as he held up his stash of finds, but then Fritz smiled brightly, glancing around. "If there's a box somewhere I could stick these in...or maybe an old trunk of sorts, that would be fun."
His eyes flickered back towards the girl. "Oh, no," he said cheerfully. "I'm not a collector, I'm an artist. Most of these will be for inspiration pieces while I'm painting, or for statues. I like old timey stuff, vintage, you know?"
A few of the items in his arms shifted as Fritz held out a hand.
"I'm Fritz, by the way. Fritz St. James."

Impressed that he could still move under all that 'stuff', Delilah stuck out her own hand and took his. "Delilah White. It's a pleasure." As she pulled back, her movements went to guard his treasures from landing on the floor again.
"An artist?" Her voice was surprised now as she placed a hand on her side and looked around. Noticing a trunk against the wall, Delilah reached out for Fritz's shoulder. "I take it you do mostly still-life pieces then?" Even though she was talking, the ravened haired teen was trying to point out the chest hidden from view. No one would bother his things she believed. Besides, she was sort of interested in what might be inside of it.
"That is the one thing about these stores. Ask you and you recieve." With a smile, she flipped open the lid to find what looked like rolls of white silk. With a cautious look, she reached in and pulled it out. "Oh!" She smiled as an old wedding unfolded in her arms. The sleeves and bottom had turned yellow with age but the main body was still rather cream colored. "This could be used for so many things!" Her voice sung now.

"Delilah," said Fritz, shaking her hand firmly. "And that is quite a lovely name, I might add. Very elegant and old-timey. Though," he added quickly. "not in a bad way. It's a rather...how shall I say...vintage sounding name, wouldn't you say? An uncommonly pretty sort of name."
Once he was done rambling about her name he followed her gaze to the trunk in the corner and gave a bright smile, heading towards it. He dumped his pile of things beside it and knelt with her, curious to see what was inside.
"Yes, mostly still lifes," he said cheerfully. "Though I do also draw comics. My brother and I have a webcomic that we release weekly, and that's sort of like my release."
The trunk proved to be just as interesting inside as outside. Fritz ran his hands along the silk, marveling at the graceful fabric, the intricate detailing in the stitching.
"And this," he said grandly. "is exactly why these shops are so appealing, aren't they?"

A smile traced across her face as Fritz seemed to take in her name. It was nice to be complimented on something she treasured but the 'old-timey' had her raise and eyebrow. Most of her attention was still on the fabric in her hand but she broke long enough to cast him a look of amusement. He had covered it nicely. "Maybe that explains why I have an admiration of the old" Delilah commented as she stepped back to allow him room to move.
Though she listened to him, her hands were tracing the lace details and the buttons on the back. "A few alterations and this could be turned into a rather lovely summer dress." Who she was speaking to at that moment was a mystery but her red eyes lifted upward.
"What do you think? Something worth giving new life to?"
It was then she realized he had said something she didn't 100% catch. "Wait, webcomic? Aren't those the things people make to show the inory in their lives?"
