It was his troubled mind that made him ask if his family could go hiking in the mountains, to Mont Blonc. It wasn't such an odd request - Lorne enjoyed hiking and nature, but he'd chosen the location specifically. He wanted to find his signet ring. At least then he could make contact with some of the other knights... His family had been talking about moving to France permanently. He needed some way to know what was happening. Maybe even someone who would house him if he could convince his family to send him back.
Of course, sending your son back to a city with so much crime and mysterious disappearances really didn't seem like the best parenting... He needed a plan. He needed to get in contact with someone. He needed to find his ring.
While his parents chatted and laughed as they hiked up the mountains, Lorne pushed ahead, eager to reach the ruins higher up. He had a good feeling what he was looking for would be found there. He wasn't sure how, just a feeling in his gut, nagging at him.
He was out of breath by the time he reached the ruins. His parents had fallen behind. While normally he would have felt bad about leaving them like that, he needed the time alone. This wasn't the first time he'd been here, but it was the first time since he'd become a Page. He let his feet lead him as he wondered about the fallen stone and snow. Until finally the sun sat in just the right way, and a glimmer of gold caught his eye. It was there, up high on one of the tallest pieces of stone wall.
Lorne climbed the fallen stones surrounding, slipping on the occasional patch of snow until finally he reached up and felt around. Just a little further he reached and finally felt something smooth among the jagged rock. Drawing his hand back, it was there - thick and gold with a purple stone and the insignia of Saturn. he stared at it, turning it over in his hand for a moment. He had expected something grand to wash over him after he found it, but no dice.

He heard a scuffle of footsteps nearing and he quickly pocketed the ring and turned to see his mother and father cresting the trail.
"Hey mom 'n dad!" He greeted them with a smile.
Lorne had his rin. Now to plan the next phase of his...plan.
