The shrine that she and Olo had come upon in their travels was a serene place. When she had told Olo that they were going to venture away from the herd and have some alone time Synestra never expected to stumble upon a place like this. Her son was enthralled with the quiet that lived in this area and the beauty of the shrine. She had hoped to find someplace along the way that he would enjoy and after spending a short amount of time here she knew nothing else would come close to how special this place was. To make it even better for him the two Usdia who lived at the shrine were a welcome surprise. They were the keepers of the shrine, well the mare was, while her adopted daughter Whisper was in training.

"Why don't you go play with Whisper." She suggested to Olo as they stood at the base of the shrine. "I bet she can show you lots of interesting things." It would give her time to speak with the mare and also having Olo spend time with a foal other than his brother would be good for him. There weren't many other Usdia around where they lived so she wanted him to enjoy himself and experience something new before they had to return home.

Olo had been surprised to find Usdia at the shrine, especially when they found out that the mare was the keeper of the shrine and her daughter would one day follow in those footsteps. The filly was small, even for an Usdia and so he was almost too shy to ask her to play. What if she fell and got hurt due to her small size? But after a little while of watching her Olo realized that her size was nothing to worry about and so he became a bit intrigued by the filly. At his mothers suggestion Olo looked sheepishly at the filly. He'd only ever played with his brother and adults of the herd, well and there had been that one Usdia filly he had come aross while following a centipede, but other than that his experience with others his kind and size was limited.

"Okay." He said quietly to his mother before turning his gaze to Whisper. He wasn't used to talking, preferring to sit back and silently observe but he managed to find his voice. "We can play whatever you want." He told her. From his experiences with Syrrin always making him play what he wanted and not giving Olo much of a choice he didn't want to force her to play a certain game. Plus he was curious about the area around the shrine as they hadn't been able to see all of it when they had arrived.

The small filly looked to her mother for approval and when she saw the small nod from the mare her smile became apparent. There had been plenty of visitors to the shrine since she had come out of her basket yet very few of them were Usdia and even less often were there any foals coming along. Seeing the mare and colt arrive had been an exciting thing and noticing the colts shyness set Whisper at ease. She was a small quiet foal herself and had Oloneric been full of energy she might not have felt so at ease around him, especially not alone. And now this was her chance to shine, to show him around her home and shrine, show him the world she lived in and loved so much.

His suggestion that they would play whatever she chose made her smile a bit more. "Let's go exploring." Though generally quiet Whisper could be quite enthusiastic when it came to things like showing others around. Turning she stepped delicately down the path that lead away from the shrine and into the surrounding area. The shrine sitting at the base of the mountain was surrounded by forest that provided lots of places to explore. "There's a pond down this way, the water is so clear you can see the fish swimming around at the bottom." She told Oloneric cheerfully as she led the way into the trees that proved a short cut to the pond, though she was forced to make a bit of a detour around a fallen tree that blocked her initial path through the forest. The path wasn't too far away from where they had cut into the forest and though her legs were short she covered the ground quite quickly. "Here it is. Isn't it near!" Whisper leaned over the edge of the water to peer down into the water, taking in the lush underwater plants and the fish that darted between them.

Olo gave his mother a final look before following Whisper down the trail. At first he kept his pace slow so that he wouldn't force her to run, but it didn't take Olo long to realize that he was actually slowing her down. Though her legs were short she moved swiftly down the path as she led him towards a pond. This made him think of something his mother often told him and his brother, that they should never let their small size get in the way of doing things, if they wanted to do something then they should do it even if it proved challenging or looked impossible. Picking up his pace so he could keep up with her Olo followed her into the trees excited to see the pond.

Moving around the fallen tree he kept up pace with her until she suddenly stopped and he nearly ran into her. Stepping to the side Olo looked into the water that stretched down a good distance and watched the fish move about. "We have a stream near our home, it has fish in it, but they are different than the ones here." The fish in the stream were small and often silvery in color where as the ones here ranged in size and color. It was really neat! "There's so many of them." He commented as he eyes followed the fish darting around the underwater plants.

Whisper glanced up at Oloneric as he watched with wide eyes. She was glad he was enjoying the pond and found it interesting that he had something similar at his own home, though he said the fish weren't as numerous as they were here. "There's another pond on the other side of the shrine and it has huge fish it!" She told him in an excited tone. Those fish seemed enormous to her and she enjoyed laying at the waters edge for hours on edge watching them swim lazily around while their big mouths opened and closed. "I can show you those if you want." He seemed to like the fish and finally having another foal to play with got her non-shy side to come out in full force.

"Or we could look around the forest. There's always neat stuff there. Or go to the meadow. Mom says I shouldn't go out there by myself but if you're with me it should be okay." It made sense to her, having Oloneric come along would mean that she wasn't alone and therefore not breaking the rules. "Oh I know!" She announced excitedly and then raced off into the trees. After several strides she skidded to a stop remembering about Oloneric and turned to face him. "Come on I know the perfect place to go!" Turning once more Whisper took off at a fast trot, she didn't want to leave him behind but her excitement about remembering this certain spot made it hard to keep her pace any slower than it was now.
