 Horizon was running slower than she was used to, but even she knew that one should be careful with the children that were settled low in her belly. She had been raised carefully by her parents, though one wasn't her parent in blood, but she felt none of their desire to raise her children carefully. Some things were simply beyond a parent's control. There was certainly a reason why all her siblings, including her, had taken after their blood father though he hadn't been around as they were children. They simply were meant that way. She would love her children, but it would not be a love that caught her and settled her at their side. She had to run, and for this she could not begrudge her blood-father. And unlike her brother, did not war with herself against these desires or hate her blood-father for it, no bitterness in his thought.
It would be some peace of mind to her, however, if she could find a legendary. Her mother had told her, before she left forever, of the kindness the swamp-blessed possessed and that they could grant her some solace even if she were to leave her children to fend for themselves after their hatching. And so she searched.

Even at her slower pace, Fish Bones is hard pressed to keep up with her. He wonders if running is uncomfortable when one is pregnant, or if she is moving slower for the sake of the younglings she carries. Perhaps both, carrying that extra weight must be uncomfortable, maybe even painful, and a fall at full speed would hurt more then the mother. Fish Bones pulls his thoughts back to the run when he sees the path turns on itself, putting on an extra burst he cuts through the underbrush, coming out ahead of her on the turn. He stands in full view, though off to the side to keep from tripping her up. Watching the doe round the bend he waves his paws, almost as though to flag her down. Which is his intent, but he must look a bit odd, a random foxbun waving at a kin.

She rounded the bend ears alert, but her head had been high, eyes searching for the tall, striking figure that her mother had spoken of, not that of a small foxbun. Horizon had nearly passed by when the movement caught her eye and though her first thought was what a nice meal a waiting foxbun would be, but then, it hit her that it was exceedingly strange for a foxbun to simply sit, nearly in a kin's way and, well, this one was waving. Not only that, but on closer inspection, this one had glowing eyes. Immediately, the doe knew that this was a legendary and dipped down into a low graceful bow, the burden of children having not taken her athlete's grace from her. "Swamp-blessed one, it is an honor."
Unlike her mother, she possessed little shyness and, though not particularly forward, was willing to forgo the usual polite niceties to give her children the best shot at life, "Forgive me, but you are probably aware that I am with child, and if it would be within your favor, I ask for a blessing. I would be grateful for whatever you deem best. I only hope that they will enjoy life and not be at war with themselves."
Perhaps too much wariness of self-denial had been placed in her heart by that one brother who hoped to deny the need to wander, who tied himself down out of bitterness for what cannot be helped, and so, though she did not speak so, she also hoped that her children would not think any less of her for not raising them as her mother and father did.

Fish Bones gives her request thought, wondering if it is she who wars with herself or someone she knows. Moving close he sits up on his haunches, resting on paw on her leg and stretching to get the other on her chest. He waits a moment, feeling the beat of her heart, before replying, May your children have peace in their hearts. Fish Bones waits another beat or two before easing himself down. Giving her a pat on her ankle, he turns and runs back into the foliage.
