Life was wonderful for the purple Elder. She had stayed within the safety of her fathers herd her entire life with only a few trips outside to explore she felt well lived. It was on one of these trips she had intended to just gain space for her thoughts but had returned with her mate. It was a quick and marvellous relationship that she would not change for the world, and she was not surprised yet a little taken back when she sired his foals so soon into their time together. Peren had birthed three beautiful foals and had accepted an orphaned boy just before bringing Charger and her's foal count to four. For the first time mother it was a lot and though she struggled she was easing into it now with the help and ever support of her Charger.

Throughout her life she'd made a goal of at least meeting the numerous members of her massive family, connected to so many inside and out of the Moonlight herd. At this stage of life she was starting to feel satisfied she had met most, though would not be shocked to discover others. But it was one member in particular whose absence made her heart ache, what Peren felt was the missing piece to her lifes puzzle. She saw her siblings, full blooded and otherwise from time time and though she could wish for a closer relationship, especially with her twin, she could not argue that life had taken some far and wide. It had given them responsibilities which she could not quarrel against a meeting with one had informed her of the person she so wished to see.

Her Mother, Shula.

The pain of being without ones mother comes easily for some but for her it had always been a struggle. As a youngster she awaited eagerly whenever her mother would visit and now with one of her foals carrying the colours from his grandmother she wanted to seek her out. Would she of heard of her grandchildren, would she care for them or even Peren herself? The thought worried and concerned the Lyra but she had to try, she had to speak to her, she knew so much more about love now and had even accepted that her mother and fathers relationship had probably not been one of love. All the same she had questions, and a general desire to complete her life, to see her mother, even just to acknowledge she still breathed.

User ImageShula had always tended to be a wanderer, too restless to spend too long on one place. Being as such, it had been a long while since she had set eyes on these lands. Her heart longed for the ones she had left behind, but yet pulled her into the wild unknown.

Her son, Arun, had begged her to at least visit again. There were little ones who would want to see her. Well not little ones, Arun was proof of that. So much time had past, how could anyone want to see her now? Would they even know who she was? Not that she was a plain Star, but time had a way of muddling ones memories.

Wishing she had followed her son when she had seen him last, he at least would be a solid rock for her. How could she face them? Would they hate her? Or would they somehow understand? Putting her head down to the wind, she moved towards the land of her sons and daughters.

This wasn't her first night of searching, her new romance and the foals had distracted her for a time but now she continued her search. It was sparked by her brother, Pyre, on one of his visits back to the herd they all grew in. He'd informed her there was word of their mother returning and joining the herd and her heart had lifted at the notion. Now after such a span a time and no sight of her mother she was starting to doubt it. Perhaps he'd heard wrong? Would she venture outside the herd lands plan a trip to try and find her. That would take a lot or preparation especially with the foals so young... she'd have to wait but even then... if she hadn't returned...

...did her mother want to be found?

Letting a deep sigh out from her nose Peren stopped, she could feel the tear forming in her eyes. She loved both parents so very much and her father was aware of her life, they even saw each other regularly, was it so much to wish to share such things with a mother? Was she being selfish? The thoughts grew darker as she stood, her large purple form standing out against the darkened morning. Peren hadn't slept yet, but it was getting closer to when she usually would... the thought of giving up tonight felt like she'd give up forever. As much as it pained her heart she didn't know what else to do or think, so for this moment... this moment she left the tear trail down her cheek and fall to the ground as she spoke out loud.

"Mother... I miss you so much... I just wish... I wish you were here... I wish I could find you! I wish I could share the love I have found.. the beautiful foals... your grandchildren. Oh mother..." She breathed deep but couldn't help just crying in the moment as she spoke the words that she so wanted to have her mother hear. "One shares your looks... he has your wings... your eyes... why can I not find you?" Then her tone increased "Where are you!" As she looks up from the wet patch upon the grass that held her tears of desperation.

As to made her way closer to the familiar lands, Shula could hear the distant sorrowful sounding cries. She had never been the best with comforting those around her, cheerful as she may be that does not always translate into comfort to those whose hearts are hurting. Normally she would avoid the interaction, but something drew her closer.

This poor child must be truely hurting and in her mindset she couldn't just pass on by. Never thinking herself motherly, there was something in that voice that pulled at her heart and maybe even distant memories. Peering through the overgrowth, her eyes fell on a majestic purple Elder with tear-filled eyes, it could not be her, not out here so unprepared. What could she say? What could she do?

Stepping meekly into the clearing, terror bit at the back of her throat, she softly uttered, "I'm right here."

The moment stopped, along with her heart. Gentle words spoken so softly she almost mistook them for the breeze but there was no mistaking that voice, she remembered it perfectly. Eyes of a foal looking up at her mother, god in a child's eyes the thing to aspire to and to set as your role model. Perens head slowly turn to meet that of Shula's, for the first time she looked down into the glowing eyes of her mother and thought of her son again. Koray really had inherited so much from his grandmother and it only made her heart hurt the more in her absence from their life's.

Remembering had slowed down the moment but now it was her turn to re act to the situation she had longed for for so long a thousand scenario's raced through her mind. Should she hesitate? If her mother had been absent so long would she appreciate the embrace of her foal all grown up? Time was ticking and Peren decided to do as she had the rest of her life, to act how she felt, driven with the passion of the reunion with her own blood and the mare who gave her life.

Bridging the gap between them Peren ran into Shula's space and nuzzled her, wrapping her larger wings around her mothers form and sucked back the sobs. "Mother...." Yet the tears still ran, silently as she could only wait for her mothers reaction, had she even heard her shouting? Had Peren's desperation at their situation been the cause of it finally coming together?

Unsure of herself, Shula let a sigh of relief wash over her as her daughter rushed towards her. So much time had passed since she had seen her daughter, how could she embrace her so warmly? But the tears in her daughter eyes wounded her more than she ever dreamed anything could. Never staying in one place, she thought no one could catch her heart. There is was a tug.
"I'm so sorry it took me so long...I just...I don't know what to say."
