Chomp Chomp

Sun high in the sky barely a cloud in sight the stallion stared off into space as he worked the blades of grass within his mouth. It was hot and he was uncomfortable and attempting to live his life just as uneventfully as he always had. Sounded an easy task but the itchy pelt on his back made simple tasks like say enjoying his food or cooling off in the nearest water source more complex and taxing. Despite being told and having hard evidence to the fact he was inflicted with the werewolf curse Zarafa continued to deny such things even existed. His world was a simple one, eat, sleep and reproduce, well at least attempt it unfortunately for the young stallion he hadn't had all that much luck in flinging with females. Was it so much to expect a few females to fall at his compliments and flirting, perhaps even carry his off spring to continue his line. Well to carry them elsewhere... he actually had no intentions to be part of anything he created lifes just to have fun and do what he was genetically encoded to do.

After spinning the chewed grass around his mouth a few more times he spat it out to his side. It was his only food source and yet it wasn't satisfying his hunger and worse of all it was tasting worse and worse by the day. The low grumble in his stomach had become a constant but what else would he eat? Even the idea of the colourful berries screamed poison and danger to him and the wolf stuff? It never even crossed his mind that his hunger and yearning was that of a carnivore now.

What he did know was that sometimes he slept... and could remember no dreams of females or his old herd. Instead it was replaced by a darkness, a void of black and when he awoke he felt restless and sometimes pondered if where he had awoken was where he had even dropped to sleep. Despite it all he continued on, clinging to the routines he knew and eyed up another patch of grass. It didn't even stick out to him any more, like the lush green glow that seemed to appear around a nice fresh gathering of grass before the heavy and hindering pelt had appeared.

For Nilima, things were good. Better, even. The strange sickness that had plagued her tiny herd for some time had finally gone. She and the other healers were still unsure of how or if the disease still lingered inside the previously infected, but the fact it was gone was celebration enough. As was ordered by the Head Doctor, all the bodies had been burned, far away from their settlement so no one else was harmed. It was deemed far too dangerous to examine the bodies as they were to study the disease more. The way it could spread was far too easy to risk the possibility of the living catching it from the dead. Far as the healers knew, it clung to the body. Like some kind of powder, invisible to the naked eye.

At least that was a theory going around.

The mare walked steadily through the forest, away from the herd. She needed a little break from the atmosphere. While it was very welcoming and more cheerful than she could ever remember it being, she was still worried about the sickness. Everyone celebrating was beginning to annoy her. Was no one else worried? How could they all be so joyful when the sickness wasn't gone, only for a time? She would need to speak to the Head Doctor about this. Maybe suggest some precautions that had been going through her mind the past few days. Like a border watch. Whatever was causing their problems was on the other side of the herd, closer to the peak of the mountain. No one else must be allowed to go that way. Nor to return from that way. A large fence would suffice.

Her thoughts were broken up by the sight of a stallion in front of her. She arched an eyebrow at his strange clothing, the strange expression on his face as he chewed at the grass. Like he found it disgusting. How strange that was. A Star who didn't seem to like grass? Perhaps he was sick.

With that thought, Nilima approached him with a kind smile on her face. "Hello, stranger. Have you come to these parts for medicine?"
