Kioda stalked silently through the trees. Making sure to mark every possible sound that could give her attention away. Something unnatural was moving in the distance. Anything this close to her families nest was fair game for the young Ysali Drakein to attack. She wasted no time in calling dibs on the attack. Or at least first crack at it as it turned out.
This Dragon was larger than any of the other ones she had fought thus far. Her wings fell helplessly to the ground as she stared at the great beast. Arching her back defensively, turning her body to the side. Kioda's head dropped low with a deep snarl. Her tail flicked from side to side. "Leave now." It was her first warning to her opponent.

Grrel was out sauntering about the forest enjoying the new growth upon the trees and ground as spring covered the world in life again.
She was approaching the area that she thought she'd first met Kioda in. She first heard the sounds of a Ysali Dragon and then saw the young Ysali Drakein facing off against it. She sat down on her haunches and smiled. Kioda had grown so much as fast! Her parents must be proud of her, she mused as she decided to wait to see how Kioda fared in her battle against the Dragon. Though it was rather large and she somehow knew that she'd be jumping in soon. Mostly because she didn't want Kioda to get hurt too badly... though from the scars that Grrel could see, the little scamp had been in more than enough trouble already!

The dragon merely chuckled goading Kioda forward. Digging her claws into the earth with a final bursting Roar, the young Ysali Drakein burst forward with a keen screech. She wanted the Ysali dragons in the area to leave. They caused damage and threatened homes, and nests. The result of their collision had not been what Kioda had expected. Instead of her attack landing the dragon had merely flicked it's tail sending Kioda skidding backwards. Her feet in the air and a trail of torn ground behind her.
Blinking as she looked up Kioda noticed Grrel not far off. "Oh! Grrel, have you come to help. These pesky Ysali don't know their place!" Kioda snarled the end of her sentence at the dragon. Twisting onto her feet Kioda rose again. ready for another attack on the dragon.

Grrel smirked as she watched the young Drakein being tripped by the dragon. At least she'd never done that.. though she'd had her fair share of getting trounced by Ysali.
When Kioda called out to her, Grrel sighed; yet another battle against a Ysali on an empty stomach, perhaps she would win this time.. though looking at the size of it Grrel didn't think her chances were good. But she couldn't leave Kioda to fight on alone, so she launched a lightning bolt and leaped down to Kioda's side.
"They don't have to worry about knowing their place until after we beat them... which will be difficult. I haven't had much luck against them lately." Grrel sighed again and looked back at the peeved Ysali who bore a scorch mark across his face from her bolt.
"Well, now I've made it mad... oh joy. Why do I always face them with my stomach empty?" She muttered as she flared her wings and lightning sparked across her scales as she prepared herself.

Momentarily startled by Grrel closing the distance between them, Kioda hissed at the dragon. Her wings pulled slightly up against her body. Perhaps with Grrel there, it was likely they would succeed. Courage welled up in the younger Drakein as she stared on at the deep scorch mark.
"Nice aim." Kioda chuckled her tial flicking from one side to the next. "I'll leap first you can always follow up with an attack while I distract it right?"
Spreading her wings wide Kioda pushed herself into the air. Her claws wide as she stretched forward for the attack. Her teeth ready for a decisive blow. The dragon had seen her amateur attack before Kioda could land one and swiftly dodged out of the way. It's eyes focused on the Ysali Drakein. Skidding to a halt, Kioda's claws dug into the ground as she snarled at the beast she was confronting.

Grrel muttered too herself about Ysali Dragon's and how irritating they could be as she flew up into the air and loosed another bolt, this time at it's back so that she wouldn't hit Kioda.
"Don't stop in front of a Ysali, Kioda! They'll summon vines to ensnare you, so always keep on the move or in the air if you can!" She called down to the younger Drakein. She'd learned that the hard way. Hopefully Koida had learned how to control plants herself.. would be handy if she could just ensnare the Dragon and then they could go in for an easy kill. Grrel snorted to herself and thought 'Considering my luck recently, the Dragon would just be able to overpower any spell she casts.'

Kioda allowed Grrels words to flicker through her mind. She had considered the vines before but it would only end in a draw if the dragon had performed that move. She herself would counter the same way and start attacking the vines at her feet with her teeth. She predicted she could chew her way through before the dragon could be freed. Taking flight she could easily escape.
That led to the next thought soaring through Kioda's mind. If they were having this much trouble killing this dragon it wasn't likely to fall before she grew tired. She wasn't sure about Grrel but she didn't want to chance it. "I need my feet on the ground to cast the vines. I cannot beat this creature and it will allow us a chance for escape if you don't think we can make it fall right away." Snarling Kioda focused her power into the ground into the roots and vines below her feet. Her slitted eyes watching as the vines slithered out of the ground moving to capture the dragon they fought against.

Grrel heard Kioda's reason for being on the ground.. was that why they did that? It made sense.. next time she went hunting a Ysali, she would try to catch no in the air...
Static sparks jumped over her scales as she began to gather her power to her, her wings flapping and keeping her in the air out of reach of any pesky vines.
"I'll try my strongest spell, if this doesn't work, then we should run Kioda." She growled as her eyes glowed and lightning gathered about her, frying the air and crackling menacingly.
