Finally, a break from the cold weather that seemed to have predominantly taken Palisade by storm. Finally a break to go outside and actually get some air, and perhaps continue keeping up his image. Though perhaps today he could just take a break, get some flowers for the table or something. Support the local economy, be a good citizen...Or just do both at the same time.

Or perhaps leave to give his good friend a visit. That was the best idea he'd had in a while. So the man packed a case for about a week's time, and went on his way by carriage. In a few days time, he finally stepped out in Oldcastle, though was unsure of how exactly to get to his residence....Though he had always been taught to bring gifts for friends! And he had no gift! Spying a small flowership nearby, he decided flowers would make a fabulous gift! And in this cold weather, they'd give a nice pop of color to any day!

He made his way over, looking carefully over the stock. Hmmm...Now what would Kian like?

Though it was indeed winter, and hardly any vegetation asides from deciduous plants lived with ease, flower shops like the one Maerill lived in were still able to flourish and make a name for themselves... well, at least this one was. This was thanks to one of the owners being a hedgewitch. As such, the flowers were able to stay in impeccable condition, paired with the greenhouse that was attached just behind the little store.

Inside, there was only one little employee at the moment. Due to the cold, and their age, the owners were unable to come all too often, and left their precious shop in the young girls care. She was trustworthy, and someone they could depend on, due to years of knowing one another. And to be honest, Maerill had no qualms about it. She loved her job, her work... it was to be sure the perfect career for her. Since she could remember she had always loved plants, and flowers especially. Such beautiful things, that were silent, and didn't cause any sort of ruckus. They were calming, and comforting, and the quiet girl found herself enamored with their complete charm that made her desire to care for them as a mother would her own child.

Lately, the place had been in a sort of lull with the weather. Not many people wanted to venture out to places that didn't hold necessity's... but that didn't bother Maerill any. The reserved girl tended to a few lotus' that bobbed in a makeshift pond that was tucked away in the back of the store, untangling vines, or giving a few a snip to relocate into a smaller water container. Here... she didn't feel as shy... with the company of the sweet flora.

However... she snapped out of her serenity when she heard the front door open. A customer? Quickly, she stood, and straightened herself out, apron earning a smoothing, hair as well, and her spectacles adjusted on her face. Taking a deep breath, she timidly walked towards the front of the building, offering a meek smile to the man who had graced the store, as well as giving a polite bow, "Good day, sir.. may I be of assistance?" she asked, her voice soft, gentle, easily matching her demeanor.

Dino at first paid no mind to the young woman, too preoccupied looking over the colorful flora with a close eye. Perfect. Every single flower had no imperfection that he could find. Was this some kind of amazing miracle? Or was it magic? He had heard many times of these so called 'Headwitches' (or was it 'hedgewitches'? He couldn't remember) that could preform small miracles, that perhaps seemed happenstance to most people. A fever that was cured before its time, easy delivery in childbirth, a lot of things like that. But did perfect flowers fall under that? But it was the middle of winter, and these were flowers.

He did, however, when spoken to, turn with a rather dashing smile on his face. Appearances needed to be kept up, after all! And certainly he wasn't going to let such a lovely young girl get by without him attempting to woo her. "Ah yes....I'm looking for some flowers for a friend...But it seems I've found the most beautiful of all." He cooed, giving the most charming smolder he could manage. Yes this would woo the young lady for sure. Even if it hadn't worked the last 50 times.

She was a patient woman, whether from upbringing or nature it could probably be a little of both. But she had no problem standing there and waiting while the man perused the various flora that were on display. Perhaps he was here for his wife, or maybe even an event! He was dressed like an upper class citizen... they didn't get many of those here. Adjusting her glasses idly, her gaze lifted to his as he finally seemed prepared to make a request. However... his words didn't give the desired effect he was fishing for.

Flowers for a friend? How sweet~ attempting a small smile, she took a glance to the flowers that were around him, trying to pinpoint the one that had caught his eye so immensely. Looks like he didn't need help at all in finding something! "Very good, sire. Which one is it that has taken your interest?" she asked quietly, his flirtatious comment clearly falling short on the mousy young woman. After all, never having any sort of attention of that matter directed at her, how could she think any differently? though his smile was enough to make her have to avert her eyes to keep from getting ensnared by it.

Dino definitely didn't mind the fact that it didn't work. There would be other such opportunities, like the one she just walked into. Welll....Maybe just this once he'd let it slide. Fine, one more time, and if it didn't work, it wasn't going to work. Carefully, noticing her averting her eyes shyly, he continued the smolder, and bowed, cape gracefully hanging partially over his shoulder.

"M'lady, shall I compare thee to a rose on a summer's day?" Oh he knew he was quoting a rather spectacular written work, but it was one that was so spectacular for this very moment. He couldn't possibly pass it up. "For you are the very flower that has stolen my heart." He glanced up at her, still continuing to keep his pose and expression. And usually by now there would be angry husbands. But hearing none, he wasn't too terribly worried.

His dramatic display of gallantry, and politeness made the meek girl blink in surprise, and even take a small step back in her shock. What... was he doing? Looking around, almost as if expecting someone of higher ranking to somehow be in here, without her knowing it, Maerill's little brows drew together with increasing confusion! Surely he wasn't aiming this at her!

But as he went on with his little piece, slowly, but surely, the timid creature that was the flower girl, began to warm fiercely along her face... which eventually reached her ears. What... was he saying... the literature was easily picked up on, due to being quite a bookworm herself, but... surely this... was... not towards her! Her small hands clasped to her mouth in embarrassment, as she gasped very quietly from disbelief, the warmth hot along her cheeks, prickling even! especially when their eyes met again... heart having quickened a little, she quickly tried to tear her eyes away, even clamped them closed to get a better grip on herself. He.. didn't even know her! he must have confused her for someone else.. yes! that had to be it! lowering her hands, she clutched them together against her chest, as she barely was able to stammer out a response to him... though her head kept turned, and eyes shut, "Ss-s-...s-...sir... I..... I-I believ...believe you.... you have me.. m-m-mmistaken.. fo..for someon-one else..."

Dino is most pleased with her reaction, the flushing of her cheeks adding a certain beauty. He doesn't mind that she's timid, though her reactions prove to him that she's never had this sort of experience. Ahh, the joys of youth...

"Mistaken?" He laughs lightly, straightening back up. "I would weep if I had! I don't think I've ever seen a beauty such as yours, so delicate, like the petals of a rose, glistening in the morning dew." He knew he was laying it on thick, though the reaction was certainly beautiful. "One of a kind...Do not think you are just another wildflower in a valley." He sighed. He was in a flower shop, what sort of romance did one really expect him to do?
