Kioda moved through the tree's at a brusque pace. Dodging lowered branches and raised limbs as she moved. It was her first day out hunting with the family, and she was determined to prove she was a great hunter. At least better than her sister was at any rate. Both Kioda and Jadie were competitive siblings now that they were both reaching maturity.
Today's meal had been desired by their mother. Silx. Kioda loved the taste of Silx meat, and had plenty of opportunity to mesmerize how the creatures looked. Up until a few moments ago Kioda hadn't known what they moved like either. Now that she had lost her previous one, Kioda was deep in search of another.
A loud roar shook through the trees pulling the young Ysali Drakein to a stop. Pulling her wings in against her body Kioda searched the area, the sound had been familiar from her Keinling days. Her first few keinling days, her head moved from right to left in a searching pattern. Cautiously stepping around broken, dried twigs. She didn't want to be caught out in the open with a dragon on the loose. Not when she was so unfamiliar with how to attack them. It was likely that if she did run into one, a fight would break out and if Kioda managed to survive the encounter it would be just barely by the scale on her neck.
Her nostrils flared nervously as she approached the sound. Sure enough it was a Ysali dragon. Their eye's locked momentarily before Kioda surged back into the trees. Her magic whizzing about to hold the dragon in place while she fled. If that was the same dragon that had been around when she was a Keinling, she would have to get stronger and challenge it again and again until she could destroy it. That would make the area safe for her family! No orderites would come out this far to hunt a dragon that wasn't here. Right?
