[PRP] Swimming with King Foxfire (Amphi/Jove)

Amphi bit and gnawed at her lip nervously. It had been awhile since she had ventured the area's near the cafeteria and father away, the auditorium. Partly because the last time either location had been wandered by the mermaid, Amphi had been attacked by some sort of jello monster.

And then saved by Tybalt and Jove. The first dog, she knew well enough. In fact Tybalt was one of the few males she never felt all that awkward around. Nevermind his grumpiness, he tended to be nice and very thoughtful of others.

Jove on the other hand was practically a stranger and she felt a bit sad at that. In a romantic sense, She saw him like a hero. Coming to her rescue all the time in dire times of need. Once in the library where he had protected her from the monstrous bugs and the second in the hallways when JOY had invaded their home.

It wasn't odd that the mermaid had stopped mid walk, causing students around her to grumble and dodge her, because it meant that she was very much deep in thought. Very much in thought...so much in thought about the foxfire boy well, Maybe she would just make him appear in front of her.

BEST TO CLOSE HER EYES AND SEE IF IT WORKED!!!

Jove was not the sort of pup who would come when called. He was the sort of wild, unruly thing that never sat when told, or lay down, or begged. He was the sort who liked to go out on long walks in the woods like any untamed creature would do. Yet... even if that was how he fancied himself on occasion, the pup really was just a slave to certain things. Like his school work.

The little pup had been spending too much time on those walks, and not enough time with his studies. Graduation would be coming sooner than he was prepared for at this rate! And he was determined to graduate with his brother. That way Ren wouldn't have to worry about leaving him alone or anything. Or worry about leaving his brother alone. Who knew what trouble that gryphon would get into...

Jove was unprepared for a student standing right in his path with her eyes closed. Being small had some advantages, like good luck slipping through crowds of students when there was some sort of commotion slowing down passage through the halls. He swerved around the taller students...

And ran face-first into a ghoul's cleavage.

Amphi was in the matter, wishing REALLY HARD and making herself get a head ache with just how tight her face was drawn in said wishes.

It was broken, and her mind gave a beautiful thank you, when she stumbled back. Arms instinctvly came out to circle around whatever was in front of her, and made her chest some sort of cushion for their hit.

AKA, she was smothering something in her boobs and she didn't even know what it was.

"Uhm?" She cracked her eyes open slowly to look oly a bit more down at..."Jove?????" WAS THAT CUTE EARS AND FRECKLED FACE AND ADORABLENESS JOVE? Oh my gosh, he really was like a hero! Coming to save the day even if the day didn't need to be saved and it was only a crazy ghoul wishing.

"Wow! You're really like a hero Jove!" She was still smothering him though.

Thankfully the little ghost didn't have to breathe, or he really would have been smothered. Jove tried to pull back, ears flattening uselessly. He didn't even know who it was who was holding him so tightly until he heard a familiar voice, one that took him a minute or two to pinpoint. It was the ghoul from the library! He knew her!

He stopped his struggling, in hopes she would let him go sometime soon... Then tips of his ears began to glow slightly as he realized what it was he was being smooshed against. This wasn't good! Hero or not, he was about to die of embarrassment right there in the hallway.

Amphi waited until she felt the stillness of the struggling student before dragging them off to the side hallways, where it was a lot more easier to breathe and to EXSIST without disrupting the flow of students.

When she looked down again, she automatically dropped her arms and looked around. "I'm really sorry Jove, I didn't mean to do that..." her face was turning her own shade of red as she realized that she had practically smothered.

"Are you okay?" She asked shyly...Hero or not, when both of them were blushing, it tended to be embarassing.

Jove nodded firmly, trying to ignore his own blush, but he couldn't quite meet the ghoul's eyes. Perhaps it was for the best, at his height he could keep avoiding her eyes and also avoid noticing her own blush for the time being.

He glanced at his feet, over at the other students in the hall, ears swiveling awkwardly for a time before he was actually able to look up at her face. What had she said a minute ago, he was like a hero? Did she need his help for something? Did she need him to catch some bugs, or beat up some shadows?

The little pup tilted his head in question, the blush fading as his mind dwelled on other things. Like how this might be an opportunity to be a real gentleman, or a hero, as Amphi put it.

Whew! Now that Jove was starting to relax, the mermaid could as well. Long silence drew out until both of their blushes faded before she ahem'd a little and then looked around.

She was no good at reading minds but well, Jove was looking at her so expectantly.

"Um Jove...have you...Have you ever gone swimming in the lake by the monster dorms?" She looked around and gestured him close, "I went last time with Tybalt and we ran into a this huge monster so I haven't been able to go swimming there again..." She bit her lip...

"I don't want to go by myself so maybe...um...if you want...would you like to go swimming with me?" One person was never fun but if there was two well, Amphi loved to swim with other people! plus if they swam deep, they might encounter the monster fish and they could fight it together.

Because Jove was a hero. And she would be his sidekick!

Had the pup been older, or a little less innocent, he might have wondered why he was suddenly being invited for a swim by a ghoul he had only met a couple times. But Jove was inclined to take things at face value when the subject didn't include possible 'short' insults.

Little ears perked as he shook his head, he had been swimming in the swamp, and the pool, and unfortunately in one river, but not in the big lake! And he liked swimming. It was something Ren never did with him, so there was no way he could pass up an opportunity to go swim with someone else, even if there was a huge monster in there. Maybe it was only Sura, she was a pretty huge monster.

The head-shake was followed quickly by an enthusiastic nod. His tail wagged, did she mean for them to go swimming right now? His classes were over for the day, so a swim would be nice before dinner!

Amphi was thrilled when the pup's eyes widened and he accepted her proposal to hang out.

Even if it was to conquer the deep darky depths of the Lake Amityville. No words were exchanged as she hesitated and then held her hand out for Jove. "Okay let's go!" And tugged him along.

With classes coming to a end, there was plenty of students milling around...but the farther they got from the school, the less students they saw. When they rounded to the corner of the monster dorms, she smiled at the cool sight of the lake.

"We're here!" The mermaid exclaimed, releasing the poor victim of her rushing to get to the lake. She didn't even hesitate as she started to strip clothes down. From dress, shirt until all that was left was her usual blue and purple bikini. "Do you need to change...into anything???" Amphi hadn't even thought of Jove needing a swimsuit or anything. "Oh jack, I should've let you go to your dorms first....."

Thankfully Amphi's little hero was sure of foot, and arrived safe and free from harm. The same could not be said when the ghoul began to undress. Aside from being a little boil and thus naturally awkward around nearly-naked ghouls, Jove was a foxfire, and one of the most embarrassing things he could think of would be being stripped of fluff. Clothes had been his surrogate fluff since he could take on a humanoid form, but the ability to remove it in public did not come easily. And seeing others strip down was a good way to make him blush and look away.

That was the first thing he did when he realized Amphi was indeed going to take off nearly all of her clothing. But... As Yaya had told him once before, you couldn't go swimming properly with a shirt on.

Jove had never been good at doing what he was told. So he just shook his head as he untied his boots and folded up his coat to set on the grass, and then waded into the water still wearing his shirt and trousers. That was the best way. Maybe Amphi wouldn't even notice his bruises, although his white shirts did have a terrible tendency to go translucent whenever he got them wet.... No, probably no hope of getting away without at least a question.

Oh well, swimming would be fun. Lakes were much bigger than his bath tub!

Amphi waited for the pup to strip as far as he was comfortable too. She knew Roch never took off his shorts, nor had a lot of other people she had swam with. And since she wore bikinis as normal attire, when the mermaid was down undressing, she was left with a cute pink bathing suit.

She smiled as the pup waddled into the water before joining him. Her body shimmered a little before fading. Instead of bikini and humanoid skin, her mermaid form took over as she dove under. Underneath the water, light gleamed off her blue and purple scales.

She surfaced again and beckoned the Pup to come closer into the water.

"How far do you want to swim under Jove?" They had to be careful, the farther they went down, the more likely they would encounter...

Jove waded in as deep as his knees without looking up, and when he finally chanced a glance he wasn't sure if what he saw was better or worse than the bikini. It was like... Technically canines didn't wear clothing in their natural form, but they had fur... so Jove had to believe the scales served the same function, and that the mermaid was actually more decent than she had been a couple moments before.

He waded in a bit less timidly, until he had to paddle over to where Amphi was waving. It must be nice having such a fishy tail, his own got wet quickly, and soaked fur had a habit of pulling him down. His fluffy ears still perked up though, he could dive down as far as she wanted.

Amphi started to swim closer, swimming around him in a lazy circle and nodded. It wasn't as if she knew Jove was saying anything (cause he wasn't) but she got the general idea that since he was a ghost like Tybalt, He could probably swim pretty far down.

She only hesitated a second and then shyly took his hand to tug him under. For now, the sunlight proved to be a good light source, but the deeper they went, she would have to focus on her FEAR to glow a little.

With a gentle push of her tail, she pulled the pup a little more deeper before letting go of his hand and looking around.

"Ah it's always so nice to swim!" She did a back flip and small circles. It had been awhile since she last swam immersing. She watched Jove carefully, assessing his comfort level in the water. "And look..." A small school of fishes pased by them, as if they were nothing in their domain.

Jove was thankful for the slight tug downward, and he let out all the air in his ghostly lungs to help with the sinking. After that it wasn't too hard, what with his wet fur and all. Except when he was fully submerged it became hard to do things like wag his tail...

The pup's eyes went wide as fish swam by, and he reached out to touch them, causing the entire school to scatter in an explosion of shimmering bodies. He jerked back, surprised, and then watched them coalesce back into a school a safe distance away. He had never seen live fish so close before.

Jove turned back to Amphi, the surprise and childish awe evident on his face.

Amphi was absolutely thrilled to see the fish life swim around and with them. The school of fish was only the beginning as seahorses circled around them curiously...some even close to Jove's cheek and pecking it curiously.

The mermaid on the other hand was whispering intently around her to see how much wildlife she could draw to them. Colorful fish, ugly, pretty, dull, fat, small, schools or single ones came to visit her.

"If you get uncomfortable with all of the fish let me know! I can ask them not to crowd you..." Even though most of the fish were swimming around Jove curiously, they were questioning why a landwalker was in their domain. Amphi was intent on keeping peace between the creatures and whispered encouragements to them.

To jove it would sound like a whole'nother language because well...it was! she didn't often show it but she loved talking to the creatures. As of right now, she was having a in depth discussion with a pair of clown fish about the larger fishes deeper down.

Once done, the small fish swam away leaving the two eeriely alone.

"they said the farther we go, the less they know about. They said their is good big fish down there, and big fish so we'll be careful and I won't try to call any attention to us." She held her hand out to Jove and smiled at him. Though she was a complete wreck of nerves and she hoped she wouldn't put them in danger.
