sooo, the owner of this place said we can make our own forums, aight.
okay, so i know i should be posting this in a cosplay thread, buuut does anyone know where i can get clothes for a cosplay? : D
right now i'm working on finding some shades for my little sister's dave cosplay, along with wigs. lol. wigs. nerds. omg.
and my best friend and i are looking for some sexy shoes. :B
omg. u guiz.
this was stupid. wat is wrong with me.
OKAY. I AM LOOKING FOR SHOES AND A JACKET/SHIRT THING FOR MY JOHN COSPLAY. (the outfit vriska gat hem) wink )))
AND I AM LUKIN 4 SUM SHOES 4 MY FRIENDS TEREZI COSPLAY.
Liek, what brand?????????????????
seriously, give me some store names. : D or online things, like ebay listings for clothes that look goo-ood.

i know, but i'm horrible at picking things out and it's waaay easier for me to be told. >:I
i mean, i was just wondering if anyone else here has cosplayed those characters and had some items that are good.

I had a friend who did godtier John, and she just found some white flats and painted them yellow and blue. I'm assuming you could do something similar for this John? Or just go for some sort of converse like shoe and paint the bottoms. 3nodding
As for Terezi, another friend of mine used red converse at first, then went over to the red flats. I think she found them at target.
But for anything really, just look around your local Target or go to some thrift stores! You can pretty much find anything you need around there. A green jacket shouldn't be too hard to find. 3nodding

I'd say go with Melody's advice. If you can't find anything you think will work online, then it would depend on what stores and such are around you and what they have.
Like, in my case, there's a fantastic local store near my school that sells wigs, Ben Nye...different helpful things like that. (God, I love that place!)

One thing I do for my cosplays is to go scouting at thrift stores. You can usually get base materials for any cosplay pretty cheap, then it just needs some cut-and-sew and minor touches here and there.
If you can't sew though, I suggest investing in fabric tape. WalMart has a brand called Peel n Stick and it basically fuses the fabrics together and then if you iron it, it stays pretty permanent.

Now for Dave's shades and John's and Dave's wigs you can go on Amazon.com and just search up Homestuck, it will pop up with shades for Dave, blonde and black wigs for John and Dave, troll makeup, terezi's glasses and walking stick so that should work for those.
shoes, you can go to the converse site and make custom ones there that are red and in many styles but you'll probably have to paint on John's and for Terezi, you can use converse if you REALLY want but I've seen so much fan art with her wearing converse or crocs (those rubber, slightly tacky shoes with the holes on the top that you can just slip on) that you can use either. The crocs seem to fit terezi more but it's all what you want to do.
now for the green over shirt, you can probably find it at any old target, walmart, or any other clothing store in the guys section. Maybe even a suits store since it is like a button up over shirt, so you may find it in there too.
