 The sun was high in the sky, yet for some reason the darkened sky of the night remained visible. The birds were still chirping, the breeze was blowing. It was even bright in the area.
Something was different about it all though. It presented all the normal signs of the day, yet it appeared to be night? Any pae that didn't know she was in the area wouldn't have been able to guess it straight off.
It was here, on the beaches that Starry sat, looking out to the water. The deep blue pae sighed a bit, having given up on a mourning period. Her lost mate was a great stress in her life, but with everything that had happened to the isle in the last couple of years, the isle was more important.
But why couldn't she get her mind off the trees? The demon shook her head, red hair flailing about in the process. She uttered a quiet laugh, starting to get up. The sky was starting to brighten as she stood. It was taking a lot of concentration to keep so much of the sky so dark for so very long.

 The night colored stallion strode along the beach, having excused himself ro a period of contemplation on the past few days and hours. So much had gone on that he could not explain. For one thing..... he was no longer a she and how long that would last....the alicorn had no clue. His flank still stung a little where the arrows managed to pierce and scratch the skin, leaving shallow but not quite painless cuts. However.... he could have sworn when he left that it was indeed day time. He couldn't have been walking that long... could he? Luna glanced up at the sky, thinking it odd that night was so different here. If this even was night.... The nights before didn't look anything like this. Maybe it was more magic and tricks from the strange ball. All these thoughts filled Luna's head and he she failed to realize she was about to stroll right into another pae who was previously sitting on the beach. Turning his head back just in time, Luna took a jerked step back. "Pardon me. I was not looking as to where I was going." her usual female voice was now deep to match that of her stallion body. he couldn't help but realize that as this pae moved, the sky began to lighten ever so slightly.

Starry blinked, looking up at the night colored stallion. He had hooves? It took her a moment to realize this was a faun. She had seen them before. Once or twice. The demon smiled, looking up at the stallion. He had gorgeous flowing hair.
"That's alright, I was just getting up." Starry smiled, letting the rest of her illusions fade. It was a great relief on her body, and it showed. She seemed to lighten up greatly when the stars faded from the sky.
"I'm sorry if the sky was displeasing. It was more interesting to watch the stars move than to watch the waves lap at the shore." She grinned, enjoying her joke. The lake was pretty, but the dark blue demon had preferred making her stars move. That was a good distraction.
Almost as good of a distraction as this male that had appeared. He was utterly handsome. And he reminded her of the night. She felt like a young girl again, just looking at the stallion before her.
"My name is Starry." She blushed, a smile on her face. "May I learn what your name is?"

Luna looked at the look upon the pae's face, seeing the stress and strain from obviously creating the illusion of night. So he hadn't been crazy then. "I knew the night sky seemed out of place. I had not been walking that long." he said before really studying the pae.
"So it was you causing the sky to appear as night. Do not apologize. I used to rule the night in my land. It is a welcome sight to my eyes." Luna spoke, still in his slightly stern voice. He watched Starry's face, unsure as to what her current expressions were to mean. He was only a he in body form for now, though to actually explain that seemed to escape the former Princess's mind at the current moment. The illusion of night was something they seemed to share in common and he she was interested in possibly learning how to control his somewhat new, somewhat dulled powers that stayed with him from his home land. "Starry. That is a fitting name." A very pony like name. Luna approved of this over the course of strange names and faces met so far. "I am called Luna. Pleasure to meet you. I believe... I may have questions for you?" he asked and tilted his head in a hopeful manner.

Starry smiled, looking up at him. He had ruled the night? It seemed a stretch, but there is always a story to everything. She shrugged it off. "Would you prefer to see it again?" The demon offered, waving her hands towards the woods. "It's easier in there, less sky to cover." Starry admitted. It was a great stress on her body. Sometimes, she had to wonder how she had even managed to create stars in the past.
Starry blushed as her named was complimented. "Thank you." The female blinked a bit. Luna? Wasn't that a girl's name? "Oh! Of course you can ask questions. I'll happily answer anything I know the answer to." She beamed, practically bouncing when he asked.

Luna glanced over at the trees that made up the woods before back at Starry. "You look tired. Does this cause strain on your body?" he tilted his head and then paused to place a hand to his forehead. Whatever other strange effects the arrows had caused felt as if they were wearing off but not quick enough. How long would this male body last.
"Forgive me. I wanted to ask. I can not raise the moon here as I did in my homeland with my sister. Here, I seem to only create the illusion of night at best." he said as he flicked his wings and looked Starry over. She was doing it again. Blushing. He rubbed the back of his head and flicked his tail a bit. "I wish to know how it works for you?"

"It's been a strain to cover the entire lake for a while now. I think it's related to your emotions." She smiled. Thinking on it, she had been under duress lately. When she was with Daemon she had no problems turning the daytime into the night. She'd even managed to get a couple of stars. Since he'd been gone, she hadn't been able to cover near the area she had before.
Another pae with her power? Starry was floored. Her jaw fell slack in amazement. In all her time on the isle, and she had been here a great amount of time, she had NEVER run across a pae with anything even similar to what she could do. And Luna just strolls up and has the exact same power? Her green eyes were wide with sheer amazement.
"Y-you can crea-create the same illusions?" She whispered, glad to have trees near enough to catch her if she fell from shock.

She was that shocked that they had similar powers? "Is it really that rare that one has the power to create illusions of night? I would have thought there were many. At least of different varieties" he said rather bluntly, clearly showing that they were still quite a stranger in these new lands.
Luna focused what magic he had left, concentrating on the tip of his horn, as a dark color glowed from the tip and an illusion of instantaneous darkness just like a real nighttime circled the the immediate area around Luna and Starry, extending about a half mile. It was more akin to real night, "This is the best I can do. Which is why I was curious when I saw you could do the same. I am still a stranger here." he said before nodding his head slightly, glancing around at the illusion. It seemed Starry's version wasn't exactly the same? At least, her's still held some aspects of day, where as this one felt like genuine night. Complete opposite of what her sister could do. At least that much hadn't changed. Unlike his body from that strange ball event. It wearing off could not come a moment sooner.

"Similar abilites are always something that might be out there, but to have the exact same power... it's just unheard of. Entirely." She looked Luna over once more. She wasn't bothered by it at all, though she was shocked. It was amazing to see another with this kind of power!
Her eyes went wide, looking around as Luna created what felt like true night around them. "This is amazing! You cover so much area with your illusions!" Starry gushed, more amazed than she was just a moment ago.
"This is so much more like the real night sky than what I can create! Its so very life like! How do you get it to look so much like the actual sky? How does it work? Why does your horn glow when you use magic?" She rambled on and on, as animated as a child on sugar.

Luna took a step back and quirked his brow at Starry. If she wasn't strange before, she certainly was now. First she was shocked and now she gushed out questions like a raging river. Wasn't Luna the one with questions a second ago? "I can not answer most of your questions. You know just as much as I do about my powers. I can only guess it is a weaker version of the powers I possessed back in Equestria." Luna said with a sigh.
Shaking his head, the tip of his horn glowed slightly for a moment before it and the illusion of night faded. The original brightness and colors of true day time flooded back into the woods around them. "As for my horn. It glows when i use magic as does every other Unicorn and Alicorn." he tilted his head, speaking this as if it was the most very basic of knowledge that anyone should know.

Starry blushed, realizing she had slipped up. He had questions for her, she shouldn't have been asking him a ton of questions. It was just so overwhelming to meet another pae like this man!
"I'm so sorry! I meant to stop and answer your questions, not ask a ton of mine." The demon kept blushing, in awe of the answers he had provided. "Unicorn? Alicorn?" Her head tilted to the side, hair falling into her face. "Magic has never been so visible to me. Maybe it's new around here?" Starry suggested, not too fond of the tone that Luna had used when telling her that.
"What other questions do you have? I'd like to try and answer at least a few of them." She had reigned in her burning curiosity. Starry almost sounded annoyed. Perhaps it was because she wasn't used to other pae again? It had been a great deal of time since she had seen another...

Luna tilted his head. Had he upset her somehow? He was just speaking as he did with anyone, not really realizing that it wasn't just an issue of him being new here. Others would see them as new beings in their own homeland and no doubt very strange. "I am sorry. It is hard to .... keep in mind my kind and their quirks are not yet well known. Alicorns and Unicorns are the primary magic users out of my people. It is represented by our horns. Pegasus have a ...." he paused, having to correct himself. It seemed what he was about to say had changed for the Pegasai as well. "The Pegasus ponies were able to sit on clouds back home via their own type of magic. They made and controlled our weather in Equestria. It seems here however, the most they can do is move around a cloud or two." he sighed as he had to stop to fight another strange wave of whatever that crazy blue pae shot into his body with those arrows. "I wanted to inquire, how long you are able to keep up your illusion before you are completely exhausted or how to train ones self to last longer." he said rubbing his temples.

"I honestly haven't met another pae with hooves yet. You're the first." She smiled, looking up at him. It was interesting hearing about his people. "I'm sorry to hear about the loss in your powers. It's very sad to have your abilities weaken." She frowned, knowing the feeling all too well.
Seeing and hearing his pause, Starry's eyes widened. Coupled with his question... She knew exactly what he needed.
"Before I answer your question, Luna, you need to rest. Something has affected you terribly, and you look exhausted." The worry was clear in her voice. She wasn't going to make him train or anything like that if he was exhausted. She wasn't sure what had happened to this Faun, but she knew it wasn't good.
"Come this way, I'll show you to a bed where you can rest for the night. We can train in the morning." The demon reached out to take the other's hand.

"No we have not travelled very far from the tree since we arrived." Luna said and nodded. He watched her apologize, feeling she had no need too, it wasn't as if it was her fault. He placed a hand on her shoulder at her frown. "Something upsets you." he said but she had offered another suggestion that at the moment sounded both strange and exactly what he needed.
A bed? He had to admit, after the strange past days, he was feeling rather exhausted. And trying to keep his mind off his predicament and now pregnant female.....date? .... practicing his illusion to take his mind off it had worn him out quite considerably. "I would thank you for that..... I am feeling quite tired." Would they miss him though? Or did anyone even know he was out here? Luna had left without telling anyone but Lady Mo...... since she had quite a bit of a hormonal fit just before about her situation.

Starry simply shook her head. She wasn't going to burden this male with her problems. With a wide smile, she reached for Luna's hand.
"This way. Your bed may be a little small, the last one to use it was my son before he moved out." Sadness crossed her face, missing her children. All three of them. Quickly shaking the feeling, Starry led the stallion tl her home in the trees.
