The herd had long since fallen, as Ramla had predicted the gods were still angry about some wrong from the past age, it had been sanded away from the history glyphic history. Ramla appeased the gods enough to remove the eclipse, it did not dull their fury enough. The herd was eventually destroyed by terrible signs and itself, Ramla and her brother however were saved from the fate of the herd. The Gods had deemed Ramla worthy enough to survive and she would take her brother with her, he was a faithful priest to the gods as she was their voice, to the starborn in the desert.
The Gods they had warned her of her herd's assured destruction, and with the desertion of the herds high priestess and priest the herd crumbled. she had to find the calling the gods asked of her now, why where they so silent as she traveled the familiar desert?
Ramla looked into the sky, Ra looked down on her as he did everyday, and every day she prayed to the gods, each one she offered prayers to.
She gave the sun a bow, before calling for her brother. "Minkah."
"I come High Priestess," he called using her title, they had been separated much when she was younger, Ramla they had discovered had a gift to commune with the gods, and was instantly chosen to be a high priestess, everyone else was below her even her own brother who had no such gift.
Though in private Ramla was kinder, that which he was thankful for. Minkah was her only family left, and he would support her the entire way, so much so he became one of the best priests in the temple he became Ramlas second of course she chose him, but he had to have the skills necessary.
"What do you need of me?" he asked

Ramla smiled at her brother he was always so formal even though it was just the two of them for the first time since they were just foals. Not often had she been allowed to think of him as her brother but he was just a priest, these days had been refreshing, like when they were children.
"Have you the artifacts safely tucked away?" she asked she too was thankful for her brothers company she wasn't sure she could have gotten through all the training without him. They had a strong bond between the two of them. Even when she died she would join Minkah in the same afterlife she was certain.
She glanced at the horizon, Ra's Light beat down on them, though they could not afford to walk by the mid day heat it was time to find shelter. For a while at least, until it became a little cooler. Ramla peaked into the bag with her hoof the gold glint of the object catching her eye, she had to make sure they were safe.
Minkah gave the priestess a nod, "I do they are safely tucked away High Priestess" he motioned to the bags he had slung across his back as Ramla inspected them. It was a shame about their previous herd, but he honestly didn't miss it. He liked being out here far more, but he knew his sister sought another herd like the previous, and he would follow her to the end.
The stallion could guess what the priestess was thinking, and he even though he was born in the desert was intent to agree. Not too far a distance the sand gave way to rock, there would be shadows there in which to rest.
"This way High priestess," he motioned for haste, but getting there would yet be tricky the shifting sands always were one could easily break a hoof not meaning to.

With her brother's guidance she followed his hoofprints carefully. Both of them were blessed by the cat goddesses Bast and Sekhmet. Ramla found though her brother had more sense on where to put his hooves. He could transform into a feline on his own as well. Ramla admittedly was a little Jealous. she had ears and whiskers but lacked the alcor ability. Ramla was not blessed with such a gift. The fleeing pair could see a rock formation a head, Good There was somewhere to rest. Ramla was relieved. She hadn't thought there would be a place to set down. No matter the two of them were becoming exhausted quickly Minka's only feline features were in her face. It looked close but she expected it was still a ways off.
"You see that Minkah?" Ramla wanted to make sure she saw it and it wasn't a Mirage from lord Ra above them. She needed to stop soon. The Sun was would soon be at it's highest point. It would only get hotter hours after and not cool until dark.
Minka's gaze changed to where his high priestess was looking. He could see it too. Minkah nodded "I see it high Priestess." He flicked his feline tail and shifted direction to the rocks. They should make it there soon enough. Though he could tell his sister was becoming Fatigued.they had traveled quite a distance from their fallen home. They traveled in silence, as walked. Expelling unnecessary energy would tire them out all the sooner. As the towering rocks came closer they made it into their shade and the air instantly felt cooler. Minkah had noticed too the ground had hardened underneath his hooves and there was some plant life growing around. Minkah was glad for the little relief. some blessed food in the scarcity of the desert. Though Minkah was mostly a carnivore thanks to his alcor form. Both minkah and Ramla settled at the base of the rocks to rest For a bit.
