The Komihachi Scroll Shop is located on the main stretch of the Kirigakure Market District. It is a two story building, with the store on the first floor and Matsuya Komihachi's apartment on the second floor. The actual shop windows are decorated with posters advertising the shop's products: shinobi learning scrolls. The store itself is arranged in a book store style. There are four rows of shelves with common scrolls on them. More advanced scrolls are located behind the main desk, which is directly across from the door. The store is managed by Matsuya Komihachi.

The upper apartment is a simple three-room apartment with a bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen/living room combo. There is an storage island separating the kitchen and living room areas. The bathroom and bedroom are connected by a small closet. Both the bathroom and bedroom are connected to the living room/kitchen. The apartment is furnished to match the personality of its inhabitant. There are books laying everywhere, some half read. The furniture of the apartment is simple enough to be comfortable to Matsuya.

Matsuya slowly approached the shop, whistling some tune he'd picked up. He looked at the building that was to be his from this day forward. In current condition, it wasn't too much to look at. He smiled and walked to the front door and unlocked it with the key the ANBU agent had given him. He'd have this place up and running in a few days at most. Some new paint, some flyers in the windows, and maybe some statues by the doors. As he walked into the first-floor shop area, Matsuya realized he'd have more work ahead of him than he'd thought. The shelves were all dusty and there were cobwebs starting in the corners. Still, he did enjoy a challenge. And if this place was to be his home and place of business, Matsuya would gladly invest time and care into it. He lumbered up the squeaky stairs with his cardboard box of things and the knapsack on his back. He nudged open his apartment door with his boot.

This too would need some work, though not as much as the shop. The apartment was wonderful as far as Matsuya was concerned. He put his box and bag down on the counter in the kitchen area and walked through the rooms. He had a bathroom, a bedroom, and the living room/kitchen. It just needed a good sweeping and furniture and it would be Matsuya's version of "cozy", which probably entitled a lot of junk laying everywhere. He smiled wide to himself. He'd begin work tonight when he got home. If he didn't pick up a bed by then, he'd just make due with what he had. Matsuya walked down stairs to the store and walked out into the street. He locked the door behind him and start making his way towards the cemetery. He'd put this off for too long.

Matsuya sighed and tapped his fingers on the counter of the shop, bored. The shop had been open for about a month since he'd visited Asami and purchased a few pieces of furniture for his apartment. The spring had gone and now Kirigakure was in the middle of one her almost unbearably humid summers. At least it was unbearable to Matsuya, who would complain about most anything these days. He was bored again. The shop had a few customers here and there, but they were legitimate business not his information brokering. He sighed again and pressed his cheek into the cool wood of the counter. He let out a small breath of comfort from the coolness. Just when he thought he'd fall asleep, the bell above the door rang.

Matsuya sprang up, taken off guard for once. He smiled enthusiastically, looking to his potential customer. "Komihachi Scrolls how can I help you?" Matsuya's smile faded when he saw an ANBU agent standing before him, holding out a small slip of paper with the Mizukage's seal on it. "Oh," Matsuya said flatly. He took the paper and read it over quickly. Luo had apparently thought it necessary to call everyone to the Training Facility for squad assignment and boot camp. Matsuya sighed a bit and folded the paper again, tucking it into his robe pocket.

"Best return to your duty then, I'll be off in a bit." The ANBU agent started to turn to leave until Matsuya called out again. Unless you'd like to buy some scrolls?" The agent simply shook their head and walked out of the store, the bell ringing after them. Matsuya stood and stretched his back. He picked up Kage Kira from where she was leaning behind the counter and tucked the blade into his sash. "The Mizukage calls and so I must answer," Matsuya said a little sarcastically. In reality, Matsuya welcomed the chance to leave the shop. He was feeling pent up and bored. He walked over and flipped the sign on the window to 'Closed'. He walked out the door, produced a key from the left sleeve of his robe, and locked the door behind him. The place was safe, he was confident of that. There wasn't an real intel worth stealing in his apartment. And no one seemed to be in the market for scrolls anyway. After tucking the key back into his sleeve, Matsuya started making his way through the village towards the Training Facility, trying to stay cool in the heat.
