Levi headed up the steps and up to the roof. He dusted off the seats and swept the leaves off of the path and the patio.
'This is my one chance to make a good impression.' He thought as he got the rooftop garden ready for visitors, 'Maybe this is my second chance.'
He cleared away any dead foliage and branches from the seating area and table with a little hope left in his heart. It didn't hurt that one of the girls he enjoyed seeing in class was going to be there. He knew tonight could end in tears or in the Infirmary, but he hoped it would end with new friendships and a step away from his lonely past.
After Mica texted he quickly and gently replied, -6? That should give everyone time to get ready. What does everyone want to eat?-Levi-

Mei headed out onto the dorm rooftop garden, she was pleased to see the sun was already passed it's prime in the sky.
((Rolling to notice Levi right away))
Mei didn't notice the mammoth of a man straightening things up around the garden. All she noticed were the beautiful flowers in bloom and the comfortable looking seating area across from where she stood. She began heading over towards the seating area to enjoy the shade and the breathtaking atmosphere around her.

Under other circumstances Levi would have noticed Mei, but he received a text from Mica's phone. He nodded as he read, making sure to memorize it so he could place their order.
He then pressed the speed-dial for the local Chinese restaurant.
When a woman at the restaurant answered he placed the order quickly and precisely, "Good afternoon. It's me, Levi. I wanted to place an order. Uhuh, yes I want my usual. I want to order some other items this time. Some pot stickers, a wanton soup, an order of egg rolls, pork egg foo young and some crab rangoon. Uhuh. Charge it to my card. Thank you."

His voice was enough to catch Mei's attention. She had rarely heard him speak, and when he did most people flinched as if expecting him unleash on anyone in a heart beat. Mei wasn't exactly afraid of Levi, but she wasn't sure about him as a person regardless. He wasn't very social, but she could kind of relate to that.
"Hey Levi. Thanks for treating us to dinner tonight." She said after he got off the phone.

Her voice startled Levi enough to crunch his phone into bits in the palm of his hand.
"You are early. Didn't notice you were here. Sorry." Levi apologized as he sighed over the corpse of his eleventh cell phone this month.
He would have to activate another one later. He tried to maintain his composure as he headed towards a trash can to dispose of the broken phone. He tossed it in and dusted his hands off above the trash can before turning to face Mei.

Mei noticed that Levi crushed the phone in his hand.
"You don't have to apologize to me. I am early. It's okay. Really. Are you alright? Sorry if I surprised you." Mei replied concerned that Levi had hurt himself when he crushed the phone.
Was this what everyone was afraid of? That he was now the biggest threat to Verizon, Sprint and AT&T? She had seen people with unearthly strength before, but not an Angel. Although it was rare, it wasn't exactly scary. Ashtoreth was scary, Levi just seemed nervous.

Levi showed Mei his hands, not even a scratch.
"Oh..." Levi replied nervously, "The phone thing. It happens sometimes. I have a hard time controlling my powers. I am alright. Sorry."
He couldn't help but apologize. He felt guilty even though he knew he didn't do anything. Levi was unsure of what else he could say. It wasn't like he could explain why he was this way other than God decided he was supposed to be this way. He worried deep down that Mei was already contemplating leaving.

Mei was confused and slightly worried by his response.
"We'll why don't you come sit down and relax? I promise I won't do anything mischievous." Mei replied hoping that Levi was as hardy as he appeared.
'I wonder if that is why I never see him anywhere but in class. I wonder if that is why he is here. Who knows and who cares. I am supposed to be the one who is terrified here and he seems like he is the one who is scared to death of me. Great, my reputation really does suck that bad.' Mei thought.

Levi headed over to where Mei stood in the seating area and sat down. His cheeks went slightly red and he stared down at the grass and looked as if his thoughts could make it grow.
'She never talks to me. What am I going to say? We have barely said hello outside of class.' Levi panicked internally, 'What could we possibly talk about until Mica gets back? We have nothing in common. She hangs with demons, I don't hang out with anyone.'

Mei sat down next to Levi and set her purse down underneath the chair.
"So, how did Mica talk you into buying us dinner?" Mei commented, "I won't lie I was kind of surprised he ended up your roommate. I didn't think Angels were alright with rooming and befriending demons. Well at least according to Az it is apparently unacceptable."

"To be honest, I am surprised he wanted to stay once he realized I was his roommate." Levi replied, "It really doesn't bother me that he is a demon. As long as he doesn't do anything to me, it is none of my business. Mica isn't bad. A little hyper, but I have dealt with worse. As for dinner, I was ordering dinner anyway. I didn't mind ordering for other people. I figured it might be nice eating dinner with other people."

"You are pretty open minded considering you are an Angel. Az makes me sick sometimes with how he blindly hates demons. I guess I always thought that one had to exist so the other could exist. I might be a little biased, my parents are demons and I was raised by Ashtoreth. Being handed over to Az wasn't exactly an easy transition for me. Yeah he cares and he tries to do the right thing for me, but he wants me to put the blinders on and forget my past so I can be the perfect little angel he wants me to be." Mei replied, "I should probably shut up. I don't want to alienate you so soon."

Considering how often Ashtoreth tries to recruit me, I have had my moments of wondering if I was on the wrong side. It's cool if you like demons, anyone who has an issue with that should just mind their own business. I could live with Az leaving me alone too. I totally understand the pressure you feel. I get a little bit of that bullshit from Az myself. It can't possibly compare to how much pressure he puts on you as his adopted daughter."

Mei shrugged and commented, "It could be worse I guess. I don't think he realizes how pushy he is. As for if you are on the wrong side, no offense but there is no way you could be a demon. I am sure you aren't perfect all day every day, no one is. You just don't seem like anything that could be a born demon. I guess under some circumstances anyone can join the fallen or the damned. God knows my parents didn't want to be demons. They were damned by other people who cursed them. So maybe that is possible. You just don't seem like a demon to me."
