Niflhel sighed as he sat on a rooftop looking at the chain in his hands. He couldn't quite put his finger on it; but he didn't want to tell Polaris quite yet. "You haven't let me down but are you trying to tell me something?"
Okay so it was really stupid that he was talking to the weapon but he didn't figure anyone else was around. While it also couldn't answer he thought maybe he sat there and pondered long enough he'd figure out what he could do about it.
"I just don't understand the sudden idea of you acting weird, it's been what almost two years...." He was fiddling with the chain, twirling a little portion of it.

Zia's presence on the rooftop was announced with a loud, "HEY, YOU!" Shouted from his side and then the sound of a cell phone camera and flash going off when he looked up.
"Fantastic," She laughed, flopping down to sit next to him, playing with her cellphone.
"Long time no see, bro," She added, elbowing him in the side while her eyes stayed focused on the phone, entirely unawares of his apparent confusion with his weapon.
She had things to do, after all.

Niflhel looked up startled and a little more so when he got his picture snapped. "Wh-at are you doing?" he asked not quite the welcome he was expecting from the cat.
"You...." He paused, "Where've you been, I haven't seen you around lately." He said dismissing the chain for now, to keep from fiddling with it. Granted that wouldn't last long as he'd summon back again eventually.
"And... why are you snapping surprise pictures?" He lofted a brow, "You could've just asked any time you wanted one." Though now that he thought about it she'd probably consider that too easy.

"But then I wouldn't get this amazing, photogenic vogue," Zia laughed, showing him the candid photo. "Nah, I know, I just enjoy surprising you."
Her jovial disposition seemed to temper down a bit at the question of where she'd been. "Not a lot of places, lately," She mumbled, quietly fiddling with her phone. "I guess I kind of quit. And then I got shoved back into things. And then... bad things happened." She cleared her throat and tried to kick back into her schadenfreude-esque glee. "So whatcha doin'?"
And she had changed, quite a bit. Hair was a mess of curls, pinned up as best she could get them. Clothes consisted of ripped jeans, simple shirt, baggy zipper hoodie. And then, of course, just the oddity of being entirely human and joining him on the rooftop nonetheless.

Niflhel watched her as she showed him the picture. He chuckled, "Alright, I'll let you off with that one." He said sighing.
He tilted his head, "Was that what that... odd text message was about?" He asked curiously speaking about one back in November. He wasn't going to let the schadenfreude-esque glee last long. His honey brown eyes looked at her seriously.
"Well..." He sighed as he summoned his chain again, "It's being... weird." He said looking at her, "I don't know... if you've ever dealt with this with your cavaliers but... it's like somethings wrong." He frowned a bit, glancing over her clothing it wasn't her typical clothing.
"You... have a place to stay right?" He asked suddenly. He hoped she wasn't staying on some street.

"Oh, that," Zia glanced in the other direction, letting her feet kick at the air below them. "Dark Mirror senshi. Uh... Uh, j-just something that got ugly," She rubbed her wrists where he'd held her down absentmindedly at the memory.
"It's okay now. Kind of. I just... I just wanted, you know, cover all my bases, if you'd seen him." She shrugged. "It's okay now," She repeated, like she was convincing herself more than him.
The chain topic was a welcome distraction. "Weird how?" She chirruped, suddenly alert and paying attention again as she leaned closer to get a better look. "Like... bad feelings?" She asked, brow knitting as she made a concerned frown.
And very obviously and purposely avoided his question about having a place to stay. Because the alley cat most certainly did not.

Niflhel nodded watching her seriously, he didn't believe for a second it was all okay. "We really need to find you a way to get in contact with us." He sighed rubbing his head, forgot the fact that Ares had that bounty on his head, "You can't be going around having those close of calls without at least having someone to help you."
He was concerned, and he might have to mention to Polaris that he'd talked with Zia/Zirconia.
"I... can't explain it, but it's like.... something's wrong with it." He was struggling to explain it. How could he put it in terms that she'd understand? "Okay so like, this is probably a horrible example; but like if you had your favorite pair of jeans and wore them forever, but suddenly one day they didn't seem to fit right and just feels... weird... that's about the best way I can describe it."
He frowned when she didn't answer him, "If you need a place to crash, my house is open you know. Polaris is already staying there, she won't mind." He added, after all he offered his house to the shepherds, having an extra person showing up wouldn't be weird at all. "Just in case you ever need it."

"I have a cell phone," Zia said like a child being defensive about a scolding, and then remembered, "Oh. No, I--... nevermind," She had gotten rid of her old phone when she more or less 'quit' the war. But he probably would've had her new number if he got that text anyway. Nevertheless she pulled a sharpie from her back pocket and wrote her new number on he back of his hand with a hum and zero invitation.
"It's okay now," She repeated, and then added with a guilty cringe. "I kinda... I kinda made a deal with him." And after a pause, she gave a weak laugh in an attempt to joke. But it was hollow. "So now if you do see him try not to kill him."
The weapon think was disconcerting, though. "It's practically a part of you, if it feels... wrong... that's something to be concerned about," She said, feeling her stomach knot just thinking about it. "You should trust your instincts, especially if you feel them through this."
She cleared her throat, obviously uncomfortable about the subject of places to stay and her lack of one. "I might... I mean just a night or two on your couch would probably help miles," She mumbled, rubbing the back of her neck.

Niflhel looked at her like cell phones don't always work if you're in a battle. Then he watched as she scribbled the number on his hand. Well that was one way to do it.
Niflhel nodded softly, "I won't, I'll just leash him and bring him to you how's that sound?" He asked, that last part sounded like it could be a joke, but well it was hard to tell.
Niflhel nodded, "I don't know what to do about it though, it seems to work fine. It's not like it's not doing what it normally does.... it's just weird." There was a grimace. "I don't know if I need to go and have a look around at my wonder or not..."
He'd been debating this for a while.
He nodded, "Well you're free to come and go as you please, and you don't have to stay on the couch there's a guest room." He said with a shake of his head, "Polaris has gram's old room."
He paused, "I can set you up a mirror if you need it."
He was thinking, maybe between the three of them, Polaris and Zia included; they could figure out what was going on with his weapon. After all you couldn't go wrong with a cat and princess helping, could you? "Maybe while you're crashing the three of us, could take a small 'vacation' on Niflhel. See if we can dig anything up of importance."

"He might be a little traumatized about leashes after I kinda... strangled him with a belt," Zia said honestly and shrugged a little, leaving out the part the next progression in that fight ended up with him on top of her in an alleyway.
"I made a deal with him, so I would really like to not have him scared off by further violence."
She rested her elbows on her knees and propped her head up with her hands with a 'hmph' as she started at the weapon. "If you feel like it's calling you to your wonder, you should go," She stated with a touch of urgency. "And take me along for the ride, definitely." But that was more just because she would jump at any chance to get the hell off earth.
"I might crash, yah," She said with a casual brush off. The understatement of the sentiment was left untouched on for now, though.

Niflhel couldn't help but laugh at that notion. "You... strangled him with a belt...." He shook his head, "Well that's one way of doing it." He said with a sigh.
He nodded, "I suppose, but if he tries to drag me to Ares I can't promise anything." He was rubbing as his neck with one hand where the Parallel Queen had left some serious marks in his neck.
He nodded softly, "Alright, I was thinking both you and Polaris, I mean not to be paranoid but with a princess and a cat, if something was going to go wrong we could hopefully keep it under control." There was a sigh as he offered to let her examine the weapon in more depth, not that there was much to the chain. "I just wish I knew what was up with it."
He nodded as she said she might crash again. At least she wouldn't be out on the streets, specially in the cold.

"He won't," Zia promised. She didn't trust Orpheus as far as she could throw him, which wasn't far considering he was a big boy. But she was sure all of his hate he had for Ares was genuine. Mutual hate was just as strong a bond as anything.
She didn't have anything to say about the cat bit. Though with that and if she had known he was thinking of Ares as 'the parallel queen' she probably would've shoved him right off the ledge.
She didn't touch his weapon. She didn't really with anyone's even when offered except for Alfheim's. It was a personal thing, it felt weird to manhandle it.
"I just want to get off this shitty rock," She admitted childishly, kicking her feet at the empty air.

Niflhel nodded, and actually Niflhel knew that Ares wasn't the true Queen, but that seemed to be the spot that the now batshit woman had taken up. Which was a pity, to say the least.
"I think everyone has those days," He said, looking towards her, "At least the ones of us that know we can go somewhere else than this particular rock. Granted there's a lot shittier rocks out there too I bet." He was trying to cheer her up a bit, if that was even possible, "We'll go soon." He promised, "At least my little rock you don't have to have a nice winter coat, as far as I know." Unlike Polaris' homeworld it seemed that Niflhel had a fairly stable climate in the warmer degrees, though he wouldn't be surprised if it did snow once in a while.

"You don't understand," Zia huffed in a tone that clearly indicated it was a subject best dropped, and then mumbled something under her breath that while unintelligible, sounded a little something like self pity.
"It's not your rock, it's Saturn's rock," She added, trying to get back to teasing him. But it just sounded petty instead.
