A dainty green landed carefully on the ledge of a weyr that was not her own. Her rider slipped down, a bright smile on the woman's face as her beloved green turned to nuzzle her head against the rider's back. The sky was bright and clear, with a gentle breeze rolling in from the sea. Despite the dark events that had transpired some weeks ago, Ista Weyr seemed to be fortunately settling into some normalcy once again, as it always did. The green nudged insistently at the woman, pushing her into the weyr, while she shifted about, clearly excited for what was in store.

"Alright, alright, Yod, I'm going," Cesa laughed, walking into her best friend's weyr. "T'rel!" she called ahead of her as way of warning. "You better be decent, 'cause I'm coming in anyway. “Hi Zellie." The rider offered the bronze a grin; he would already know why she was here. Cesa and Yodith and included Zelith in their planning, they both liked him anyway, so it had been no bother.

Practically skipping past the dragon, Cesa looked about for T’rel. Honestly, his weyr was a mess. She stepped around the clothes that littered the floor and shook her head at all the papers scattered about. Clicking her tongue Cesa walked into T’rel’s sleeping quarters. “We’re gonna be giving this a clean later,’ she muttered under her breath, before noticing T’rel lying on his bed. Crossing to his bedside she looked down at the rider, fingers laced behind her back. “You planning on staying in here forever?” He better not be, Cesa wasn’t above dragging the man out into the sun against his will.

Zelith had been sleeping on their weyr's ledge when Cesa approached. He acknowledged her by opening one great whirling green eye before snorting in her direction. He twitched his tail in amusement before stretching. Hello, Yodith's. You should have told me when we were going. I was going to nap. He gave another a snort in her direction. He glanced towards his rider's cot, stretching his jaws wide as a yawn escaped him. You will have to convince him, Yodith's. I have suggested many times for him to get out of bed today. He will not.

"Mrr?" T'rel did seem to have been sleeping. He acknowledged Cesa's presence quite like his dragon had. He pulled a bedfur over his head. "Go 'way, Cesa. I'm sleeping." He paused and considered her question, sitting up in bed for a moment. "Yes," he said at last, yawning. "Yeeeeees," the word was stretched with another yawn, "I do." He flopped back onto his cot, grumbling under his breath. "Do you have to let all that sunlight in?" he grumped. "Shards, Cesa. I hope you at least brought breakfast." It was lucky he hadn't heard her comment on cleanliness. The man could become very nasty when he felt he hadn't gotten enough sleep.

He sat up again, bedfur over his head. "Whaddya want?" he demanded groggily. "Are you still here?"

"I'm sorry, love, I'll have Yodith call you ahead of time next time." It was hard to surprise a slight slip of laughter as she gave the dragon an apologetic look before shifting focus onto his rider. Now that she thought about it, she really should have told Zelith when they intended to carry out the plan. She was sure Yodith could make it up to him, she was better than Cesa at being diplomatic; the woman didn't really know how to make it up to dragons. People were easy, food normally did the trick.

Looking down at the rider Cesa raised an eyebrow and huffed slightly as he pulled the bedfur over his head. Looked like Zelith hadn't been exaggerating. "Well I thought maybe some sunlight would do you good, stop ya turning into a wher." There was a tolerating friendliness to Cesa's voice. She wasn't about to tear his bedfur off and drag him from his weyr by his ankles. ...Yet. T'rel got a fair chance to get out of bed of his own accord. "You've slept through breakfast. Best you're getting is a meatroll or a fruit." She wasn't gonna go making him something if he couldn't even get up on time for it.

"Yes, I'm still here and I want you to get your lazy butt out of bed." Reaching out she pushed gently at T'rel's shoulder, she was just trying to nudge, not knock him over. Taking the bedfur between her thumb and forefinger, she pulled it off his head, her other hand on her hip. "Come on, we're having a day out. Everything's ready, we just need you."

"'m a wher, you're too late," came T'rel's muffled response. "Being out in the sunlight will hurt my eyes, Cesa. I'll come out later, come nightfall. Maybe." He pulled the bedfur off of his head to smirk at her when she attempted to pull it away from him. His curly blond hair was tousled and his tunic was rumpled. Still, he beamed at her, stretching his arms over his head. "I'm not getting up," he informed her. "I'm stretching."

He gave another yawn, this one clearly false. He rubbed at his eyes. "Mmm, I'm exhausted," he teased her, flopping back down onto his cot. "What brings you to trouble this hardworking rider, hm? I was finally getting some rest after fighting Thread," he crossed his arms, poaching out his lower lip for effect. "And you interupt my sleep! It'll be a wonder if I don't have wrinkles by the end of the turn." He slowly got out of bed, looking to his friend.

"A day out?" he repeated, frowning slightly. "Cesa I--" he hesitated, glancing towards Zelith. "I suppose..."

Cesa rolled her eyes before a laugh bubbled over at the idea of T'rel being a wher. "Well, you are one frightfully small wher, I must say." She shook her head at his scruffy appearance, honestly, he was a state. "You not a very good-looking wher either." She pulled a jokingly judgemental face, crossing one arm over the other and putting her fingers to her lips in thought. A moment passed before she shook her head and tutted with faked disappointment. "Nope, you'll never win any runs looking like that." She returned T'rel's grin, if only to prove she was only teasing him. Cesa was sure that had he been born a wher then T'rel would be a perfectly fine one.

The dark-haired woman let out an exasperated sigh as the rider stretched; honestly she was going to drag him out by his ear in a moment. His yawn however encouraged her slightly, until he threw himself back down again. "T'rel, thread was a while ago now. I've not seen you since they let me out of the infirmary and I was starting to get worried. You're lucky Zelith convinced me you were okay." Yodith thinking to call and ask Zelith if his rider was well had been the only thing stopping Cesa from running over the first day she didn't see T'rel. Luckily the bronze had been able to convince her that T'rel was not harmed, but he did need to get out. So she'd set about getting it done.

Cesa detected the hesitation in T'rel and the fact that he didn't sound all too thrilled at the idea, but a 'suppose' was all she needed. The woman beamed when T'rel agreed, well, didn't protest at least. "Yay! I got it sorted, I have food packed and got Tic to excuse us from drills as well." Cesa spoke as she walked, spinning on her heel and walking to a chest where T'rel kept clothes. Pulling out a shirt she swiftly made her way back to him. "Do change your shirt, T'rel." There was a hint of laughter in her voice as she held the garment out to him. "I found us an island to explore. Like when we were younger. Back when you'd drag me off to every island you found, I'm surprised I managed to find one we hadn't already seen." Cesa had a moment of smiling softly at the memories of when T'rel had been a Weyrling, constantly pulling her from her chores and work in the kitchens to go see, do or explore something.

"What's wrong with my shirt?" T'rel protested at once, taking the proffered garment. He removed his shirt, pausing to look over his shoulder to see if Cesa was watching him--and pulled the clean one on. "Satsified?" He tossed the rumpled tunic at her, grinning. "Alright, I'm clean. Let's--" he paused, glancing at his bronze. "You knew all along, didn't you?" he accused the dragon, shaking his head in disbelief. "You could've warned me."

You would not have gone, Zelith snorted in his direction, amused at his rider's antics. Now you will go, and make Yodith's feel better. She has been worried about you, Mine.

T'rel went to Cesa's side, brushing his hand against hers playfully. "I'm sorry I made you worry," he muttered. "I don't--I--" he hesitated, flushing. "Thread," he said at last, as an explanation.

"You've been sleeping in it." That was enough for her. You didn't wear clothes outside after you had slept in them. Still she was pleased when T'rel took the shirt from her, at least she didn't have to convince him to do that too. Apparently changing was easier to accept than getting up. That wasn't really that surprising, T'rel had never been a morning person after all.

When Cesa saw T'rel look over his shoulder at her, her mind laughed slightly. Being from Ista, the rider had no issue with other people's bodies, she'd shared a communal bathing area the majority of her life, the sight of a man with his shirt off didn't phase her. This may have been what her logical mind was saying, but another part decided to have Cesa do something else entirely. When T'rel's gaze met hers, Cesa's hand flew to her chest. "Be still my heart," she said in a purposely breathy voice. Letting out a deliberately feminine sigh, Cesa pressed the back of her hand to her forehead and fell backwards onto T'rel's bed. The perfect imitation of a damsel swooning.

Sitting up again she laughed as the dirty shirt was thrown at her. "Eww, don't go throwing your manky clothes at me." Flicking the offending garment away, Cesa let it just lie on T'rel's bed. Putting it where it belonged seemed pointless amongst all the other mess. It was the clothes being dirty that bothered her, it was more the fact it had got her right in face, causing her to flail slightly. "Yes, I'm satisfied."

Standing up Cesa stopped when T'rel came to her side. She offered her friend a warm smile as he stumbled over his excuses. "It's alright," she said taking his hand and giving it a quick squeeze, before letting go and giving him the lightest of clips round the head. "But don't make a habit of it."

T'rel paused when he heard Cesa's reaction, turning to investigate. For a moment, a smug expression crossed his features. He smirked. It faded when realization seemed to strike him. He crossed his arms. "Cesa," he put a hand on her shoulder and shook her gently. "Stop teasing and show me this island of yours, will you?"

He gave her a smile when she sat up. "Well? Does Zellie have the coordinates?" he asked, returning the squeeze. It was easier to change the subject than to continue speaking about something unpleasant. "Let's go, Cesa," he said, flashing her a warm smile. He leaned closer to her and placed a kiss on her cheek before darting out of the weyr.

"Last one there's going to collect glows with the weyrbrats!" he called a challenge to her.

Cesa had pouted at T'rel's apparent lack of enjoyment at her teasing, and she had made it so convincing too. Still, at least he was smiling once she got up, which was definitely an improvement. "Mmhm, Yodith has already shown him where it is." She let T'rel's hand slip from hers. The subject had been changed and there was no need to bring it up again. She understood why he had done what he'd done and he understood it had worried her. If she was lucky then maybe next time he would contact her, or even go so far as to leave his weyr, next time something happened.

Honestly, T'rel was such a cheat. Distracting her with a kiss and then running off without giving her any warning. Cesa had to scramble just to get going. Never mind that T'rel's legs were longer than hers, she had no hope of catching up to the bronzerider. Still, she tried her hardest, dashing out the weyr and onto the ledge where Yodith waited, still eager to get going. "You cheater!" Cesa said through her laughter, that hadn't been fair in the slightest.

The green dragon trilled a greeting to T'rel, though Zelith had clearly earned himself a crooning welcome instead. The green dragon was almost dancing in place as she bent her head to nuzzle her head against Cesa's chest. The rider smiled and hugged the dragon as she sought attention. Once their customary greeting was out of the way, Cesa climbed up and secured herself on Yodith's back. "You might be faster on foot, but me and Yodith are faster in the air." Cesa sent back her own challenge to T'rel and in this case to Zelith as well. Yodith cheerfully echoed the challenge, leaping off the ledge to begin the game. Well, T'rel hadn't given any starting call, why should they?

"No fair!" T'rel laughed, climbing onto Zelith's back. Despite his his protest, the man was grinning broadly. He fixed his straps, ensuring that they were tight. He stroked his bronze's neck. Let's show Yodith what you can do, hm, Zellie? he instructed Zelith to take off. "We'll still win!" he called over the gusts created by Zelith's wings. "You may have an advantage now--" He was cut off as Zelith took them between. When they emerged over the island, T'rel frowned. You could have warned me, he complained. Wasn't this supposed to be a straight race?

And have you continue taunting them while we lagged behind? Zelith snorted in amusement. Yodith is very fast, he added, as if in afterthought. Hers is a very skilled rider. They will meet us. Or perhaps beat us. Yodith was very fast, after all.

They hovered, T'rel thinking over his bronze's words. He'd never noticed Zelith's interest in Yodith. Or was it a new development? They hadn't appeared to be especially friendly. Was it the competition that had sparked the bronze's interest?

"You can race her again later," T'rel teased. "But with your bulk, you haven't got a--" Zelith gave another snort. "You're not always going to win, love," T'rel muttered, rolling his eyes. "I'm sure there's somewhere you can sun. Maybe you could have a swimming race, hm?"

Zelith and T'rel's little disappearing act sparked a competitive fire in both females. The set of males had clearly decided to take it to a whole different level with that little stunt. Well, if they wanted a race, then they would certainly be getting one. Yodith didn't accept defeat from anyone lying down and Cesa had no intention of allowing T'rel any kind of bragging rights. The green blinked between, determination firmly in the minds of both rider and dragon.

The pair exploded into the air, a challenging roar erupting from the small green's throat, as they hovered for a moment above their opponent. The bronze pair had not landed and Yodith had no intention of allowing them to do so first. Twisting in the air the green turned into a near vertical dive, passing purposely close to Zelith just to taunt him and his rider. Turning sharply away Yodith trilled, performing lazy twirls as she descended. They must understand that Yodith could not be beaten in a race, greens were built for speed after all and the petite green was certainly adept enough to flaunt her agility.

Eventually the green did land; being sure to cut short any acrobatics just to be certain that she was the one to touch ground first. There was no point showing off if she ended up losing in the end. Cesa slid from the green back and patted her beloved's shoulder, her face was flushed from the activity, but her grin hadn't dimmed in the slightest. Yodith hummed her satisfaction at her victory, continuing to do so even as Cesa unfastened the straps from around her body. Turning her green head the dragon's expression was smug as she regarded her opponent; she gave a cocky tail flick in the bronze's direction. Try and pit himself against her, would he?

Cesa laughed, her dragon's pleasure at success clearly rubbing off on her as she folded Yodith's straps in her arms. "Not even with cheating did you manage to win, huh, T'rel? You should've known better than to try and take on me and Yodith." The woman smug grin was enough to match her dragons as she called to the bronzerider.

Zelith landed near Yodith with a decidedly defeated thump. You win, the bronze informed her, bitterly. The bronze did so hate to be beaten. He was constantly in a state of astonishment when it did happen. You win. But next time, I will win. Zelith curled his tail about himself, lowering his body to the ground for his rider to get off.

"I didn't cheat," T'rel protested as he used Zelith's foreleg to scramble down. "It was Zellie's idea! He didn't even warn me." The man complained as he worked at removing his bronze's riding gear. "Has a mind of his own." He leaned against the dragon in question, crossing his arms. "We would've landed first, if he hadn't suddenly decided to be polite and wait for you two," he grumbled halfheartedly. He paused and flashed her a sudden grin. "Race you to the picnic spot?" he challenged her.

He started into the woods. "Come on, Cesa!" he called to her. "I bet there's a perfect clearing in here!"
PostPosted: Thu Feb 21, 2013 3:24 pm

A quiet rumble came from the small green at Zelith being so put out by being beaten by her. She didn't anticipate the other dragon being that bothered by what she had seen as a harmless game. Stepping closer to Zelith she nudged the larger dragon's jaw with her nose as she hummed softly. Fair much better you will when next we race, I am sure.

"Mmhm." Cesa nodded with a tad of dramatic sympathy as T'rel gave his excuses. "That Zelith, deciding a cheat and then to be chivalrous afterward. He must of had a change of heart." She didn't believe that for a moment. Regardless of which of the two's idea it was to use between as a short cut, Cesa was still confident that Yodith would have been able to win. If there was one thing Cesa always had confidence in, it was Yodith. There was no way that her fast, little, Yodith could lose to a big bronze like Zelith.

T'rel's sudden grin had her suspicious, but there was little time for her to indulge the feeling before he shot off into the woods. "Hey!" She called after the rider as he disappeared into the trees and she started after him. That was until she remember that actually she had to take the food with her in the first place. Turning around she grabbed the basket and shot off after T'rel. "See you later, you two. Have fun and look after her for me Zelith!" Cesa called back to the two dragons as she headed into the woods, with no real idea which direction T'rel had gone in.

"He's going to take that very seriously," T'rel teased Cesa when she was in earshot. "I don't know if Yodith will appreciate that." He wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Let's not, and say we did," he said, in reference to the race. "Look here, Cesa. Everything's so beautiful. I can't believe we hadn't found this island before. I think it's worth the wait." He fell silent, and instead of speaking, wrapped his finger in a strand of her hair. "I'm glad you brought me here," he said at last. "It's really like when I was a weyrling. Do you remember when I took you to see snow?" That had been another time; a time before Thread and worries about tithing had ruled his life. A time before his worries had been more than drills and what to do during his freetime.

"Or when we found that boat?" At seventeen turns old, T'rel had been excitable--about most everything. He had found an old abandoned boat on one of the smaller islands--and planted a surprise for Cesa there. He had taken Cesa, claimed they had found treasure when he'd made a point to find what had been planted--and given it to her. He didn't think Cesa had ever realized that the necklace he had planted there had been newly bought. Or if she had, she had never mentioned it.

Zelith had indeed took Cesa's words to heart. He had turned one great green eye onto Yodith and watched her steadily. I am looking after you, he informed her, importantly. Do not worry, Yodith. I will take care of you.
