Aella had made it a point to drop by Flux before the arranged date, getting to know the Volus owner, Doran, and speaking to a few of the regulars. Some had been a little cold towards her, others nervous, but that was to be expected. Not everyone was fond of C-Sec after all. Not until they needed them anyway. Huffing quietly as she sat in her chair, the Turian sipped a suspiciously alcoholic looking drink. It was virgin of course, she was on the job as far as she was concerned, but keeping up appearances was a must here.

Shifting uncomfortably, she tilted her head as the sound of the techs installing the new gambling consoles upstairs dropped something and one swore. She'd already scoped out the company and found it legit, but that extra bit of movement was adding to her edginess.

Bringing up her omnitool Aella started the recorder nonchalantly, although it was technically bad ethics to record anyone without their prior consent; but this was off the record. Not that she would lie if a superior asked. The thought soured quickly and she pulled her mandibles in tightly for a moment in a grimace. Perhaps she was more like her parents than she cared to admit, more... 'creative' than the Hierarchy approved of. She really needed some sort of proof though, something she could bring to her superiors and pique their interest. Saying she had a bad feeling about a Quarian might get her at best a few sympathetic nods and at worst a label of being racist even though everyone else would be thinking the same thing.

Watching the aerogel screen fade away, she took another sip and eyed the front door. Her perch put her back to the wall with a good view of the doorway and within earshot of the bar. Which was as much of a bane as a boon, in hindsight. Each measured and pressurized breath of Doran's suit made her want to lift her head in his direction. It was just loud enough to jar her attention. Couldn't have everything though, she supposed. It would do, or at least she hoped so.

The bouncer at the door pointedly looked at her and nodded slightly, drawing her attention. She's spoken to him prior and had offered to help her investigation however he may. After all, a bouncer with a tie-in with C-sec got paid more; bars loved it when their 'problems' disappeared. She inclined her head in acknowledgement and took another sip, waiting for the Quarian to arrive.

Kar made his way to the club, priding himself in only having to check the map on his omnitool once, when he had gotten turned around in the access corridors. Besides his map, the closer he got to Flux, the more signs he saw that kept pointing him along. Almost annoyingly so. Still, he walked up the last flight of stairs with a few minutes to spare; no sense in being late to a meeting that he had set up, with an officer nonetheless.

Pausing at the door, he suddenly realized that perhaps he should have checked out this place beforehand; he was going to stand out while he stood there gawking at everything inside. The human guarding the door gave him a once-over before returning his attention to the interior of the room, and beyond him Kar found the source of the music and lights, though the dance floor was only sparsely occupied. There were stairs leading to an elevated room, and the upper landing had a few tables set up, but the space seemed to be primarily occupied by techs installing...some manner of gambling machines. This close to the dance floor, the music drowned out any noise they might have been making. The lower part of the club held the main seating area and the bar, as well as a giant window out into space. There was a Volus behind the bar, and he wondered if they served anything for Quarians as well. It wouldn't be too much to switch from containers of food for one species to another, after all. The next thing that caught his interest was the window, and he amused himself with ideas of what the specs of whatever material they used would be, probably plasteel from the look of it. A window of that size must be either reinforced or maybe--oh. Kar paused for a moment as he realized the C-Sec officer was already seated. And staring at him.

Ending his momentary lapse into a tourist-like state, he approached the table, a little disconcerted that she was framed by the impressive view of the Citadel. He wondered for a moment if she had done this on purpose, but dismissed it. She had offered to help him, so it wasn't like he was going to be interrogated.

Taking the seat across from her, he nodded at her in greeting, and tried out the translator on his VI, speaking a bit slow to start.

"Good afternoon, Officer Tullius. I apologize if I kept you waiting for too long."

She watched him intensely, studying his movements and analyzing each gesture. Suspiciously there wasn't anything interesting or out of the ordinary. Like he knew she knew and was on to him. Everything screamed 'day-dreaming tourist' as he looked around Flux. He seemed so much like a Quarian that had never seen anything quite like the Citadel before. It was aggravating her to no end.

None of his movements looked like signs or symbols or anything she could look up. Nobody showed any signs of recognition towards him. No acknowledgement, not outward signs of his secret agenda. Was he just that good? This young?

The Turian took a careful sip of the concoction, keeping her eyes above the rim of the glass and trailing the male as he moved around the entrance. She caught the look the bouncer threw her way, sort of a mix of disbelief and 'are you sure this is the guy?'. Aella just turned her stare to him for a moment before refocusing on the Quarian. It was about then that he seemed to notice her for the first time instead of star-gazing out the window. His posture changed immediately and he looked... sheepish, for lack of a better word. Not that she could clearly see his expression, Turian eyes had developed along the predator lines to detect movement on land, not through water; and thus not quite through faceplates either.

She did little more than put her drink down and straighten up as he came closer and grabbed the chair across from her. Returning the informal greeting and declining her head once in a curt nod, she clasped her talons together and rested her elbows on the table before speaking.

"And to you, Kar'Hallarn. Did you want to get something to drink before telling me what it was that you needed the Councilor's help with?"

She tilted her head towards Doran and the bar in a silent offer before suddenly realizing that perhaps he'd be unable to.

"Unless of course your suit can't permit it. I'll be honest in admitting I'm not sure what your limitations are."
