Okay so getting riled up and storming out of the café to show Bolero and Rakesh she wasn’t weak just because she wasn’t half Kirin like they were had backfired. She also knew it wasn’t because she was a normal either and more the fact she was a girl. Bolero was convinced that she was going to kill herself if she dared to walk outside and when he had learned of her powers… she so wasn’t going to go there. So what if she had a weird healing power that often hurt her. She just wanted to go out and make friends and see the world like they did. Bolero was always out with his friend Kaito or something and singing and being all epic like. He was closer to mom too as he had inherited the music powers of the family. Then there was Rakesh, while she loved her brother he was very loud and often out making mischief with his best friend foxglove. Mom and Dad were out being the romantic couple that they were. Luckily her grandfather had stepped in and taken the role of her best friend for the time being, but he should have been out living his life and she needed to find other friends that weren’t family. However right now… she was cursing out a map. She had grabbed the map and grocery list in her dash to make a point and had gotten so worked up she was practically a glowing orange beacon. So on top of not being able to see herself… the map sucked. “Figures I can already hear the lecture when I get home” she sighed.

Hecate was rarely let outside, mostly because of the incident with Bane and her birth-father when she was a bowl. Apollo was protective and Pandora was paranoid, and then there was Fracta, who would murder anyone who harmed Pandora's family. It didn't help that they were connected to the Tra'veil family, a family with magic, the head of the family a demon who ate fear. This did not help Hecate's attempts to leave the house, for both families would happily leap down her throat and try to force her to stay home. Remedy and Fracta were more reasonable.... though even Remedy could be hushed by his mate, Apollo, at times.
It also didn't help that she had liquid shadows, a liquid that dripped from her ears, horns, and wings. Her mother produced an aura of fear that sent others into hysterics if they came too close or touched her, and this aura was passed to Hecate in the form of liquid. Constantly Hecate was warned not to bump into people or slip. Constantly she was told to try and limit how much of the liquid dripped onto the ground or onto others. Hecate also breathed fire and had fire touching her back, another thing that frightened Pandora out of her wits. Pandora was convinced someone would harm Hecate, or worse, take her away like Bane had been.
So, the fact she was even able to get outside (at night!) was a shock. She was humming to herself as she walked, ears flicking every few seconds when she heard movement. A voice caused her head to jerk up, eyes flicking to view a glowing woman. Oh! Was she lost? Skipping right over, the girl flicked her tail quietly and bent forward, eyes raised as she viewed the glowing girl with a...map?
"Lost?"

Well okay she had promised one of her new friends she’d try harder right and not get so discouraged about being different from most of her family. So if she was lost something would happen right? She’d either make sense of this map or some nice Samaritan would come along. Hell maybe even someone trying to mug her or something would happen. Wait no that was back to thinking bad thoughts. It was about then she noticed that her glow was acting up with her emotions again. She was getting a bit distraught so it was only reasonable that her glow had acted up and turned her into a lighthouse beacon.
She looked around to see if it had drawn any attention. She saw a few noodles looking at her and her ears drooped a little bit, but pfft it was like they had never seen a glowing lost girl before. Actually they probably hadn’t. Luckily though it looked as if Bolero hadn’t gone running after her. No sign of Grandpa Yun either and more importantly for her quest to get groceries Daddy wasn’t there to haul her back either. She wondered if she should ask one of the nice staring people for help. Luckily life decided to throw her a good Samaritan instead of a mugger.
“ah… yep. You could tell huh” Vanhi blushed.

Flashing a smile towards the girl, the flaming and dripping Hecate giggled at the others blush, head shaking.
"Sure could! No need to be embarrassed, I'd probably get lost too if I didn't live here." Now, she didn't know if the other did live here, only guessing, but she could remember as a kit how many times she got lost throughout her adventures. Of course she had Apollo with her at all times, but he wasn't good at directions, either!
"Where are you looking to go? I bet I could help if you got the time?" Ahh, her mother would be freaking out if she knew her daughter was talking to strangers! Ever since Bane's kidnap Pandora was a nervous mess. Still, Hecate was known for not listening half the time. Aha.

Vanhi smiled back although still supporting her blush, but she always found that honest smiles where contagious . “Well it’s not more the act of being caught I guess but more I got lost, when I was out to prove myself I guess” Vanhi admitted. “Yep I actually live up the mountain at the café. You’ve probably heard of it, or will eventually hear of it. Bolero is getting pretty famous all of a sudden.” Her tone dropped ever so slightly as she thought of Bolero. She promised she wasn’t going to beat herself up over the fact she wasn’t very remarkable out of her siblings but it did still crop up from time to time.
‘Ah really that would be wonderful thank you” Vanhi stated her glow growing slightly brighter at the fact that someone was actually trying to help. “Well I’m actually trying to find the grocery store. We ran out of ingredients and someone told me one in town was still open.”

At the others glow her own flames swirled and brightened, a smile crossing her features. Bolero? She honestly never heard of it, though it made sense since she hadn't been allowed outside for a long time.
"I've never heard of Bolero." She mused thoughtfully. Maybe that would need to change sometime? Wagging her tail carefully to not burn the other or spill nightmare fluid, she folded her arms and tapped her foot in thought before moved to the side.
"Grocery store? I know where that is! I'd be happy to take you." She also had a few dollars, she could grab some sweets while out, too!

“Well My brother’s been branching out from just singing at the café so it’s probably only a matter of time I think. He’s really good so he’ll definitely go far” Vanhi replied. While she was a bit sad she didn’t have any musical talent she still was pretty proud of Bolero most days.
“Oh really! Thank you, thank you” Vanhi stated. Sure it wasn’t exactly on her own but then getting help and accepting help from others was okay as well. Besides Vanhi always loved meeting others and her companion seemed pretty nice.
“I’m Vanhi Indra by the way” she spoke up. If the other was helping her it was only fair that she gave her name. It would be easier than saying you or trying to avoid the whole name thing.

"I'm Hecate." Her tail wagged gently, proud of herself for not only meeting a new person on her own but also proving her mother and brother wrong and making a friend. Not everyone were evil monsters! Nobody would probably be proud, too! The girl moved slightly, gesturing for her new friend to follow with.
"I've never been to a cafe. What is it like?" Her wings stretched as she glanced back to see Vanhi, head tilting. She didn't work, either, so she was also curious what that was like. Was it hard? Was it fun? Did people hate working?

“Hecate? Like the goddess that ruled over Witchcraft and crossroads? That’s so cool” Vanhi stated and then blushed. Since she often got sick when she was younger she loved getting into her grandfather’s books and just reading away. She hoped she hadn’t weirded out her possible new friend.
“you.. you’ve never been to a café?” Vanhi blinked and then a big smile crossed over her face. “Then you totally have to come up and visit the one my family owns. Cafés are cool places with all sorts of drinks and different pastries and you meet really cool people from all over with awesome stories. Bolero and my mom will often sing so at least ours has cool music. Since it’s your first time I’ll definitely let you have a drink on the house. I ah…. Mmm I can get a little carried away when it comes to our café sorry” Vanhi trialed off blushing even harder.

"Yup! That's the one~" She beamed as Vanhi spoke, delighted someone knew the story of her namesake. The strange woman stopped before a crosswalk, hitting the button for the light across the street to turn green for them to pass, and gestured with a hand for Vanhi to follow once it did. She listened intently as the girl spoke, tail wagging gently.
"It sounds fun! And no no, you can talk as much as you like. I don't get out much so I'm more than happy to hear any stories you have." They walked for a bit, her head raising and glancing up when they passed by various shops. Maybe her mother wouldn't freak out as much if she brought home a plant or more baking books?

“I love reading Greek stories from my grandpa’s library. It’s so cool to meet someone named after them,” Vanhi pointed out. She followed after Hecate and looked around at the scenery. She really hadn’t been out of her small town other than a few times when she was a kit, so new scenery was always exciting to her.
“Well I don’t have too many stories although I would love to explore the world one day. I hear the stories from others and it seems like it would be exciting. However I’m important at the café too. Grandpa needs lots of help since mom and Bolero started singing there.” Vanhi replied looking at the various shops. Café was definitely important as it was something unique to just her being able to help out her grandpa. Heaven knew he needed it.

"Wow. It sounds really awesome to have a place owned by your family!" What did her mother do? Now that she thought about it.... Pandora was usually curled up somewhere trembling or barely holding onto sanity by performing small OCD tasks. Fracta? What did that woman do? Hecate didn't know.... She knew Apollo worked, maybe Remedy did, too. That was how they survived, off her big brothers money. What was it like to own a cafe? Was it fun? Did that mean you had people to talk to constantly? Was it better than being sheltered as she was?
It had to be.
"Hey, you're keeping notes about where we are going, right?" She winked, tail flicking in amusement as her flames swirled and licked her form, twisting into the sky as smoke and trailing into oblivion. Her shadows pooled, threatening to spill, obeying only because Hecate made them with sheer will. She kept a good distance from her companion, refusing to even merely brush her with her tail. That wouldn't be good, would it?

“it wasn’t really at first, I just helped because no one else seemed to be noticing Grandpa having problems, and then I realized it was something that was mine that my older brothers couldn’t do and then it slowly started becoming fun” Vanhi mused. It did take her a while to realize she had that job all to herself because Rakesh didn’t have the patience or really the manners, and Bolero was way too swamped to even attempt to help. Of course she may have secretly helped with that so he could never attempt to work the counter.
“Yep extra careful detail, I always try to remember my surroundings just in case I ever have to go back that way again” Vanhi replied. She noticed the flames and swirling liquid but didn’t bring it up, you never knew when they would be touchy about it, like Vanhi was hesitant about her glow, or if they were going to be like Bolero and show off their oddities the way Hecate stayed partially away made her think it was more the later.

"Lucky~" She purred in response, tail twitching happily side to side. Gosh, it was nice to have someone not family to talk to! It was refreshing indeed! And the other wasn't gawking at her strange additions... Unlike some of the passing noodles. Now those she could do without...
"Oh. Hey. We're here." Slight disappointment touched her tone as she realized her new companion would be going now. Aw. Well, it probably was for the best. She was odd, and dangerous. She was lucky Nobody had a magical charm on her to protect her from Hecate's charm... Hecate had long accepted most would avoid her friendship.

Vanhi let out a smile; it was definitely interesting to hear someone tell her she was lucky. She supposed it was just an outside thing, when it was your own family you tended to not see most of its benefits. Then again she did have a good family her own problems and views aside.
“Oh we are…” Vanhi replied, also a bit sad. “Thank you Miss Hecate for helping me, maybe I’ll um see you again one day. It was fun talking with you, you should definitely try to come to the café?” she suggested. It was always the sad part leaving, she would meet others but it was only one meeting. She wondered how her brothers already had dates and best friends already.
