Ah, his first week in the Celestial Plane was extremely nice. He loved being able to spend more and more time with his grandfather. He didn't get to see him all too often, but he liked the privacy that this place had to offer. He went out every day and played near the pond, went into the training room and worked out, slimming his figure even more and making his strength grow as well. It was exciting to see the changes that would occur with his body over this time. He could feel himself being more independent and relying more on his own instincts and feelings. Hah, feelings. Those he had all too many of. What happened back with Maslin at the cottage was a bit weird to him. For some strange reason, the feelings he began to create within himself during his display of power...those were...different. More different than any of his many other feelings he's had towards people. Did he...have a crush? No, no, not on Maslin! That would just be silly! All of everyone he knew liked the opposite sex, it was weird for him to think that he may actually find Maslin more attractive. It was a stupid thought nevertheless, and he knew that he had to keep to his training regimen, not think about silly things like crushes.
He decided that he would take a trip to a new place, Soudul, and try his luck at battling a Ysali dragon. His grandmother taught him what he knew about Aedaun Magic and his uncle Karst (and he innately) taught himself how to use his Peisio Magic. So he was well equipped. He grabbed his scepter, which he knew he had to hide as he walked through Astral City, wrapped it up, and left a note for his grandfather explaining that he'd be home for dinner.
The trek to Soudul was a long one, but finally, he made it to the dark lands. The grass was black, the trees were dark, nothing about Soudul made him want to stay there. But he needed to find out and do his own bit of research on the Ysali dragons that lived there.
He walked and walked, up little hills, through tree after tree, he even found a lake. Were Ysali dragons rarer on Soudul? He had seen a dragon most every time he went out to play scurrying through the woods back on Serenia.
Maybe they were all hibernating? Hah, dragons didn't hibernate...did they? The thought confused him a bit, but he was brought back to reality by a quick, stinging pain. He quickly looked down at his leg, which was sliced by a very sharp leaf. "OW! THAT HURT!" he cried, taking his pouch of water and quickly healing his wound. He glanced around, not a soul seemed to be near him. Obviously there was a dragon in his midst, but he couldn't find it!
Suddenly, he heard a noise of a cracking twig behind him. He whipped around, water from the pouch flowing out of it in a whip-like display. With a flick of his wrist, the water went from his side, and spun over like a whip towards the noise in the darkness of the trees. He didn't know what he was aiming at, but he sure as hell hoped-- AHA! A yelp!
The dragon cried out in pain of being hit with the whip. Suddenly, a few vines around him began to sprout. He jumped out of the way and quickly took a bit more water from his pouch, expanding it and then shooting it off like a gun towards the beast. He heard a thud and began to see light streaking in the distance. Had he finished it?
Damian went to take a look at the damage he had caused, and by the time he realized it, the dragon was slowly falling to pieces before him, only to leave a small orb and a pile of bones in it's place.
He had done it! The dragon was dead and he had finished it off! His first hunt was a grand success! He sat next to the bones for a few moments, taking some time to think about this moment. Wow, he was done. A smile was brought to his face and he looked out over the darkness of Soudul and realized, it wasn't so bad at all.
