Man it felt good to be out of that stuffy class... not that she'd been even paying attention, but... Verusha wasn't a big fan of being cooped up in a little room listening to the droning voice of a teacher talk about... goodness knows what. All day the reaper had been itching to get outside, as had Cannon... though the fire dog didn't show such desires. His typical stoic, if not fierce, expression kept firmly in place on his uninviting features. The pair walked casually along the school grounds, headed for more natural territory. Since it wasn't too terribly cold, there was a possibility that Cannon might get a chance at hunting! the pooch was able to suffice without it by playing the usual catch, but... it really couldn't substitute for the primal act of a predator chasing its prey.
They ventured along the woods near the school, the ghoul sporting her headphones that didn't mask the muffled sound of the music she was listening to. Wearing just a simple hoodie added onto her usual attire, the hood indeed pulled up, Verusha had no problem with the chill in the air. In fact, she quite enjoyed the cold. It was crisp, sharp, and reminded her of home. Head bobbing, those stark white eyes peered around lazily for any sign of some unfortunate wild creature that might catch Cannon's eye, slowing her roll to let her trusty hound go ahead to sniff around for any possible leads. He kept his head low to the ground, nose eagerly sniffing, his gait fluid and brisk as his flames licked off of his body at a lower level. He wanted to keep himself more elusive, kicking into that natural predatory mode. However... he picked up on mostly student's scents, old and fresh, which earned a soft snort of displeasure from time to time from the familiar.

Xavier was, as usual, contemplating the mysteries of the world.
Like how he had managed to get his foot stuck in a root, trip, and send all of his books flying across the grounds, where they landed majestically in a puddle of mud.
Now he was walking along the edge of the forest attempting (and failing) to clean off the pages. It wasn't really working - the rather unappealing brown stains were soaked into the books, and Xavier held one up, dangling it from his fingers as he mourned the loss of his materials.
Figures.
What also figured was what happened next - namely Xavier, lost in his own thoughts, slamming into a figure that he hadn't seen before and promptly bouncing backwards and landing very ungracefully on his backside on the ground.

kuroopu ohman, I never got the alert for this tag. gaia whyyy. Her head gave a slow bobbing side to side to the rhythm of the current song, fingers tapping inside the pockets there stuffed into. She was even prepared to start humming as the first verse came up.
That is... until she received a sudden impact to her back, causing her to gasp, and stumble forward. Arms jutted out quickly to break her fall, but the force had knocked her headphones off, and the music was less muffled now without her head in the way. Instantly, Cannon sprang forth from the forest, snarling and taking a defensive stance in front of Verusha, growling threateningly at the boil who'd knocked the ghoul down. His flames were high now, whipping about angrily, lips peeled back far to reveal his sharp canines.
Gaining her bearings, Verusha pushed up to sit on her folded legs, "Man what was that.." she mumbled, slowly looking behind her to see... a boil? Raising a brow, she peered around the enraged Cannon to see the sorry sight, smirking slightly, "You alright there, guy?" she asked the other, moving to crawl over towards him, picking up a few books and papers on the way.
