Molan had given his brother one last annoyed look before going to the... blanket he was directed to by the rather brightly colored, chipper lady in charge. Right. He'd just... get this fifteen minutes of his life over with as painlessly as possible. A low sigh escaped him as his tail flicked several times, agitated with the whole situation as he moved to seat himself slowly. Whoever he'd been paired with wasn't there yet, and that was fine. He could spend the next bit of time dealing with bad music as it was. It didn't get much more cheesy right? At least the lake wasn't too bad for a view, if you overlooked the pink candles, failed attempt at romance, and... he noticed a peace of paper at the bottom of the plastic basket.

Ignoring the actual items inside, he dug out one of the cards, going still as he stared at it, ears flicking back. This was worse than some of the stuff his brother came up with, and that was just plain bad to begin with. Something about her eyes being endless depths of decay he would happily be lost in forever. Any ghoul that fell for that needed to have her head checked. Then again, it was probably meant for an undead, and they usually did have a few rot problems going on. So maybe they really did need their heads checked. Still, he dug for another, raising a brow at it.

Oh. Now that. That was just dirty. Who would say that in public?

Seiana_ZI
Hi. Apparently you get a grump. He didn't want to do this. Good luck. And yes he is bored and looking at the flash cards. He'd never use one though.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 16, 2013 6:36 am

She had seen Etzer there, and was rather thankful that she did not get paired with him.

Who did she get herself paired with, though? That was another story entirely. Serafina was cautious, brushing herself off and straightening out her shirt before she even dared to start to walk over to where she had been directed. She ran one hand through her hair and then another, hoping to Jack she didn't look totally scruffly or ridiculous or something. In speed dating, the first impression was everything, and she was determined to make a good one.

Especially since the boil she was confronted with was ... admittedly not at all bad looking. Serafina seriously didn't expect anything to come out of this, but it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing if something did, right? No, no, she needed to not be thinking like that, it would just get her into a mess. She needed to work on establishing a good connection.

It was with that thought she finally cleared her head and finished her way over to the boil and bowed her head politely as a way of greeting, before she took her seat on the rather odd blanket next to him. What was he looking at? Curiously, her eyes flicked over to the cards he was thumbing through, before her ears went a bit pink. Well.

He wasn't saying them though, so maybe he was just as curious as she was.

Hm.

"Happy Scarentine's," offered Serafina, offering her hand along with. "I'm Serafina Arai. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Raja
It's okay. Serafina's determination to make a good impression on everyone might ease this for him. Maybe.

Molan had time to flick through another card or two before he realized people were starting to filter in various directions to sit down and... talk. Flirt. Whatever it was they intended to do. He didn't see anyone at his blanket yet, so he flicked another card in to look at. Another really... dirty one. Wow, how many of these were in here? He was too busy contemplating just who thought these were a good idea to realize that a ghoul had emerged from the masses nearby and sidled up near him, peeking at the card.

And her ears turned a rather interesting shade at the sight of the card. Which he shifted out of sight for another one as soon as he realized it. Well that was a bit of an awkward way to start up a conversation. "They were in the basket." He quickly stated, realizing it was a bit of an excuse, but he really hadn't brought something like THAT with him. He wasn't as cheesy as his brother after all. He then chose to shove the cards back into the basket they'd come from, offering a sheepish smile to the ghoul. So apparently this dark haired young lady was the one sent to speak with him. Well she was pretty, but he apparently attracted dead things. First Olivia on the field trip and now...

Well no, not really. But it felt that way a bit. Still, she seemed nice enough. She hadn't said anything rude about the cards, a plus for her. He sat up a bit straighter, attempting to look as composed as anyone just caught looking at terrible pickup lines and a few raunchier ones could as she introduced herself. She'd also offered her hand, which he took and shook as it was purely polite to do so. "Ah yes, a Happy Scarentine's to you too." Saying that felt a rehearsed... hollow really. But she did add in her name, which made it feel a little less like something any bobble head doll could manage. "A pleaseure yes. My name is Molan Threepwood." He replied, figuring he could at least try to be polite. Seeing as he'd agreed to this he should at least do his best not to be... rude.

"This... is a bit silly, isn't it?" He added after a moment, shifting a bit uncomfortably on the blanket. Honestly, he had no idea what to do. This was all Etzer's fault, seeing as he'd drug him along for this 'brilliant' idea.

Seiana_ZI
You have no idea the amusement I have that she apparently knows Etzer. Meet Etzer's more polite older brother /shot This will make things... speshul if she knows his last name. Also I am at work so I apologize if I take a little bit to reply. I'm online, and slooowly working on them. <3
PostPosted: Sat Feb 16, 2013 9:34 am

Molan Threpwood... The first name would not be the hardest to remember, and she could certainly pair the name with the face, though the last name Threpwood was a bit ... odd. Still, odd was a good thing. It would make the name stand out to her, and she would know that stand-out face belonged to the ... horned kitsune? Was that what he was? For a moment, her eyes flicked over to his tail, before she looked back up to his face. Hm...

"It's okay," she mentioned, swatting at the cards he noticed, deciding to address his comment. It didn't matter if he was looking at them. She probably would have gone for the strange sheets of paper in the bottom of the basket, too. Admittedly, she was a bit ... curious as to what the others said, but she would leave that for another time.

This ... is a bit silly, isn't it?

Well, Serafina couldn't think of a way to argue that. As if looking for some way to confirm this, she looked around her, glancing at all the strange blankets in the vicinity, the music that was still pouring from where they came from, the corny appearance of the nearby lake. It appeared as if the Trick-or-Treater behind this was almost trying a little too hard to make a romantic environment.

Serafina chuckled softly. "Definitely. If this is how humans celebrate their Scarentine's, not sure if I want any part of it." Not that she thought Scaretine's was really the best holiday on the calendar. It was a day about first impressions and good ones and chocolate, but most of all it was a day about romance and that was something she had exactly none of.

Ah well.

"So why did you sign up?"

Raja
I don't think she recalls the last name from that class. This is probably a good thing. >> She knows him as that man who wouldn't stop calling her "Dear." XDD And slowness is fine ... I'm always slow haha

He offered an appreciative look at forgiving the cards as he really didn't want to give that impression. It didn't matter, this was sort of silly and likely they might not meet again after this. But he didn't want to be seen as... well as bad as his brother for the next bit of time. That would have been a terrible first impression really. One he'd rather not spend a good five or more minutes trying to dispel the thought. Though at least the ghoul seemed rather reasonable, perhaps it wouldn't be that bad. Maybe.

She'd sort of glanced him over, and he'd done the same to a degree. Dark hair, a bit pale as most ghosts where, and one rather large hand? Kind of an interesting look, with a more modern sense of style. She might get along with his brother really. Perhaps enjoying a similar sense of fashion. In truth the ghoul wasn't too bad on the eyes and perhaps he was lucky for that. She was reasonable and kind of cute. Not that he judged much by it, but it was a plus.

His comment was met with a agreement as they were serenaded by the silly music in the background. It seemed others were having... fun? It was hard to tell at a glance, but he figured they were having a more meaningful conversation than theirs. Then again, what did you talk to a stranger about? The weather? Or... the ridiculous situation you'd been placed in. Because Desu's opinion of romantic was... not the most suitable for the rest of the world. Then again, it was probably to be blamed on humans. Seeing as this was meant to be similar to their tradition? He idly flicked a wilted petal away from him as a breeze stirred it a bit closer as she spoke up again. "Hmmm, they do... have unique taste." He replied, cocking his head to one side.

Unique wasn't the word.

"It's a bit much I would think?" They seemed to go over the top to try and force things, rather than letting it be natural. Why be in such a rush to get this or that? That just wouldn't end well. Forcing romance was asking for trouble. He shook his head and then peered at her curiously at the question before glancing to one side, sort of searching for the 'source' of his woes in the crowd as he replied. "My younger brother thought it would be a fabulous idea and drug me here." He replied, briefly stopping as he spotted his brother with what appeared to be another ghost of some sort. Then looking back to the ghoul after a moment. "And you?"

It was only fair she explained her reasoning to take part, right?

Seiana_ZI
Oh thank you for understanding. @w@ I work today and tomorrow, but I'm phone support. I sit at a computer and talk to people so... I tend to be able to reply. Forgive any weird typos and such since I am multi-tasking like a boss. XD Well with a question like that though... she's going to find out anyway. /shot HE'S A LOT BETTER BEHAVED I SWEAR... actually he'll probably apologize for his brother. It's always been Molan's job to keep Etzer in line. Pfff~ He's the 'good kid.'
PostPosted: Sat Feb 16, 2013 11:14 am

Admittedly, Serafina was of a similar opinion. Sure, would she mind if something happened? Of course not. But if it was something caused by being forced and shoved together, it would end in disaster, and Serafina's job wasn't exactly to cause herself disaster. Her gossiping might have caused other people trouble, but that wasn't necessarily her concern so long as she climbed the social ladder... right? Now that she thought of it that way, it made her goal sound rather silly.

Hm, maybe she had learned a bit these past few months.

She tapped her fingers against her leg, listening to Molan as he suggested that they had unique taste. Softly, Serafina snorted. Yeah, that was certainly a word for it. It was definitely unique to try something so overboard, but she wasn't really certain as to why someone would want to try something so overboard. It wasn't really appealing to her. She liked being fashionable, and usually that did not require one be outright gaudy.

His second description seemed much more apt, and she nodded in agreement, mouth tilting a bit upwards underneath the surgical mask she refused to remove. Admittedly, this situation was giving them something to talk about, at least. This man seemed rather polite, if not a bit understated. She didn't mind that, though the bells would hint at the contrary.

His younger brother? Who was that? Serafina tilted her head before she nodded, deciding that perhaps it was best not to ask for the moment. "Your brother sounds like an ... interesting character." If that was the word for it, she didn't know, but who would think it was a fabulous idea to participate in the gaudy? ... Of course, she was one to talk, wasn't she? "Ah, I figured it would give me a chance to get to know some fellow students a bit better. I've been here for months and know a shameful amount." Honesty couldn't hurt, right? "If I make a new connection out of it, is a plus, right?"

Raja
XD It's okay! Multitasking is awesome but it's also multitasking. x3 Hahaha if she finds out she might compare the two and have a good laugh. x3

Well, something... happening was probably the least of her concerns. Molan was about as modest as they came, typically preferring to keep his hands to himself, and for others to do the same. It wasn't that he hated physical contact, but he didn't appreciate it from people he didn't know. And that included anyone he hadn't known more than a few days. Thus, Serafina fell into that. While he intended to be polite to a degree, she was just a sort of person caught up in this full mess. Though he might have flinched if he'd known she liked to gossip. Gossip and politicians... well it didn't mix. Seeing as his father was one, he sort of cringed by default hearing it.

It was just problematic.

He had to agree, things were rather gaudy. Overdone. ...glaringly brightly colored. He normally didn't mind such things, but it seemed like his eyes were going to get tired of it before long. Humans had a high tolerance for such things apparently. He flicked an ear as she made a noise apparently amused with his choice of statements. He was a bit old fashioned himself, so perhaps he thought it worse than most. It wasn't so much that he disliked the newer things, as they didn't suit him. Which lead to further oddities like this sitting worse with him in the long run. But... he was still stuck here.

For a while.

Getting down to it, he actually realized it was a bit hard to read the girl. Her mask hid her mouth, which left only her eyes to be read. Molan didn't exactly intend to stare at someones eyes for fifteen minutes either. Thus he was left guessing a bit, but at least her nodding did help to add to things. As for himself, his facial features didn't change too much. Not particularly stoic, but also not the most expressive. He was also somewhat careful to move smoothly, so he didn't make too much noise. While he enjoyed it, most got tired of it. It was a trained habit of sorts to avoid jumping around or jerky movements. Thus he merely watched her silent reply and idly toyed with the blanket with one hand.

Right. Awkward silences. Those were... good? Well bad. But he didn't have to talk, so good as well.

And then the topic of his brother. His expression did shift to something a bit tired at that as he slowly shook his head. No. No he brother was not interesting. He was a terror. "He's troublesome. To say the least." He replied once more shifting his gaze briefly in the direction of his brother before stopping halfway. He'd gripe at him later about this. He couldn't take out the fact his brother was unreasonable on a ghoul who... apparently was here to try and make friends. "I see... well." He tilted his head to one side, wondering if it was proper to apologize. After all, she'd gotten about the worst person to try and accomplish that goal with. "I apologize for my shortcomings?" He knew full well he wasn't the best to try and converse with. He just... wasn't a people demon. Far from it really.

Seiana_ZI
Indeed~ I'm not perfect sadly. ;A; Wee 4 hours into my work day. >w> o/ Nearly lunch time.

Ohhhh thanks for letting me know. I'll keep that in mind. I glanced at her journal for a few seconds last night to see who I was with as I was making this thread. XD Since I didn't recognize the name. Bear with me, I can't open photobucket images at work so I'm also going by memory. /shot

BTW quick irony at her social ladder. neutral Meet rich demon kid from a high end family. Social ladder says hello. >w>

Serafina was definitely a hard one to read, and so, when she was trying to be friendly, she discovered that she had to try a bit harder than most people. Her most obvious expressiveness was in her eyes, raised eyebrows, narrowed eyes, a bit of a mischievous twinkle, but with no mouth or nose or anything else to really fully work with, it was very hard to tell what expression she was really making. Eyes were the window to the soul and such, but certainly, having a smile or a smirk to accompany would help.

So she bowed her head to show greeting and respect, gestured a lot when she was excited, attempted to keep her gestures down when she was not. It was hard to make up for the absence of her mouth, but then, Serafina didn't want to show the horrible opening on the other side of the mask. Besides, even if she took it off...

Her mouth was so mangled that she didn't think she could make a proper expression with it anyway.

This was certainly a tad awkward, but it wasn't the worst situation she had ever found herself in. First meeting someone new was admittedly an awkward thing for a lot of people, and considering that Molan seemed to be a bit quiet, meeting new people was probably very awkward for him. But that was okay! She was outgoing, and she wanted to make a connection here. He seemed rather polite, and something about him just seemed ... nice, and she liked niceness.

As possessive and gossipy and everything that she could be herself, she was most drawn to people who were genuinely polite, friendly, honest, something of the sort, and he seemed to have... some of those traits.

"It's alright," offered Serafina, with a chuckle. "I think I can talk enough for the both of us." She leaned over, opening up the basket and pulling a few things out of it, including those cards again. Perhaps it was just so she could lay everything they had out in front of them. "Troublesome brothers sound unfortunate, but at least you're away from him for a little while, right? If he convinced you to sign up, maybe he's distracted himself."

She plucked up what looked like a ... sandwich? She wondered what flavors humans possibly thought were a good idea. Where was the chocolate?

"I don't have a family. Maybe that makes me fortunate?"

Raja
I admit, I go insane at my job and go grab lunch about ... three hours in. XDD

No problem! x3 Considering she has no other art I can see why it'd be confusing. >>

Molan merely took to stealing a look here and there, so as not to stare. He wasn't much for looking at people he was directly talking to for long periods of time anyway, but for now he'd deal with it. Because he truly had no other choice with the situation as was. He figured the mask was for a reason, and besides. She hadn't asked about his attire, he'd drop her the same courtesy. All was fair in love and... really odd speed dating. That didn't even make much sense in his head, but no one else had to hear it anyway so that issue got shoved under the rug.

Molan's ears were more the trick with him, a flick here or there usually showing his feelings. He was good at keeping his face neutral when he wanted to, but his ears were another story. Even when he wanted no one to know what was on his mind that often betrayed him and dropped more than a few hints. That and his tail, which was usually casually flicking here and there, but would suddenly shift more than usual at times. So really, if you knew how to read him he was probably an open book. His family knew his moods well, the rest of the world... not so much. Which was likely why he had such a hard time with them. Oh well, too late to change much at a quick pace.

And yes, his somewhat quiet nature did get in the way of a lot of things. He wasn't always entirely sure what to talk to people about. Besides the weather and the fact that the lake wasn't nearly as enchanting as it had been long ago he wasn't sure. Likely his hobbies would seem boring, but he didn't particularly want to get drug off for one of someone else's. Who knew what he'd be signing himself up for if he did that. Mind you, hearing about them was just fine. Actually he loved to hear about what other people did with their time, it gave him things to think over and consider. Still, it was true the girl seemed happy to make up for his quiet nature, rather cheerful and perky in comparison to his shorter replies.

Actually it was almost pleasant. Really, maybe his brother was... slightly right. Just a little. He figured it could have been worse at least.

He offered her a nod accompanied with a small laugh as well at her words. "Perhaps." He lightly pushed the basket toward her as she took and interest in it, not too concerned about any chocolates or whatnot. He'd actually eaten a light snack before leaving, so he wasn't too hungry. After all, he hadn't been INTENDING to leave at all. "There's nothing too interesting." Aside from dirty cards. But that wasn't that interesting.

Though then she piped in about his brother again and earned a small shrugs. "It is... good and bad. Father asked me to keep an eye on Etzer to keep him out of trouble... so... who knows what's happening right now." He replied slowly, not realizing that perhaps he'd just caused himself a whole mountain of trouble. "Still, having family isn't so bad, we get along in our own ways?" He added slowly, tilting his head to one side. Ah yes, he had no idea whatsoever that he might have just said the worst name possible for conversing with Serafina.

Well too late. The ghoul had already heard it.

Seiana_ZI
XD I tend to do what I'm supposed to since I work 10 hour days. So I eat 4 hours in and spread my breaks out. >w>

S'good to know. He's fairly chill as long as people aren't... on fire. But yea. XD

Oh when she finds out. Eldest son of a rich politician demon. And the 'good child' of the two. Etzer is, infact the problem child. XD Problem is he does like his brother. /shot
PostPosted: Sat Feb 16, 2013 2:01 pm

Besides for those dumb sandwiches, she managed to find something to drink. Of course, she didn't like drinkable things. It was one thing for her to shove a piece of food under her mask, but it was completely another to attempt drinking things while keeping the mask over her mouth. She passed over the drinkable things, putting them back into the basket to get them out of the way, before plucking up the sandwich.

She broke off a tiny piece and shoved it underneath her mask, taking the small bite. It seemed the girl was very determined to keep her face from being fully seen, but Molan was right, she had a reason for it. Just as he probably had a reason for all of those noisy bells he kept on him. For all the things for such a quiet boil to like, why would he go for bells?

"There doesn't seem to be much in here, and the ... bread with meat is a bit dull," she remarked, flipping it over, not daring to call it a sandwich. What was that weird wet red stuff on the bread? Why was that necessary?

There had to be chocolate in here somewhere--

Wait. Etzer?

At the naming of his brother, Serafina's eyes widened a bit, an obvious expression of surprise on her face. Perhaps she had ... already met his brother. She let him finish, of course, not interrupting his statement and rather curious as to what this boil had to say. That made it obvious he was definitely the more behaved of the two boils, especially as his father had sent him to keep an eye on the other one, but still, his brother was Etzer? He seemed to think he could get into trouble, though. There was no reason to take it out on this poor boil.

"Ah, Etzer. My first impression of him was that he was a bit, ah," ...what was the word for it... she needed to step carefully here. He was there to watch over him but he also said they got along in their own ways. She needed to keep her dislike of him out of this, right? "...Rash," she decided, shaking her head. "I requested him stop calling me dear, so he carried on... Rather embarrassing in the middle of class."

Hopefully that professor didn't think she was acting ridiculous when she had became frustrated. She wouldn't reflect on that.

Raja
XD Sounds like a wise plan, actually.

Molan watched idly as she dug at the box, eyes idly fixed one the things. He didn't have much interest in anything. He honestly didn't feel like trying for any of the snacks, so she could have what she wanted. Though she seemed to be picky enough, what was she after? He hadn't considered it had to do anything with her mask until she started nibbling at the sandwich rather oddly. He quirked a brow, curious, but being polite enough to avoid asking as she worked at it.

It was a bit amusing she found the bells odd, to him they were perfect. They sort of let people know he was there so they didn't run into him, without actually having to say anything. Oh, and he just liked the sound. A lot. Among other things. Having them was as natural as having his tail as far as he was concerned, so never thought anything of it.

Her comment on the food merely earned a quiet 'oh?' at her comment and a quick look to the basket. "I ate before I left so, I guess that was for the best." He mused, briefly glancing in the basket and managing to find the one thing she wanted. A chocolate. He turned it over a moment before deciding he didn't like the brand and dropping it back in. Perhaps it was the spoiled brat in him, but that was really low end chocolate. Mind you, for a free event it was to be expected, but he still wasn't eating it. If it wasn't home made then it had to be something nicer for him to want sweets. It wasn't worth the trouble otherwise. "It was a nice thought."

He ignored the snacks entirely at that point glancing over as she suddenly seemed interested at the sound of his brothers name. And realization hit. Oh. No. That look. He'd done something, Molan wasn't sure what, but something. He knew the looks all too well when his brother created some form of mischief when there was no one to reel him in and tell him to knock it off. Because he did come up with some rather crazy ideas. Which sometimes involved dragging the Isukun along with, but not always.

He merely nodded at her words, shaking his head a bit. "Whatever he did... I'm sorry." He replied, rubbing his temple a bit. "He's very stubborn... and hard headed at times." He added, smiling a bit sheepishly at the ghoul as he tapped at the blanket with one finger. "I'm sure he meant... some sort of good... maybe." Flicked an ear down at that though, glancing off as he mentally made a note to talk to his brother about it later. Tsk, picking on ladies was not what he came to school for. Not in the slightest. "We'll discuss his behavior later. Father wouldn't approve of him causing trouble for anyone." Oh, and they would. He had told his father he'd try to keep Etzer in line.

Seiana_ZI
It works well enough. And thankfully dead things AREN'T. Actually Molan tends to get along with them well enough due to them being mostly cold. X3 And not minding that he's not the warmest body on the planet either.

PS: Yes. He snubbed chocolate. neutral His favourite foods are actually just homemade things because he's used to more fancy foods. He's sick of chefs stuff. Homemade has a nice touch.

Ohohoho let's have some fun with that.... XD
PostPosted: Sat Feb 16, 2013 5:27 pm

Was it a nice thought? She wasn't sure this human-esque food was the right thought, but at least it didn't taste like terrible sand. She caught Molan's eyes and followed them to the chocolate he didn't take for himself, but she was perfectly happy to take some of his snubbed low-end chocolate and break a piece off for herself. Honestly, she had no real ... preference for the quality of her food so long as it tasted good, and an uncultured palate like hers really couldn't tell the difference between low-end and high-end chocolate.

After all, she was no rich demon. Hell, she didn't even really have other people to support her. Perhaps that was one of the reasons why going to Amityville was a good idea, even if the only thing she was thinking about was making connections and getting popular and rising to the top of the social ladder. She, of course, didn't quite realize she was making a connection right now that would assist with that.

What she was seeing was someone who seemed rather easy to get along with, despite the awkwardness he seemed to hint he was rather capable of. Quiet, but he was speaking plenty to her.

"Yes, hard-headed is a good word for it. No matter how many times I told him to knock it off, he didn't. If he was doing it to make me irritated, though, he definitely succeeded. I shouldn't've lost my cool like that." Serafina rubbed at the back of her neck, an awkward twitch at the side of her face. She hadn't exactly snapped or anything, but she had certainly let the younger boil get to her, and she shouldn't have let it affect her.

Hopefully Professor Elk hadn't thought less of her for it. He seemed to know a lot, and she was always curious.

"But that isn't really important. Thank you for talking to him about it, though." She would have offered a smile if she was capable. Instead, it only reached her eyes. "I suppose we aren't here to talk about him, though. What kind of family are you from?" With a pause, Serafina laughed softly. "Forgive my curiosity, I'm so used to going it alone that someone who has been surrounded by people all their life makes me curious."

Raja
Hehe. XD Serafina isn't necessarily against warmth and actually is rather okay with it, but she's a rather literal ghoul. I wouldn't call her warm... XD

Serafina loves chocolate and is surprised someone would snub it. u u She also respects homemade food, though ... provided it's tasty homemade.

Yes, he thought it was. They'd tried. A gold star for effort in trying to make it almost seem authentic, even if he had little interest in it. He watched idly as she seemed to happily make off with the chocolate he'd turned down, internally cringing a bit. That. Stuff. Was. Awful. It tasted closer to a sweet chalk in his opinion. Well, to each their own. She might have caught both of his ears falling as the thought of chalk crossed his mind and he backed off a bit before shaking his head. Yes, she'd been judged a bit. Just that she didn't know the finer things in life.

That just meant educating people on what was worth eating.

It was a bit sad she didn't realize. But then again, Molan didn't go around screaming about who his father was and what he did. Not unless people asked. Some might recognize him since, well, he was the eldest son and thus sometimes seen at events. So was Etzer. He was just the better behaved one, so more likely to be taken as the child to 'show off.' He was socially awkward, but he knew how to flatter a few people with a few empty words and smile when cues were dropped. He'd mastered the art of being shown off as a smart young boy with a promising future. Oh he'll go to Amityville soon and end up a real demon to be proud of. And once again, father was right. Here he was.

Was this something to be proud of though?

He didn't really mind the thought, their father did love them. About as much as anyone who had a bit of a marriage to his work could. He was busy, but he tried. Molan granted the man that much.

He was pulled from his thoughts as she chirped up again, smiling a bit as he could just see his brother doing that. Ridiculous. He'd have to go on a bit about not driving people up the wall. Wasn't that a habit reserved for him anyway? "He won't do it again." He replied after the words of thanks. At least he hoped. Etzer sometimes just did what he wanted despite... conversation they had.

Though then the question came up. He shrugged, thinking very little of it as he spoke. After all. This was just normal for him. "Father is a politician in the region we're from. It runs in the family, he'd like the same for my brother and I." He didn't seem to mind the question, his voice fairly flat. There was no heavy pride or anything, just fact to it. "I wouldn't say we were surrounded with people. If nothing else, father seemed to prefer we not see society as a whole." Actually, he'd grown up with mainly his brother and attendants. It was why he wasn't used to people outside of social gatherings. Probably not the wisest choice any parent could make.

Hohoho~ And she asked. BTW srsly don't worry. Etzer will regret it later. Molan's one of the few people who can successfully browbeat Etzer down. Mainly because Etzer doesn't like when his brother is cross with him. And who else can blackmail him properly?

Molan likes chocolate, just good ones. She'd probably be in heaven if she went shopping for it with him. 'No... no that's bad. This one.' 'That costs a whole day of meals for me.' '...it's a snack.' He isn't bad about it, but he's spoiled. He mostly wears custom made clothes from higher end demon families who specialize in it, and well. neutral His family may come with issues but they have it made. He's the good kid cause they father was pretty strict with him growing up.

As much as Serafina had been a politician in another world, she did not yet pay that much attention to politics in this world, finding it to be something that she was too inexperienced to be able to navigate properly. Just like everything else, she needed to climb the ladder, talk to others, understand their opinions and use their opinions to get other truthful opinions out of others, something of an information exchange really... And Serafina liked exchanging information. She almost fed on it with how much she liked getting it and spreading it.

Even if it was false.

Admittedly, it wasn't on the top of her list to encounter Etzer again. It might have been inevitable with how much of a nuisance he had made himself the first time, but if they did meet up again, well. Hopefully he wouldn't be repeating the incident, in any case. If Molan was able to scold him for being such a nuisance, she'd have to keep that in mind, especially if she happened to have a run-in with the irritant again.

"Glad to hear it," she offered, with a smile that twitched under her mask.

... Politician?

That meant Molan was ... important, right?

... Man, she had hit the jackpot.

Serafina straightened herself out a bit, attempting to look a bit more ... formal than she had before, but her tone was still relaxed, and overall, she didn't change her mannerisms. That being said, she was doing her best to not look small, or insignificant in some way. She was nowhere near as important as this ... demon? was, but she could certainly work at becoming as such, hm? Time to impress. Though he wasn't at all surrounded by people? That was a bit ... surprising. Did that mean she would need to try a bit harder to become part of his circle?

She was thinking too hard and she definitely wasn't talking. Usually she babbled when she was nervous. At least she had stopped that habit ... verbally. "Politician? I'm surprised to hear you weren't surrounded by people, then." There was a small laugh afterwards. "But there can be an awful lot of ... sniping in politics, ne? Perhaps that is why he wanted to keep you guys out of it."

It was a thought, at least.

"I wish I could say I was from something nearly as important." She laughed.

She did! Serafina's a nosy bugger. Note how she has managed not to talk much about herself though >> And she would be floored by the fancy chocolate but in the end, likely wouldn't question it. Someone helping her get fancy things? Hello >>

Ahaha she will be so pleased. x3 Hopefully she doesn't gloat hahaha

Molan actually had a good grasp of the political world, how it worked, and the inner circles. He wasn't entirely pleased with his understanding, but he got it. It clicked. How to behave, how to get along in those parties, and how to stare someone down with the most blank expression when you utterly wanted to call their bluff. Because sometimes it was just that ridiculous. He usually didn't take that mindset to things, which was probably good, but he knew how to do it. His father would likely have been thrilled if he suddenly announced he wanted to follow in his footsteps.

But he didn't care for any of it. Which was why the whole matter just made him sigh. Growing up with your only social contact being a bunch of politicians and their family taught you things, but it also ruined other things so. Well, he didn't see it as all that great.

Which was why the look he got after he'd spoken up about his family wasn't the one he was really hoping for. It was one he'd seen before, and a small sigh did escape him. The straightening, all of it. He'd seen it in a few people and, well... he didn't really appreciate it. He merely gave her something of a sad look, ears drooping as if maybe she'd hurt his feelings. He really, truly, didn't want to be seen for his family name. That's what their father was doing a bit, and he was a bit tired of it. "I'm fairly new and... well don't talk about it much." He stared at the ghoul a moment longer, shifting a bit to sit up straight again. The damage was done, he couldn't do much about it. "I believe... it was simply so we had less chances to make mistakes. Until we knew better." He replied, starring off a bit. Obviously, her show of trying to look the part of a higher end lady wasn't impressing him much.

He sort of preferred the relaxed feel. He hadn't come to school to end up at another social party. Throwing pointless compliments to save face and fake smiles everywhere. Honestly, he could do without all of it. "You do know. I've been around enough politicians to know when someone is trying to look a part." He added, glancing at her. Just a hint. He wasn't angry, but she should just be herself. It would be annoying if she tried to actually pretend to do that. Because he'd be stuck with her a while longer until he could hide in his room again.

Well at least she knew why he didn't have a circle of people. He honestly didn't want one. Ever. Too much noise anyway.

He wouldn't mind spoiling people a bit. So long as they act normal. neutral I think he actually hates having to play the part. I just... he doesn't hate what his dad does, nor his dad. He hates the baggage that comes with. Because he likes being blunt and can't be.

And yes. BE NORMALS. neutral He's like 'Stahp. Plz.'
