After directing Stormy off of the training grounds and to Ami's house (it wasn't as easy as it sounded, really), Madeline finally found her way to the decrepit front doorstep, peering up at the shabby building with something akin to amusement mingled with obvious pain. "I don't know if she's going to answer the door." She muttered to Stormy, and then, with obvious exertion, lifted her hand and banged three times on the door.
"Ami!" She called out in her best damsel-in-distress voice, which wasn't really the best considering she was still bishounen. "Ami, I kind of got my a** kicked today and I think I'm dying, but there was mud and I still don't have my boobs back which makes everything ten times worse and I think I'm going to pass out soon - did you know that - "
This went on for a solid minute before Madeline's knees gave out and she fell face first into the door despite Stormy's help.
"Oof." She muttered. "Leave me here to die."Ol-j-man s2g i am so bad at intro posts

Was this what all the buildings looked like? Yikes . . . Maybe it was the dragon's doing. She hoped Gale didn't force himself to live in a ramshackle building, now that she thought about it . . . Wait no, mind in the now, mind in the now. "The now" being Madeline's eventual collapse despite her best efforts to keep her up; stupid noodle man arms.
"That'd be very mean of me," Stormy replied solemnly, trying to gently pull her at least so that her face wasn't plastered on the steps. "I want to make friends. Friends don't let friends flop on the ground alone." But even as she said this, she still carried the flush of pride from her victory, because she felt those were going to be few and far between - Mads would probably beat her up easy once they were girls again.
"Or die alone, not cool," she added with a pat on the shoulder, then stifled a rather girlish giggle. "Could you imagine though? Dying from a fart?"
Thane didn't appreciate the defacement of his beautiful attack, but chose to instead brood within her mind as he always did, lingering pride like miasma still layered in his soft growls.keiifuu this didn' ttake a bit nope

Ami was having a very calm morning, as she'd decided to take night shifts. She'd found more and more that taking night shifts was just easier for her. Insomnia kept her up anyways, and if she worked past about nine Marcus or Lex came and snagged her from her workspace anyways. This way, she had a legitimate excuse, and they couldn't do a single thing. It was a nice equilibrium.
So there she was, reading on her couch in her living room, trying to see past the meaty man hands that now turned the pages of her book. She was still unsettled by it, but to her surprise it'd been revealed that every girl was a man. She didn't feel so bad since everyone was turned- she'd relaxed into at least going out to work or to get food.
A scuffle on her porch alerted her that someone was there. She couldn't see as there were curtains over all of her windows, but she could definitely hear them.
She got up to answer the door, but the closer she got the more it sounded like Madeline's hideous man voice. Oh god. God no. Not again. She was not doing this again.
The door opened quickly and without warning. No person emerged. Instead, Ami chucked a paper ball out, and then quickly shut the door once more. If they bothered to open the paper, they'd see that it said, "No. Go away."

"I'm glad to know you are not a very mean person then." Madeline replied just as solemnly. She grumbled against the door when she heard scuffling inside. It was just as likely that Ami would let her in as a polar bear would sit her down for lunch, and she was beginning to think that this trip was going to get very loud very soon. "Well congratulations, you are now my friend and have every right to drop me to the ground."
Madeline grunted, and Arsen laughed wolfishly in her head. "I would honestly not like to have that written on my grave stone."
When the door opened, Madeline screamed (she was leaning on it, Ami, you dumb s**t), and flailed to catch the note that was tossed out before it slammed shut again. Not even bothering to read it, Madeline raised her first and banged on the door again.
"AMI!" She yelled. "OPEN UP I SWEAR TO GOD I CAME ALL THE WAY OUT HERE TO GET PATCHED UP AND I'M NOT LEAVING. I WILL DIE ON YOUR DOORSTEP IF I HAVE TO. DECAY AND ROT AND DO YOU KNOW HOW FAST A HUMAN BODY GOES FROM FRESH TO LEAKING FLUID ALL OVER THE GROUND?"
And then, because yelling was getting hard and Madeline's vision was definitely not supposed to be doing that, the girl stopped and promptly fell backwards, temporarily knocked out.
It was up to you to get the door open now, Stormy.
If you can't do it, no one can.
Except maybe Ami.

But . . . But did friends drop friends on the ground . . . ?
Or scream at each other . . . ?
Or toss notes at friends' faces . . . ?
Oh God now Madeline was passed out and the door was kinda locked and that Ami chick sounds mad and meeeeeeep. The trainee fiddled with her fingers a bit, tennisballing her eyes between the fallen Hunter and the door nervously before she stepped up to the threshold. She thought about knocking, but after Madeline's banging she wondered how effective that would be . . . No, Stormy had a better idea. Maybe. Sorta.
Look, it was an impulse involving Disney, and she could rarely stop herself once that got involved. And who knew, maybe it'd get a better reception than knocking!
Nevertheless, the trainee politely rapped her knuckles three times against the door, cleared her throat, sifted through her memories and collective underground of trivia, and found what she was looking for in the cabinet labled The Hunchback of Notre Dame. And then, rearranging a few things, she began after a breath:
I don't know if you can hear me Or if you're even there I don't know if you would listen To a trainee's prayer Yes, I know I'm just a newbie I shouldn't bother you Still I see your note and wonder Why won't you let Miss Mads through?
She could and would keep going if not stopped.keiifuu let's pretend this didn't take forever chimarii and school didn't kick my a** OTL

No, shut the ******** up. I'll fix her, but you are not. ********. Singing." Ami bent down to pick up Madeline's crumpled form, swinging the near-corpse over her shoulder with no care at all. Had the body maybe been Lex's or Tori's she might have been more gentle, but Madeline? Tough titties.
"Clear the living room table off for me, we're going to need a workspace. Then go into the kitchen and get the first aid kit," Ami instructed, gesturing to each area as she spoke. "I don't think I need to remind you that Madeline is in pretty bad shape, so ******** hurry."

Yes! Her not-so-manly tenor made the door go open sesami! She smiled gratefully up at the angry hunter and bobbed her head quickly, though with a wince at how Madeline was handled. Friends, huh? But fair enough, no more singing - not like she knew how to make the next set of lyrics work anyway.
Scampering at Ami's heels like an energetic pup, she shut the door behind her and got to work. The trainee began swiping items off her table and placing them on the floor or chairs surrounding, jittery under the pressure. "Thanks for doing this on short notice," she chirped as she flounced to the kitchen. "I, um, accidentally hit her too hard in a spar." First aid, first aid, first - there we go! Grabbing it, Stormy returned and set it on the edge of the table, still as stone while awaiting future instructions. Ami was a Life huner, Mads had said, so she probably didn't need more help, but darn it if she didn't want to look ready anyway.

Ami gently set Madeline down on the table, if only because setting her down roughly might damage the table. Couldn't have a broken table.
"It's not your fault. Madeline is impeccably stupid. I'm surprised you managed to get through her skin when it's so thick around the skull." Couldn't waste an opportunity to insult Madeline, nope.
She cracked open the first aid kit that Stormy had brought her, thumbing through for the bandages. "We're going to have to move her to the bathroom in a moment, just be ready. Jesus how did you burn her? Did you have a runic torch or something?" She shook her head. It wasn't important.
First things first, she needed to get the clothes off Madeline's burn. This was strictly medical. With her giant man hands it was difficult to be delicate (she had no idea how Lex did it), but somehow she managed. The worst of it was on her shoulder, resulting in Madeline's shirt being carefully peeled off her skin on that half. "Ohhh Madeline, what did you do to yourself," she mumbled, trying not to agitate it anymore than it already was. Burns were difficult- you couldn't sew them up or slap a runic bandage on it. Lucky for Madeline, these were second degree at most. Nothing more than a day or two's sleep for a hunter. It didn't make Ami happy to see it though.
There were a few cuts too, but nothing that looked serious. The worst of which was still bleeding, but upon further inspection it looked like her shield was already in the process of healing it. Still, it couldn't hurt to wash it out. Add that to the checklist. "You're a ******** mess," Ami mumbled again, using scissors in the first aid kit to make clean cuts in the fabric around Madeline's shoulder. Madeline was at least lucky that Ami had treated burns before. More severe injuries had her flailing, but this was daily stuff for a life hunter. She'd definitely still need help putting bandages on though- Ami somehow always messed that up. Maybe a call to Lex was in order?
"Alright, let's move her. I'll get her legs, you get her torso. Keep it steady and don't you dare ******** drop her." There would be hell to pay if Madeline was dropped. "We're moving her to the bathroom, it's down that way and to the right. I need to use the showerhead on her burns.." Ami figured that was as much explanation as Stormy needed.

"I wouldn't call her that," Stormy mumbled mildly. Madeline came across as bold and unafraid, qualities she admired and envied in any person. "I warned her about my charge which is sorta kinda explosive -"
< < "Sorta kinda"? > >
" - and it hit a little harder than I thought it would, like she was fine before and it was kinda . . . boom." She made a small gesture with both hands to emphasize it. The trainee quelled further babbling as she watched Ami get to work (relieved that the wounds weren't as bad as she thought, though the bleeding made her a bit nauseous), starting a little when she was addressed after a few moments.
Fear was a great motivator, and after hearing Ami talk to her friend like that, Stormy was not about to mess up and get something worse. "R-Right." Taking Madeline's torso as instructed, she helped get the hunter up with a grunt and slowly made her way down the path given to her, trying her best to keep Mads from swaying; these manly muscles were good for something!

Ami groaned with Madeline's weight as they awkwardly shuffled her to the bathroom. Why did this dumbass have to hurt herself. There was going to be bloodspots all over now, and you know who'd have to clean that up? Ami.
"Okay. Yeah, right there into the tub," Ami instructed through grunts, lowering Madeline's male physique into the shower that doubled as a battub. Once Madeline was secured, Ami reached up and grabbed the showerhead attachment, preparing water that was cold, but not too cold.
A slow, lazy blink turned into wide eyes of recognition. "Oh s**t- go grab some pain meds from that kit!" she urged, giving Stormy's arm a slight push (nothing serious).
Fun fact? Ami was a labs lifer. Not the medical wing. She did her occasional medical shift, but nothing extreme. So forgetting the pain meds wasn't unusual. Ami was actually a bit of a dunce when it came to first aid. She panicked and stressed. The basics were all there- cold water on burns, remove clothing from around the burn- but miniscule details, however important they might be, completely slipped through the cracks.
She shook her head. Now wasn't the time to worry about her mistakes. With Stormy gone, Ami began ever-so-painstakingly running cold water over Madeline's burns. How long was it supposed to be done for again? 10 minutes? 20? For good measure she ran the water over the cuts too. Better to get them clean now than to have to do it later. Hopefully Madeline would at least wake up soon so the most important things could be dealt with sooner.

She bit her lip as they lowered Madeline into the tub because noodle arms. Manly and more muscley than her normal ones, but still noodley. Ami's exclamation had her jumping to her feet, though, and the trainee bounced to the kit, rummaged around with more frenzy than necessary (look, they weren't in a hospital, but being the responsible party made things feel more urgent), and nabbed the bottle of pills to pass to the other hunter.
"Should I, uh, keep her head up? Still? Or her feet propped because blood stuff?" Her knowledge of how to treat burns or unconscious people - or treat much of anything beyond common cuts really - was woefully shallow in a brain that would rather soak up trivia and Disney songs. The only time she had managed to bandage someone up was Jake that one time, but even then the runic bandages did the work for her. She was trying to look helpful though?
