Clothing: Shinigami's attire consists of black cloth wrapped around his entire body, save for his right shoulder where a tattoo lies. The black cloth is kept on his body by straps made of the hides of hell hounds, which keep the cloth tight against his form. He also has a pair of black wings, which feel extremely cold to the touch. He wears a mask over his mouth, which is used to pump an unknown gas into his system, which puts him in a calmer state of mind, keeping him in his half human form, preventing him from turning into his true demonic form, which is in turn capable of destroying buildings with ease. Think of it a sort of a suppressor for his power
Weapons: Katana of Karlifax 
Shinigami's only weapon is the Katana of Karlifax, which he forged from the deepest pit of shadows in Abrasax, an immeasurable time ago. It is carried on him, and there is a price for forging such a sword: you may not be separated from it. The sword thrives on the blackened souls of those it kills. It is connected to Shinigami, and it is impossible to separate him from the sword, because of their deep, dark connection. If indeed taken away from Shinigami, even 3 feet away from him, it simply dissolves into a cloud of shadow, reappearing strapped to his left side, or in his right hand. It has yet another special effect: It absorbs a small fraction of a person's soul whenever it touches them. It completely absorbs their soul whenever they die by the hand of this sword. He is a Master of the Katana of Karlifax, and has no equal in his skill with it.
Shinigami also has a tattoo on his right shoulder, which gives him a connection to the shadow, as well as his sword, which allows him to appear and disappear as he pleases. He may manipulate all shadow that is near him, as well as absorb the shadow for other purposes such as conjuring different creatures among many other things. He can also manipulate the shadow around him into whatever shape he so desires. He may also use this effect as a weapon, if he so desires it, giving him quite the advantage in the dark. He may even use his own shadow as a shield, and as a weapon.
Personality: Silent, and observant, does not take kindly to threats and hostility towards himself. He keeps control of himself, but he is yet very powerful, which earns him the respect of others. He likes to keep to himself and not converse often with others besides his superiors in Hell, unless necessary.
Background Information:Shinigami is ageless. He has no father or mother. He has been around in another world for countless ages, serving as the personal assistant of Lucifer. He was an angel who was cast down, along with Lucifer, from heaven, though records do not show this. Once this happened, he transformed from his angelic form into something else, something powerful, something uncontrollable by anyone except Lucifer. Lucifer then made a device for Shinigami, to suppress his powers. The device is little more than a gas mask in its appearance, yet it pumps a very unique gas into his lungs that keeps him in his controlled form.
Shinigami is what a lot of people call, The Grim Reaper, in Japan. He is Lucifer's personal assistant, carrying out the will of his dark lord accordingly as the ages passed. He is here, now in New York, carrying out classified orders on behalf of his master.
