This will be a short Tutorial involving Lace. Its really simple and I'm going to start it off on this hat of this pet here. You can do the same procedure on any thing or anywhere on the pet in the same way.

First you are going to want to take a very small fuzzy brush to make the overall outline of the lace. This is going to be the very edges and what would be in this case the woven sides on the outside. If you were doing fishnet stockings, do not do the outer portion and only do the top and bottom or just the top if you are doing TRUE stockings which would only have ruffly lace at the top.

Next you are going to make the ruffle on the top and bottom here. I'm just going to do a simple looping design but you can get as epic as you want with this. I've done some beastly ones before where they actually Ruffled with pleats and all so it can be done.

Next plot out your design. Lace patterns can be ANYTHING. I've seen practically all there is to be done with lace when studying the stuff and I assure you, no matter what you think up for your over all design, it probably exists somewhere.
Now that you know what you may do. You want to make big chunks of your design almost as if you are envisioning wallpaper on your wall without the rest of it around the central focal repetitive part of it and you are going to make that. Over.. and over... and over... AND OVER.. and over.....
As you can tell.. I went simple and made a diamond shaped pattern straight through the middle and that was it lol

Next you are going to want to make Curved lines.. YES.. CURVED you hear me they CURVE slightly in one direction.. ALL OF THEM. and depending on your pet, you may have to curve them in odd angles if you are doing this on its body because its pose may make things very difficult. This is where its exceptionally difficult with things like Fishnet stockings because you have to make sure that you follow the pet or object "In the way it is round" Meaning the lines can't go straight, they need to curve AROUND the pet as if its actually ON IT. If you don't do it right, its not gonna look a part of it, trust me. It'll be flat and blah. Envision each of them as if it were a weird necklace or something and you all know how to put necklaces on a pet right? or else I hope so x.x You make it an oval around the pets neck because the neck is "Round." If you make this on a pets leg, the leg is "Round"... Same concept.

Now you are sadly... regretfully going to make CURVED lines in exactly the same way the other direction.. I know... I know.... XDIf you were doing Fishnets, you would only be doing the curved lines and they would have to be practically at PERFECT distance between one another as well because they form like... perfect diamond shapes on the skin... go stare at some.. I kid you not.

Now that the hard part is done! For this particular kind of lace... the "Stitching" of it is "tight" or at least to me it is anyways unlike fishnet or something so then put a dot in the middle of every intersection you've made and everywhere where a line connects with your edges and design to give it the illusion its actually braided like that.

Last. Pick a slightly darker color than the color you had (unless you are using black, leave it) and add in shading to where you need it. And then you are done
