DRAGON
Name: Siriuth

Inspiration: Canis Major, one of Orion's hunting dogs. I looked about through constelations until I realized that what I would love to play was a big, doggy dog dragon. Thusly, he is written. For his physical apperance I started looking at hunting dogs themselves. My first thought was a laborador, because they're well known for not only being good family dogs but excelent hunting dogs. Looking through various breeds I found the Plott Hounds, who's physical characteristics I liked.

Origin of Name: Sirius is the brightest star in the constelation Canis Major, as well as the brightest star in the sky. While the name Sirius pertains more to the brightness of the star, I've always personally thought first of it's relations to various dogs. Perhaps because of the Mythology of it being one of Orion's hunting dogs (As Canis Major was the larger dog, and Canis minor the second) or just because of reading a lot of Harry Potter in my formative years.

Personality: This Weyr is best, obviously. This is where Siriuth's home is. This is where his person is. Siriuth doesn't love this Weyr, he is devoted to it. He has pride in his home and wants to make it better through hard work. Through his rider, Siriuth knows that there are bad things out there, though he doesn't seem to understand the specifics. He knows that there is a dark thing out there, hiding in the shadows and ready to pick off the weak. Not in his Weyr! This is his home, and he loves it and all the people inside with a furious sort of love. Nothing is going to happen to his Weyr, because he is there.

When on a task he is the proverbial dog with a bone. Siriuth will not stop until his task is completed. The dragon will push himself and persue his goal with a single-minded fury. It can be something as elaborate as searching for a person in the wilds, or as simple as just beating a time in a drill. Whichever it is, Siriuth knows when it is time to work and work hard.

However, when it is time for Play? Siriuth is all happiness and emotion and love and suddenly awkward legs and forearms. He is a social beast who sees no problem in being silly when he needs to be. Playtime is playtime and there is no time for serious then! He will ham up to near anyone who's willing to give him the time of day. Siriuth, being the social beast that he is, loves the weyrfolk and the dragons and the weyrlings and the craftsmen and the runnerbeasts and- Well, he certianly does his best to make friends.

He cannot be left alone for long. Siriuth needs the company of other dragons or his bondmate at all times. As a Weyrling he is one to cling to the other dragons that he likes or he is a hatchling that seems to be glued to part of his rider at all times. His temperment can be needy at times, and when he is upset he constantly needs reasurance from his bondmate that everything is all right. When he is left to his own devices he turns nervous and either goes into a colossal sulk or starts tearing into the things around him.

While Dragons are not known for their memories, Siriuth's seems to be expecially bad in an 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' sort of way. He can remember his duty, and he sees people and has joy in his little dragony heart when he knows that something good happened with them, but he cannot remember cruelties and is easily placiated when someone is less than kind to him. While this can be a wonderful thing when dealing with less than kind dragons, the clever ones can easily use it for their own devices. Of course they're friends, Siriuth loves everyone. And of course his friends would never do anything bad, right?

Easily excited, Siriuth is full of apparently unlimited energy. He's fresh as a daisy no matter what time of day, during his drills, during work, and even after when all his rider wants is a good long sleep. This is not a wonderful thing. He has to be pushed and kept busy or no one gets rest.

Strengths: Devoted to the Weyr, The provibial dog with a bone, Never met a stranger, Super friendly.
Weaknesses: Destructive/morose when alone, overly absent minded, Oh dear sweet Dawn Sisters the energy, Not quite as careful as a gigantic lizard beast should be.

Color: Colorist choice o3o

Body Points: Siriuth is broad chested with medium long legs and a broad chest. He is muscular but not overly so and medium sized for his color. His wings are a bit big it seems, but not overly so to impair his movement but they're large enough to make him extra awkard looking when he's silly. He has a long tail that is prone to movement and a loud, distinctive chatty roar.

Why do you feel this character will suit this dragon?:

Are you comfortable with this character being considered for a clutch dragon?: Yes

RIDER
Candidate Name: Miseti (Missy, please.)
Age: 18
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: Healercraft
Rank: Senior Apprentice

Physical Description: Small in stature and build, Missy has always been displeased about her wide bony hips and her small bust. Overall she is lanky and thin with long limbs, wide hands, and large feet. Her clothes, though not expensive, do her poor form some favors because they are always fitted well and quite clean.

Her hair is long, black, and straight; allowed to roam free when she is free from duties but pulled into a knot at the nape of her neck when not. Missy has dark brown eyes that are magnified by cracked and aged glasses. Her skin is quite pale, and when left out in the sun she burns rather than tans. Missy has a nice enough closed mouth smile, but has crooked front teeth and tends to cover her mouth when she laughs.

Personality: Polite and demure on first contact, Missy looks to be a pleasant young woman. She has considerable control of her temper and speaks carefully after great consideration. There is only one chance to make a first impression and she does her best to make sure that it's a favorable one. She seems most at home studying or working at her craft. Missy seems to have little time for other pursuits in life. She is pushed to do her best not only because of her desire to help others but because she knows a healer is always in demand. She wants to be important, she wants to change lives, and she wants to live securely.

Everything in her life has to be just so, from the placement of bandages on her table to the way she cuts her dinner. She is highly predictable and dependable creature who likes order and gets quite cross when something is thrown into her path to change that. She is the type of person who knows where all her things are at any given time, and she keeps her first aid kit conastatnly up to date with stock.

Her words can rarely be taken at face value, most of what she says is a lie. She can smoothly tell somone in pain and dying that everything will be fine, she'll hold their hands and talk them calmly into oblivion. She'll sit at a table of girls and gossip with them and tease with them and happily do the same later against those same women.

Many a candlemark have been spent on stitching her clothes to acheive the right silloute or adding just a few more strokes to her hair. Missy is a very vain creature. Though she is not a classicly lovely woman, she is always dressed nicely and has long worked on her needlework to ensure that she can edit her clothes to do her some favors. Though she can keep quite a good exterior face, teasing her about her appearance cuts her deeply.

Missy hates the outdoors. Not just because of how dirty one gets outside, but the sun is far too bright and painful in the south, the wind is never pleasant, and when one gets by the sea the salt air always dries out one's skin. Let's not talk about the animals that are out there just waiting to sink their claws and teeth into a young girl. And, of course, there's pebbles to get into your shoes, sand to get everywhere, and mud. Missy hates few things in the world more than getting dirty. At least Thread can be fought with dragon flame. There is nothing one can do to ward off getting dirty.

Strengths: Good Beside Manner, Doesn't rush into situations, Crazy organized, Driven to succeed.
Weaknesses: Dislikes the outdoors and mud expecially, a lying liar who lies, So very vain

History: Missy quips about being hatched from an egg similarly to a dragon, but one can hear rather uncultured tones in her voice after an expecially trying day.

Other/Talents:

Potential Leadership Style:
Slow and steady, Missy is the type of girl to wait for her facts to come in before she acts. She rarely makes a decision hastily, which does not make her an ideal type of person to be in power in trying times.

Political Views:
(What does she think about the current state of affairs at Monaco Bay Weyr? The rest of Pern? The Rogues? The unrest in the North?)

DRAGON
Name: Fenrith

Inspiration: Lupus, the wolf. Not exactly a bright constelation by any means, but still discernable in the sky. Pictured as being speared by Centarious, Lupus isn't exactly a happy constelation.

Origin of Name: The ammount of time that this dragon was named Noncenth as I decided on a name is pretty pathetic. Once I decided on Lupus being her inspiration I thought what sort of a wolf would go well with the constelation. As Lupus is speared by Cenarious, I thought of another infamous wolf who got the short stick. Fenris Lokison, tricked and tied up until Ragnaros where he got to eat Odin, so at least that was cool for him.

Personality: Even as an egg Fenrith gave those who touched her shell the impression of a creature laying in wait. Her resting personality is not a happy one nor is it an angry one. She seems to be a mostly static creature, content to lay in wait for one to make the first move against her. A positive reaction to her is rewarded with a polite, if gruff, response. That is the respected action to her brilliance. But if you act negitively, her anger is somehow magnified by her previous neutral position.

The glass is not half full, it is half empty and likely poisoned. Fenrith thinks that the world is against her and the only way to protect herself and hers is CONSTANT VIGILANCE. She is suspicious by nature and seems to think that everyone new is against her. She's not stupid, she knows what color her hide is and seems to be aware of how big of a target it puts on her back. Though she knows that she is a predator, a strong creature who is high up on the food chain, she knows that there will always be those laying in wait to shove spears, be they metephorical or real, into her hide.

There is a time and place for emotions and feelings, and that time is when she is alone with Hers. Outwardly showing that she cares for another creature or showing too much positive praise in a public setting is something that Fenrith avoids at all costs. No matter how good something is, she finds something to complain about loudly. This gives her an apperance of never being satisfied by anything. Fenrith has a deep rooted fear that saying praise, that showing how happy you are with something dooms it to be destroyed.

Fenrith is socially polite but it would be going too far to call her friendly. Not a loner, but she does not seem to actively search for friends. She does find those that she likes more than others, when they have passed all of her little mental tests. Those that perservere and keep with her find that the dragon under the waiting shell isn't a delicate sweet flower like in stories. Fenrith is cranky, cruel, and jugemental against others.

Only others, you see. Those that get close to her are treated as she treats herself. Though she is mean and tough, Fenrith does have a heart and it bleeds for those she cares about. Fenrith is not above using her color and rank to try and brighten her friends by comparison. She plays favorates and wants those that she likes to succeed. And oh, is she ever possesive of those friends. Even if she speaks cruely to them herself, she won't stand to hear things said about them. They are hers and they are above reproach.

Prideful to the point of being full of herself, Fenrith simply knows that she is the best. It isn't because of her color alone (Though she supposes that she's fetching enough) it is because Fenrith is herself, and that in itself has made her better from birth. She acts with an air of superiority and can be quite condescending to those whom she thinks aren't quite at her level.

Though she is prideful, Fenrith can and will shove that pride aside for the betterment of the Weyr. If it takes getting into bed with those she dislikes to gain an advantage of strength, she will do it. She will lay herself on the wire and let others cross over her to safety. She dislikes this immesnsely, but that doesnt' change that she'll do whatever she needs to protect her home.

There are few things that Fenrith hates more than being still. The longest she is in one place is to sleep, and even that she does sparingly. Fenrith is a dragon of action; bold as any Bronze and with the thirst to prove herself that would put a Blue to shame. She doesn't like to sit at the sidelines when she can be out working. When she tears herself away from work to play, she plays roughly with other dragons and she loves to be out on the hunt.

Fenrith has a cruel streak. She finds joy in teasing and pointing out shortcomings. Sometimes they are meant to amuse, sometimes they are meant in jest, but many times Fenrith is aiming to hurt. She has a cruel tongue and knows how to pick her words and actions to maxamise the ammount of hurt they cause.

When clutch time comes for her, Fenrith is not the most attentive of mothers. She is content to guard her eggs but is not overprotective. She pays no attention to the eggs that are hale and hearty, but if an egg seems particularly small or the hatchling inside seems weak she will roll it close. She does so not becuase she is secretly a wonderful mother, but because she feels shamed at making something and not making it perfect. Perhaps moreso than other golds she is affected badly by dragonets betweening themselves or dud eggs. Those were hers, she made them herself. There must have been something wrong with her to make them badly.

Strengths: Protective, A dragon of ACTION, hard working.
Weaknesses: Not maternal, cruel, overly negative .

Color: Gold

Body Points: For a Gold, Fenrith tends to give an impression of somewhat... Lacking a Queenlike stature. She is a smaller gold and built stockily.

Why do you feel this character will suit this dragon?: Oh, Missy knows how to play the good game, doesn't she? Smile on the outside and seethe on the inside. She does that to gain rank, Eh? Fenrith will teach her well that there are things that hide outside the Weyr, things with claws and knives and practiced smiles that are just waiting to rip them apart and use them against one another.

Don't worry. You two can hide in plain sight together, you can watch each other's backs

Are you comfortable with this character also being considered for a clutch dragon?: No thank you!

Personality: Polite and demure on first contact, Missy looks to be a pleasant young woman. She has considerable control of herself and speaks carefully after great consideration.

Her Craft is one of the great joys in her life and nothing will stop her from rising up the ladder to become a great healer.

Slow and steady, Missy thinks greatly about things before she acts. She rarely acts in haste and prefers to have all of her ducks in a row. If things do happen quickly and terribly she'll take a deep breath and act with grace and serenity, rarely giving in to panic. Though she likes her well laid plans she can react to something thrown in her path and will adapt, though it will annoy her to change her perfect plans.

Everything in her life has to be just so, from the placement of bandages on her table to the way she cuts her dinner. She is the type of person who knows where all her things are at any given time, and she keeps her first aid kit conastatnly up to date with stock. On the bright side, she can easily see when someone has tampered with things she has been involved in.

It's fascinating to spin yarns and good exercise to keep them all straight. Missy lets few people in past the lies, keeping herself safe in their coocoon.

And, of course, there's pebbles to get into your shoes, sand to get everywhere, and mud. Missy hates few things in the world more than getting dirty. At least Thread can be fought with dragon flame. There is nothing one can do to ward off getting dirty.

Perhaps some of her drive to succeed in her life path is caused by her own overractions to simple things. When she has a cough it's some sort of horrible lung disease, when she has a headache something has burrowed in and laid an egg in her head. A shortage of desert means the Weyr is hard up for food, missing bandages means someone is stealing.

Strengths: Good Beside Manner, can keep her head in terrible situations, Crazy organized, Driven to succeed.
Weaknesses: Dislikes the outdoors and mud expecially, a lying liar who lies, So very vain, Overreacts.

History: Missy quips about being hatched from an egg similarly to a dragon, but one can hear rather uncultured tones in her voice after an expecially trying day. If asked, she claims to have been born in the North and immigrated south as a young child with her family.

Born in Monaco to a failed courtesean with several other children, Missy's birth added yet another strain to the family. Her young years were spent with never enough food and watching out for which 'Uncle' would be in the house and how to best avoid them. She spent seven turns in Monaco before unexpected salvation hit: the visit of her mother's brother. Radamar was disgusted by the situation that his sister was in and insisted that she return to whatever provencial cothold that she was from. Marathel refused, the pair fought, and it looked like Radamar would return home in defeat. Where Marathel refused, however, her youngest child did not. Miseti snuck out of the house and visited with her uncle while he was in town.

Radamar was horrified by the lack of everything the child had received, and he spirited her away when he left. The family cothold was remote but after spending her young turns at Monaco Missy cherished it. Her mother's parents spoiled her terribly, her uncle doted on her. Whatever had chased her mother away from them was nowhere to be seen. Under their care she caught up with her education and when she turned of age, they happily sent her to the healer hall.

She didn't fit there like she should have. Between her upbringing in Monaco and the isolated life she'd lead for five turns after that, her skills with those her own age was lacking.

Other/Talents: Missy is excelent with her stitches, be they in human flesh or in her dresses.

Potential Leadership Style:
Slow and steady, Missy is the type of girl to wait for her facts to come in before she acts. She rarely makes a decision hastily, which does not make her an ideal type of person to be in power in trying times. However, she also is not the type to make a rash judgement in the heat of the moment.

Political Views: Monaco Weyr herself could use some work. What the Rogues have done to the Weyrwoman is abhorant. Missy likes the Weyr, she enjoys the atmostphere and the feeling of being safe that generally is there. The rogues, she is of mixed feelings about. The individuaials generally don't seem bad, but their methods make them little more than thugs. Their ideals seem nice but their execution is terrible.

Missy rarely thinks of the North, and when she does it's with more of an "I'm glad that I live down here" sort of thought than anything else.

Fenrith is not only the wolf that hunts, she is the wolf that is hunted. Suspicious by nature, she tends to think that new people are inherently out to get her. She isn't stupid: she knows what color her hide is and seems to be aware of the target it puts on her. Though she knows that she is a predator, a strong creature who is high up on the food chain, she knows that there will always be those laying in wait to shove spears, be they metephorical or real, into her hide.

Strengths: Protective, A dragon of ACTION, hard working, willing to make the sacrifice play.
Weaknesses: Not maternal, cruel, overly negative, control freak.

Color: Gold, a darker gold. Other than that, CC. I'm not very imaginative with pattern ideas sadly.

Body Points: For a Gold, Fenrith tends to give an impression of somewhat... Lacking a Queenlike stature. She is a smaller gold and is lean and rangy, looking to be built more for speed than strength. Her hum is low, her thoughts seems rhaspy.

Why do you feel this character will suit this dragon?: Oh, Missy knows how to play the good game, doesn't she? Smile on the outside and seethe on the inside. She does that to gain rank, Eh? But don't you remember, remember the eyes watching you in Monaco? Remember that terror that you felt as a child wondering what they wanted with you? What, those fears have subsided and have been pushed back into the darkness of your mind? Silly girl.

Fenrith will teach you well that there are things that hide outside the Weyr, things with claws and knives and practiced smiles that are just waiting to rip the pair of you apart and use you against one another. Don't worry. You two can hide in plain sight together, you can watch each other's backs. Stitch her when she falls apart at the seams and she will ensure that no one harms you.

Are you comfortable with this character also being considered for a clutch dragon?: No thank you!
