Pulling down her shades Venice tried channelling the rockabilly-1950’s house wife-punk look with a pair of Capri jeans, corseted halter neck top and her trademark red headscarf. Ruby lips clamped tightly around a cigarette she made her way towards her favourite little boutique store. Although it dabbled in modern items its main stock came from the 1920 through to the 60’s and traded with the motto that it was the only ‘Retro’ clothing store in Destiny City. Of course that wasn’t true, they knew it, Venice knew it and the competition knew it but that didn’t stop Destiny citizens to claim it as one of the best. Just like now as she finished her smoke and pondered on the cute little number in the window. Her thighs probably couldn’t take it but god her boobs would look great squished into that dress! Her eyes floated down to the price tag and an internal gripe struck her as she noticed the nearly triple digits. Vintage items were hot commodity right now and she couldn’t blame the shop for exploiting the fashion geeks their well earned cash, it just had the negative effect on those that lived this fashion 24/7 and for more than the 2 months the fashion magazine deemed it worthy. Still it was always fun catching those that, like her, were into this more than a fleeting interest and with a flick of her wrist she sent the cigarette flying and skipped into the shop.

Harmony wasn't strictly a rockabilly kind of a girl. She liked the look and pulled it off along with other looks of the past and present. Safe to say anything retro was her speed and she knew damn well that a good outfit was worth its weight in gold. She did, however, spend a lot of time scouring thrift and vintage stores for the right pieces to add to her closet to keep her wardrobe fresh and fun.

She headed over to one of her favorite spots noticing a pretty girl out front eying a dress in the window. It wasn't the right shape for her and Harm knew it. She moved toward her and studied the dress again. Nope, clearly not. The top was good but...well, that didn't matter. She liked thicker girls. The shape of them appealed to her both as an artist and as someone who couldn't stand the stick figures of modern trends. Not that Venice was fat in her eyes - oh, far from it!

"It won't do much for you," she commented lightly. "The top's right but it'll be hell on your hips. You've got such a great figure why settle for something that won't make it look outstanding?"

It wasn’t often that Venice was taken by surprise. Sometimes she would buy a carton of cigarettes with the wrong brand inside or her iphone would suddenly play Justin Beiber while she was having a house party. But she rarely got people commenting on her figure and possible purchases as if reading her mind. It was a pleasant surprise and Venice twisted round slowly to see her mystery psychic shopper. Her eyes rested first on the bounty of mint coloured hair and her mind was transported to the land of green ice-cream and shiny emeralds. Smiling instinctively she looked at the tendrils cascading down and twirled one of her own in response her first thought being that she wanted to eat this girls hair the second one slight more coherent.

“Wo-ow…your hair…I mean, seriously your hair! It’s gorgeous!” No formalities, no introductions, just straight in there. She laughed as she took a step forward, almost daring herself to touch it but holding back at the last second. It would do her no good to fondle strangers in the street…again.

“Its beautiful” She uttered again before her mind flickered back to why she had turned around in the first place and her head nodded in slow agreementOh, yes, your right of course, my a** would look huuuu-gg—hheee in that thing! The girls wouldn’t be too bad squeezed in, but the rest of me? God I would look like a sausage!” Laughing at the thought she shook her head sadly. She wasn’t fat by any means, voluptuous with added soft bits of course but she would never be a skinny like most of the chicks running around Destiny City. “So…are you a stylist then? Or were you incensed with the thought that my giant hips would ruin that outfit??”

Harm was just your average stick figure and nothing worth writing home over, in her opinion. That's why fashion was so important, to add sprinkles to an otherwise boring dish of ice cream. She smiled, though, to hear herself complimented and was able to take that graciously anyway.

"Thanks. I get it from my mom."

Well, kind of. The dark emerald streaks were the color of her mom's hair. The mint coloring...she wasn't sure. One could assume it was a combination of her mother and father but having never even seen a picture of her sperm donor it was simply assumed. She could never be sure of it. She was kind of used to people complimenting her on it and having strangers randomly boing her curls as if her hair was public property to anyone with any amount of curiosity.

"You've got a wicked sense of style but no, I'm no stylist. I'm just a photographer who likes fashion. Vargas girls and the like, that's my era. I miss when women had curves and didn't have to take it off to be sexy."

Again, that was something assumed as she hadn't been born even remotely around that time period. She believed that there could be something found to flatter Venice especially in shops like this that catered to women with meat. I mean, if guys are so against having a salad why have salad chomping girls? Made no sense to Harmony.

"I'm Harm and no, I didn't think your hips would ruin the dress. Quite the opposite, actually."

Oh Venice loved a compliment or two and when the girl showered them she was more than eager to lap them up. It made such a difference from the name calling and bitchy battles she had on the track or the wolf whistles or insults she got in the street that Venice was grinning so wide she concerned herself that it was turning into a grimace.

“Me? A wicked style? Ohhh I like you!” She sang as she linked unlimitedly to the girls arm and dragged her into the shop. Who cares if this wasn’t the strangers destination she was coming in here and helping her out!

“Harm? Surely that’s short for something? I knew a goth who swore to god…or the devil that she was called Pain…yeah, she was weirdo but your too cute for something like that.” Venice may have been bright but she was also from a world that gave people the right to have stupid names and she wouldn’t have battered a further eye if the girl had said it was true.

Well not as funky, which am totally jelous about by the way, but my name is Venice and you Harm” She grabbed both her hands and pulling them up till they nearly touched her chest and squeezed them together as if in some funny sort of prayer pose. You Harm, will find me something beautiful to wear with your amazingly sexy photography brain!” It was so much a request or pled but fact, this was happening even if Venice had to tie her up and try things on for her until she said yes!

"It's short for Harmony."

Harm knew a little bit of everyone in every group as eclectic as her tastes could be sometimes. She knew exactly what Venice meant when she mentioned someone who swore they were called Pain. She knew a guy once who thought he was a vampire and insisted that everyone call him "Dante" so, yeah, some people were nuts. There was a difference between having a nickname and being delusional.

She wasn't really prepared for the other girl to grab her arm and haul her into the store. It was a great little boutique and she'd visited it upon occasion but that wasn't exactly where she'd been headed today. Oh, well, too late now. Besides, anything she had to do was only extraneous anyway and could be put off a while. She liked the idea of shopping with a new friend better.

"Thanks!" She certainly liked being called cute. Praise was not something any girl in her right mind turned down. When the request was made she blinked. "I am?"

She really liked that idea once she got over the fact that she was going to be shopping for a random stranger. She started shuffling through racks and kept glancing at the girl every so often all the while chatting away about fashion and how this era was pretty much better than any other. Not that she looked like she belonged here. She was wearing a funky wide belt slung across her hips at an angle, a leather jacket and a pair of black capris.

In the end she picked this out. She ushered Venice into the dressing room to see her creation on and to try and figure out how well she'd done. She'd never been anyone's personal shopper before.

Venice much preferred Harmony to Harm, even if it had given the girl a sense of danger the pretty little thing didn’t look like she could do much harm to anyone…except Venice had thought that before and nearly lost an eye to her mistake. For a moment she though of Harmony as a Negaverse agent and quickly stifled the thought dead. There was no point in thinking everyone was an agent or Youma in disguise. That’s how people lost it. That how people lost potential styling artists.

“Of course you are Harmony, cute as a button. And that hair! I still want to eat it!!” As the student went about looking Venice played with the beads that hung from a manikin before stuffing her head inside hats that smelt like her attic back home, the need to place hat after hat on her head had her momentarily distracted from Harmony fast decisions. The sudden activity of being pushed towards the changing room had her dumbstruck before she saw the items she was to wear and started to squeal all over again.

“OHMYGOSHITSGORGEOUS! This dress! Oh wow it’s even in my size! Harmony! Girl you have taste!” Following this happy outburst came banging, sliding and a lot of cursing from inside the small cubical as zips were undone and clips attached before Venice whipped the curtain aside and stepped out. The clothes fitted like a glove. Following the contours of her body the dress dipped in and out at all the right places, the rose although black was still apparent in her raven hair and the skirt gave little glimpse of the tights with the rose motif that tempted you to follow it further.

“Isn’t it pretty? Look how it floats!” She span on a heeled foot to allow the skirt to fan out, flashing more of her tight design and the petticoat sown underneth. “I love it!!! EEEeeeii you picked perfectly!” Once again she was running over to where Harmony stood and squished her into a hug. It was a embrace that resembled something of a bear attacking a small animal in the woods but Venice had already picked her up from the ground and span a half circle with her. “I love it, I love it, I love it!” She had yet to put the girl down.

"Looks good."

Harmony was squished by the biggest hug she'd ever received short of the one her mother gave her when she returned home from space. She buckled a little under the pressure of it but managed to smile and not choke. She was spun around and looked torn between tolerant amusement or concern for herself. She even returned the hug as best she could. Venice did look pretty and Harmony had to admit she'd done a good job in choosing.

"I style my models a lot. This is kind of the same thing."

The mint haired girl pulled the camera from her bag always on hand for whenever she might need it. It seemed to be her lot in life and she was happy about that. There was never a doubt she was on the right path, especially not when she could do things like this using her experience to help.

Harmony toyed with her own dress, a cute black thing with cherries on it, and was happy for the interruption in her plans. Making a new friend was totally worth it. She couldn't keep the smile from her face in the wake of Venice's joy and enthusiasm.

"That outfit was kind of made for you."

“Dam I’d say! I love it, seriously girl you need to do this as your day job or I am going to flip a lid because you have some talent! My a** even looks smaller, how you do that!?” Venice noted the camera in her hand and pulled a face and then a more sombre expression before pulling her lips into her trademark smile. She performed moves and held up items of clothing to display poses for Harmony to take, for surly that was the only reason she would bring such a thing and Venice was more than happy to oblige!

“I should dress you next! But you’re such a skinny thing I wouldn’t know what to put you in, plus you look adorable right now!” Venice pulled at her dress hem slight, almost lifting it up further than she expected not that you could put past Venice for trying to see a nice pair of pins she was truly looking at the cherries (truly).

“Ok, let me go get changed and pay for these things, and if you want I would love to take you out for coffee? Or if you’re busy today I can take your number? I want to pick that pretty little brain over some more! Especially if you’re going to make me look this good! I will just have to keep you!”

"Go for it!"

She didn't mind being dressed up upon occasion. Harmony hadn't played with Barbies much as a kid but now that she was older she realized she'd missed out on a lot, designing and dressing up the dolls in pretty outfits. Thanksfully, that's what ball jointed dolls were for. That seemed to be a legitimate art now, and not just something to make people think she was still stuck in her childhood years.

Harm waited while Venice checked out, looking around the retro shop one last time. It wasn't on her usual rotation but probably should be considering the pretty things that seemed to be at hand's reach in front of her. With a smile she rejoined the raven haired beauty.

"I work at a coffee house, Espresso Yourself, in the U district. Maybe you've heard of it?" She smiled. "Maybe I can treat you?"

She got things for free, after all, and it wasn't much of a hassle. She did hand Venice her phone, though, to program her number in. A friend like this was one she definitely needed to keep. The mint haired girl was feeling very good about herself as she stepped back into the sunshine. Being kept didn't seem like such a bad thing.

She pulled a bemused face at Harmony's acceptance at playing dress up, her hand cupping her chin as she tapped a cheek and mused what sort of outfit the girl should wear. She was pretty much in the perfect outfit for herself, there wasn't much she could do to improve it, and that's where the secret lay. Paying for the clothes she walked out with Harmony before the idea struck, her body freezing in mock shock before quickly turning around and running back in. Her shouts screamed from inside as she rang back and forth, her words echoing out to the pretty girl as she did her best act of a mini hurricane. "OH MY GOD! I have the best idea! Wait here just like, two seconds! TWO SECONDS!"

She flung herself into the clothing piles, swimming through hangers and pulling at jumpers until she found the perfect look for Harmony's petite figure, a wicked smile playing on her lips as she came back to the door. "Girl you have to wear this! ITS FABULOUS!" She shouted out into the street as she hung with one hand clinging to the door frame while the other carried mountains of clothes. She almost threw the stuff at her despite the irate mutterings from the store staff behind and tried to drag her back towards the shop, her pull only half joking as she waited for her reaction. "Spikes are totally in season!! Haha!" She twirled the sunglasses and placed them on Harmony's face, her hands running down the side of her cheek as she cooed at her. " You look so cute! I should do this job! I am wicked good!"

The sound of the assistance calling for her to come back with the merchandise rang out and Venice flinched at the shrill voice. " Keep your knickers on! Am coming! God people don't know how to take a joke! But its not the first place I've been banned from! Ha!" She gently took the glasses back from Harmony and put the things back inside in a pile, her hand waving merrily at the staff as she ran back out.

"Espresso sounds great!! But uhh..."
She peered back at the shop as one of the staff spoke angrily down the phone, she knew that look and voice too well, security would be coming any minute now "I uhh, better get moving, you too honey. Split up and maybe we can meet up for a coffee soon huh? You have my number and possibly a warrant on your head now so...Enjoy!" With a quick hug Venice twisted round and began running the opposite way, her hand moving in her pocket as she complained of having a stitch before pulling out a cigarette and started puffing away.
