It was quiet.
Makoto frowned into the empty space beyond the kotatsu, a languid tail uncurling to roll back and forth in restlessness. The tea had gone cold, he had no one to terrorize, sleeping had become boring awhile ago, and he was completely and utterly at a loss of what to do. It was one of those moments where he was suddenly aware that this was not the bathhouse he'd been raised in, there were no servants to consume and bother if they got too irritating, and there were no siblings to bother either.
Which made for a very sudden change in mood.
The Inugami unfurled from his seated position and stood, stepping off of the raised hardwood platform of his dorm room and sidling to the door. Pulling it open, Makoto stepped into the empty halls and glanced left and right, debating on which way he should go. There was no guarantee of an interesting time dealing with other demons (half of them were too snobbish for their own good, and half of them existed only to be a thorn in his side), but he had little interest in leaving the building and even less in going back into his empty room to sleep or make tea or play shogi by himself. There was, of course, the option of finding Shoji and bothering him to death, but considering that Makoto had no tolerance to step foot within the monsters dorms, he ambled down one corridor without direction.
It was only by sheer dumb luck (or misfortune) that he ended up outside of a dorm room with a wide open door. New student? Makoto's eyes flickered to the interior curiously. Something was moving about, but the monochrome colors and the dimness of the hall made it difficult to detail an appearance in his mind. The Inugami's ears wavered curiously for a long moment, his tail curling back and forth. Well, He decided finally with a rumbling growl, it wasn't like anything more interesting was going to come along.
Rumbling again, Makoto stepped without much delicacy through the threshold and into the room, peering around with a mixture of curiosity and boredom.
"Tadaima." He drawled teasingly, his tail whipping back and forth in a pleasant manner.
Time to terrorize someone new.

-And this went here, and this there- Maddy eyed the glossy runway printout, before stickying it firmly to the white and black patterned walls of his room. Overall, the look was shaping up nicely. He already had all of his plushies unpacked, and by all of his plushies he meant enough to pile floor to cieling an entire wall corner. And still, he never had enough.
He frowned slightly, debating if they needed a reorganization by color as well as size. But no, that would require too much time, and he still had all these boxes, besides his suitcases to go through! Muttering something to himself about a need for hired hands he seized a box, dragging it across the room towards the bed and dropped it alongside another labeled "PINK" in sloppily scrawled block letters. He frowned, and his foot nudged the new box. Right in front of it, so that the letters were no longer visible. Satisfied once again, he began to open the box and unpack his things.
A portrait of his mother, father, grandfather, and sister, framed in black went onto the ebony dresser at his bedside. A small box of needle and thread landed beside it. Maddy was just picking up his beloved sketch-pad, when an unexpected knock came at the door.
Tadaima?? He didn't know who that was, but it most certainly was not him. And in the silence that followed, an odd sensation began to creep along the boil's spine. The kind of sensation one has when they realize they are being watched, that their personal boundaries have been breached, that all they hold sacred and dear has just been defiled—
Maddy's fur bristled. With only a slight tilt of his head, he cooly replied: "I am afraid you are mistaken. There is no such person by that name here."keiifuu A pile of plushies to play with, a box of pink things ... choices choices, Makoto ;>

Makoto glanced sidelong at Maddy with the air of one with devious plans in mind, his long tail unfurling and curling back and forth just above the ground of the dorm. He examined everything with a cursory glance, his lips curling slightly into a smile at the pile of stuffed toys in the corner. What a strange creature to walk in on, and an even stranger room. His own was decorated in dark reds and lavish, bright golds. This one was dark, and where it was modern, his instead held the air of royal antiquity.
"Tadaima," He drawled in a low, rich voice, "is what is used to announce that you are home where I come from." He smiled amiably at Maddy, though by the way he looked, he seemed almost like a plotting wolf. "Ah, but I overstep pleasantries."
Obviously.
Makoto ambled over towards Maddy, his long ears furling forward and down at the strange monochrome creature. "I am Reizei Makoto." He offered pleasantly, though no hand appeared from beneath the rich silk folds of his clothing. "And you - you are tonights entertainment." His laugh resonated through the room with a deep, husky boom, settling in the base of his throat as he smiled down at his prey.
He bowed his head low, so that he was nose and nose with the cat, ears cocked forward and eyes wide and bright gold. "So, what is your name, nekochama? You certainly seem an... ahhh, adorable little find." And by the way he said adorable, it almost seemed as though he were saying edible instead. And by the way he looked at the cat, it seemed as though he were cornering pray.
Good luck taming your new companion, Maddy. Good luck surviving as well.

Feeling the chill along his spine giving no signs of easing, Maddy slowly turned to face the demon. Golden eyes, so very opposite his silvery own. Red hair spilling across a wolfish form. Albeit a rather richly dressed form. Maddy eyed the fine silks and patterns with fascination momentarily, before daring to form a reply. "I see. It seems your people also dress with fine taste. I admire that."
But then the wolf came forward quite a bit. And while it allowed Maddy a wonderful closeup of the delicate clothes, it also was a bit too close for his personal boundaries. The cait sith backed a step, fur bristling at the sheer octave of that laugh. "Well, Reizei Makoto—Makoto, may I call you that?? ... I am afraid I have no time for entertainment, but you are free to help me with—"
Halfway in turning as he spoke, Maddy was stopped abruptly by the roguish tall face that leveled down with his. Pinned between his own bed and the dresser, he had nowhere else to turn. This was quite a predicament. His tail swished behind him in sheer frustration. He wasn't certain if it was the close proximity of the taller boil, or the way his accent seemed to mispronounce the word adorable. Perhaps there was something chilling in the way those warm buttery eyes seemed almost hungry, and not in a delightful way.
Regardless, Maddy's instincts were screaming the flight response. It was also too bad he was too proud, and in this case, too cornered for it to do him any good. And so puffing his chest into the best impassive look he could manage, the demon cat reluctantly mumbled: "Maddox. ... My name is Maddy."

"Yes," Makoto drawled lazily, "we dress to accommodate our clients and in turn represent ourselves with dignity." His eyes raked over Maddy with lazy amusement, his expression on the surface impassive, though his aura seemed almost imposing. He gave a gentle rumble, a growl in the base of his throat that almost seemed dangerous. "Though sometimes the importance of clothing is lost on me. I find the value of words and body language far more fascinating."
He laughed as the other stepped back, his eyes nearly glowing with dangerous, predatory amusement. The scent of this boy was not unlike others, but it radiated new territory, and one he was interested in invading. Cats, as it were, were so much fun to play with. And by play, Makoto usually meant stepping on their tails. "Hmmm." He glanced at the other, raising one fine brow. "So friendly already? My, my." His ears folded nearly against his head, bright crimson against dark red. "Makoto is fine. As long as you never use the word bocchama in my presence, no matter what a certain skeleton might tell you." He clicked his tongue, and by the way his eyes flickered over Maddy's being again, it would appear as though anything past his question of name calling had been completely ignored.
His tail twisted around, a long, thick glossy furred monstrosity, and he grinned at Maddy the way one grinned when they'd found a prize hidden in an otherwise dull place. He inhaled and growled, his canines a sharp white against the tan of his skin.
"Ha." He exhaled a soft sound of laughter at the puffed chest and impassive look. "Maddox. Maddy. Ah," He leaned even closer so that their foreheads touched, his sense of boundaries seemingly nonexistent - or perhaps eradicated at the moment for the sake of pestering the poor cat. "You seem so unbalanced, poor nekochama. Do I frighten you?"
He leaned back with an air of predatory elegance to his full height, eyes half lidding and nearly aglow in the dimness of the room.
For now, Maddox had his undivided attention. Which, depending on the point of view, wasn't exactly a good thing.xoxomenai i'm so sorry makoto is a terrible creeper

Well, there was some charm in this abnormality of a demon. He possessed a fine taste, which Maddy could respect. And being a boil of business, he understood all too well the values in dressing well before one's clientele. Readjusting his kerchief a bit he stared the other evenly in the eye, even as the taller demon's ears dipped threateningly and those molten eyes danced with a sharp edge.
Bocchama?? ... another foreign phrase, a word lost on Maddy's tongue. Note to self, brush up on the various cultural customs of Halloween. It was important for a businessman to know his clientele thoroughly. And he would have likely asked the demon of his customs just then, had he not been suddenly trapped in a corner of his own room. And had the foxy demon not asked him one very key question.
Did he frighten him?? ... DID HE FRIGHTEN HIM?? ...
Weeelllll ...
He. Was. Being. Touched. ... He was being touched ...!
Hewasbeingtouched!!!
It seemed the taller demon was not satisfied in simply looming above him as though about to chomp down on a tasty morsel, but had now gone so far as to press himself to his forehead, eye to eye. No no no, this was not right. This was not proper. One did not simply touch him. There was something scarelings called cooties something dreadful he did not wish to catch. And he was simply Not. About. TO BE—
Maddy nearly screamed, a deafening, shrieking scream born of both sheer panic and quite a bit of fury. The muscles in his face twitched and contorted slightly, and for once true emotion flashed in his platinum eyes. He wasn't used to feeling this. To feeling anything so strongly. He rationalized everything after all, prioritized his daily life using knowledge and common sense. The proper way. It was almost laughable the way the feelings mingled and rumbled from deep in his throat, progressing to a low and sizzling hiss. So weak and almost civil that it was cute really. Amusing how he wilted on the spot, tail flicking back and forth, eyes glowering. But his pride, as always, held the most sway. And despite the wounds he was now inwardly nursing he managed a curt and contrary: "You infuriate me."
However, had the feline been a bit more level-headed and not so emotionally dazed, he might have thought better of his next sentence. A sentence that would likely haunt him for years to come.
"In fact, I dare you, Makoto. I dare you to do your worst!"keiifuu Maddy, just face it. You are Makoto's shiny new toy |D

Makoto rumbled at the others incompetence, his long tail twisting back and forth in languid procession. It almost interesting - in the way that a bug beneath a microscope was interesting. Even other demons had long since ceased in their usefulness apart from being mildly entertaining - Makoto had a hunger for the company of others and playing games and pushing and pushing and pushing to see how far he could stretch and tear someone until they snapped. But that hunger was insatiable, and it was almost sad how quickly others could lose their minds under the slightest pressure of words.
The demons mouth curved upwards into a dark smile, predatory and starved. His ears flicked back against his hair, a deep throated sound of amusement vibrating through his core. The cats reactions were marked and noted with sly amusement, drawing out a low chuckle as he reached forward, clamping his hand over Maddy's mouth when he hissed. "Shh." He murmured, his eyes half-lidding even though they still seemed hauntingly bright beneath the dark red lines that accented his skin. "Don't lose your temper so soon, Maddox." His mouth split further than seemed right, the gleam of white canines flashing dangerously close to the cats face. "You wouldn't want to stir up unnecessary attention with your door wide open."
He chuckled as his fingers slid down from Maddy's mouth to his collarbone, nails digging into the exposed skin there. "Well then, our relationship shall indeed be an interesting one, hm?" His tail rolled back and forth slowly, as though a pendulum swinging and counting down the minutes until one of them snapped. "Ah, how can you tell me that so quickly though, I wonder? You hardly know what I can do, what I might want to do yet. We've only just met after all."
The next words were returned with a long stare, contemplating, controlled, intrigued. A challenge? A dare? No, it was most definitely the worst thing Maddy could have said to Makoto, who had his hinges only barely screwed on on a normal day. And today was not at all normal it seemed. The demon's mouth opened into a low, inhuman growl, the sharp canines pronounced against his dark skin. His hand, so gentle on the base of Maddy's collarbone, suddenly lifted and clamped around the others throat, just enough, just controlled and precise enough.
Makoto leaned in, his eyes lidding, his hair spilling over his shoulder and mingling against the black of the cats clothes. "That was a poor choice of words for one as unprepared as yourself to say to me." He murmured, his teeth raking over the soft flesh of the others jawline. The demon laughed, his tail twisting back and forth, ears pinned to the red of his hair. He leaned back enough to catch the others sight, a deep rumble of sound trapped in his throat.
"Let us count the seconds until you begin to regret what you've just said." Makoto smiled, but the false cheer was all but eradicated in favor of a dark and whole fascination, a single-minded intrigue the cat should never have had the misfortune to bring upon himself. "And in the meantime, I will try and do my worst." xoxomenai i cant begin to figure out how to apologize for this CREEPER

Maddy's slim frame rippled the moment Makoto's hand shot round his face. The hiss had died almost as quickly as it formed, reduced to an indiscernible mumble. His slender hands curled round the inugami's limb in an attempt to pry it away, but it seemed the demon had a deathgrip to match. No problem, he would simply improvise. Squirming a bit beneath Makoto's hold, he just managed to get a single sharp canine around the boil's finger, and quickly sank down. Though to be honest, his bite probably felt more like a tickle, and would likely prove only to irritate or amuse the sadistic demon.
His sharp tongue had gotten the best of him again. Perhaps this was what father had meant when he said he worried for his future ...
You won't have to worry long ... he noted to himself, eyeing the pearly white canines that grazed his cheek. At least Makoto had good breath. Though really, what bother was it if the demon killed him now?? ... He would only dissipate and reform again. It wasn't like death was an immense threat to a Halloweener. Maddy was more concerned by what it might reflect back on his family, his honor, his livelihood, if he were to be shredded by his ... new dorm-mate.
His tail swatted against the boil's leg, but he retained his composure. Makoto was right. He was held fast, unable to scream, and making a bolt for the door was neither a likely or a wise decision. He had made his bed, and now ... Maddy shivered slightly. Now he would simply have to deal with it.
Of course, then the demon's hand was around his throat, squeezing and tilting his head just high enough that Maddy found it a bit hard to breathe. He winced, his tiny canines gritting against the pain. Definitely a deathgrip. But worst of all was the teasing snap of the demon's teeth against his skin. Toying with him. The feline's tail beat nervously against the other's leg, but he only squeezed his eyes shut.
He had to think of something. Makoto was a demon, the same as himself. And it was common knowledge all demons valued a good deal. But what would appease this one?? ...
"A poor choice of words ... yes," Maddy managed to choke between breaths, his voice sounding broken and weaker than he intended from the claws squeezing into his neck. "Perhaps I should offer some better ones, then ... Ma-Makoto-san?? ..."
-San. It was a phrase he had heard his father use often when addressing certain clientele. Whether it was an accurate assumption however, had yet to be seen.keiifuu /holds ;; <3 and /shot but idek sflkasfsfd Makoto, reel yourself in, Maddy, stop being stupid |D

Makoto rumbled at the other, a low, deep growl that seemed impossibly animalistic. His eyes were a bright, glowing amber, but they seemed sharp and carnal and hungry, with nothing in sight but the cat. Whether or not the canine embedded in his finger was felt or not was up to Maddy to decide; the demon did little but glance at the other, his hold tightening just slightly before it slid.
When the other spoke, it almost seemed to have no effect. The wolf only watched him, his long tail curling back and forth slowly like a pendulum - mechanical, thoughtless, heartless. His hand slowly loosened, until it simply rested around the thin curve of Maddy's throat. "Mm." He rumbled quietly, laughing even though it spread from his lips like a dead sound, hollow and drawn out. "You're just the same." He murmured, taking his hand away and stepping back. "Monotonous."
He turned on his heel, his long tail snaking across the floor as he examined the room and swung the door shut all in one long, languid stride. Without pre-amble, he refolded his hands beneath the long silk of his robes, moving about the room like a restless carnivore, starved for meat. "Useless. Stupid. Arrogant." The words seemed to get more and more aggravated with each syllable, until Makoto's head snapped up and he glared at Maddy.
"You want to offer me something better? You want to make a deal?" He scoffed, his tail whipping around him in restlessness. "I could take anything I wanted from you." He mocked, baring his fangs. "And what could you offer me anyways?" His lips turned into a smile that seemed hungry. "What is there that you could possibly give, to me? Isn't it pathetic, poor little kitten? We make deals with lesser creatures, yet here you are, trying to bargain with me." He turned his head away, examining the room without really examining it at all.
After a long moment, the demon exhaled, and his shoulders, so tight and wound seemed to unravel into fluid listlessness. "Ahhh." He growled quietly, staring at Maddy with the air of someone coming up to the surface of a dream. "You're annoying." He surmised with a sigh, letting his head tilt bonelessly, dark red hair spilling over dark silk and fur. "But please, enlighten me for theoretical purposes. What do you even think you could begin to offer to me?" xoxomenai i s2g makoto i'm kicking u out asdfgh

Maddy sank back onto the edge of his bed with a relieved sigh the moment Makoto released him. But the sharp snap of the door lifted his gaze.
The inugami's eyes were blazing. Try as he might though, Maddy couldn't understand what it was the demon truly wanted from him. Money?? Any demon, even the poorest and most miserable, still had money to spare. And he would bet his last silver seed that Makoto was the type of old money that put his family's own to shame. Power, fame?? ... Clearly the demon already had more control of this situation than Maddy himself. And fame he felt, somehow didn't suit the boil.
His tail flicked, and a pitched growl began to grow again deep in his throat. He didn't like the way the demon referred to him as stupid and useless. It wasn't true. He would prove that. To his family, to this dog. To everyone. His ears began to twitch, the way they always did when became thoroughly frustrated.
A moment of quiet settled between them, before it was Makoto to once again break the silence. His sudden proposal took the feline by mild surprise. To be honest, he didn't have an answer. And that only proved Makoto's case, which annoyed Maddy even more. His tail thumped against the side of the bed as he rumbled out a brash retort. "Food, for one," He tilted his head to take in the inugami, especially the glint in his golden eyes. "You look as though your temper has worked up quite an appetite." Little did he know that his assumptions were likely true, in more ways than one. Maddy's thoughts flickered to what the boil had said, and a sigh escaped his throat. "... It is true, I am really only a simple demon." A scoff left the boil's throat, and he slowly relaxed, limbs slinking into a more resigned position. "If I can even be called a true demon." His eyes caught Makoto's almost with an envious sheen. "You though, are a demon in every sense. Powerful, merciless, fearful, seductive even. I'll give you that. You could have anything you desire ... I was born into a family of values. I have been raised a businessman. Not a demon. I've come to this school, to learn. How. How to be the proper demon I should have been all along. Laugh if you will ... you are right. I can offer you nothing ... Nothing more than my company, perhaps, if you really wish to waste your time with me."

Makoto watched the cat with a slow, tempered stare, the gold of his eyes nearly swallowing the black. Though he'd calmed minutely, he nearly seemed feral beneath the surface; his skin merely a cage keeping an animal inside. His body vibrated a restless, hungry aura, his tail twitching and furling back and forth in agitation as he waited through the brunt of the cats delicate speech. When it was over, he merely allowed himself to growl, a deep and reverberating sound in the base of his throat.
With the grace of a predator, Makoto moved forward, slinking towards the bed with a gliding, measured gait. "Food," He repeated the word in amusement, laughter coiling around his tone, "and what is it you think I'm hungry for?" He was at the edge of the bed now, looming over the cat, gold eyes seeming to pulse a sickening, vibrant color.
What could he feed him? Makoto felt a hunger surge in his belly, a painful and aching need to dig his nails into flesh and - the Inugami felt his skin prickle with gooseflesh, and the ache, like a dull hunger, filled him down to his core. He exhaled slowly when Maddy finished speaking, his eyes raking across the felines form slowly, as though eating in the appearance with a new focus.
"A true demon." He repeated slowly, and laughed. It was a hollow, spiteful sound, like broken glass and the crackling embers of a dying flame. He thought of cold hands and a pain deep in his bones, and all of the reasons that he had been forced to come here. "You give me such a fine title, my little cat." He murmured, his ears folding back against the dark of his hair. "And yet you know so little."
He moved then, sliding the long, heavy silk haori he'd been wearing off of his shoulders. It fell to the floor in a pile a royal red and trim gold, patterned and beautiful and completely mistreated for an item of such wealth. "Ah," He rumbled, moving onto the bed and into Maddy's space, leaning over him, even though he seemed not nearly as imposing as he had just a moments before. He lifted his hands to frame the cats face, tilting it up at him so that he could see the boil's eyes clearly. His lips curled into a slow smile, his tail snaking back and forth slowly. "Offer me a break from the monotony, you poor, sad thing." He said slowly, quietly. "Offer me a way out my madness." Riddles of the spoken tongue - ah right, he was good at those, wasn't he? "Offer me color in this black and white world." His eyes lidded. "Offer me distractions from this existence that I cannot stand." He thumbed over Maddy's cheek, and bent his head, pushing his nose and mouth against the soft flesh of the cats neck, just beneath his ear. "Offer me all of the things you cannot give." He hummed quietly, the sound vibrating in his throat, pressed against the warmth of the felines body whether he was welcome or not.
But unlike before he was gentle, almost deceptively slow. His mood was mercurial, changing rapidly alongside the things that Maddy said.
How long this state of mind would last though... well, that was up to time to tell.

Maddy pondered the inugami's question carefully, fully aware now of the madness in those eyes. He had an answer on tip of his tongue, but it couldn't be right. The demon had already deemed him useless. What could he possibly want with him?? ...
Of course, it seemed Makoto was as unpredictable as he was temperamental. A wicked laugh, and he was suddenly by Maddy's side again. The door shut. The boil's outermost garment tossed aside. The situation was unsettling, to say the least. But Maddy didn't have long to worry as the demon's warm hands framed about his face, bringing pale lunar orbs perpendicular to ravenous pools of molten gold.
Maddy's breath began to shallow. He curled his fingers at his side, sharp white nails digging into the soft palm. No. He must endure this. Even if the gentle touch of those hands bothered him, even if there was truly nothing he could provide the boil ... for the sake of them both, he had to do something.
Head tilted, cradled in warm hands, the sensation of Makoto's lips to his skin set Maddy's heart aflutter. As his ears began to twitch, he wondered if Makoto realized he had always been ticklish around the ears. The demon's voice rumbled, so soft, so ... vulnerable, almost. Pleading, daring him to make a move.
Maddy's hand shifted slowly, fingers cautiously lifting to touch, and sift the demon's auburn hair. It was impeccably smooth and fine, and even smelled quite fragrant. As fine as any stylist in the family business. He tugged, drawing the strands to his nose as he took in the scent. "... Revenge." He answered finally. " ... I believe you are hungry for revenge ... As your words and tone speak for you, ... you want me to suffer, because you feel that I ... that our entire kind are not the proper demons we were meant to be. Which may be true ..." Something akin to a chuckle left Maddy's throat. It was a slightly twisted, bitter sound that was rarely heard; because Maddy was not a demon to find many things worth laughing over. But it was grimly amusing, how hypocritical such logic seemed, if it was indeed true. And if it was true, well, Maddy knew well enough, everyone had their own reasons for their behavior.
Except maybe Makoto.
A frown tugged the edge of his lips. His fingers sifted through the demon's hair, a pleasant distraction from the close proximity. "... Did you know, Makoto-sama, that neither black or white are my favorite color?? ..." A calm, soft purr began to develop deep in his throat, his eyes remaining transfixed for a moment to the demon's hair. "Though you would likely despise me more if you knew ..." A glimmer of emotion flickered again in the cat's eyes, the purr dying in his throat as quickly as it had come. "Would pain make you feel better?? ... If I hit you, would you rage?? ... If I dared to kiss you as you do me, would it be enough?? ... If I simply let you do whatever you please, would you be satisfied, Makoto-sama??" Maddy responded, this time with more questions, his silvery eyes staring those golden ones down. He needed answers. "I do not think there is anything I can give, that would truly satisfy you ..." The cat settled back slightly. "However ... so long as we understand one another to some degree, I'll leave my door open for you shall I?? ..." He grasped the demon's hand against his cheek, tilting his head against it just so as he stared almost innocently to the other. Awaiting a verdict from the beast.keiifuu I'm sorry this is sooo awkward and a possibly a little ooc of Maddy (Makoto, you're wearing off on him already |D) sdflkafsa I hope it's acceptable ;;

The inugami growled against the flesh of the feline's neck, shifting so that his weight was pressed against Maddy's body, warm, burning almost. In his gut, he could feel a hunger, but this wasn't his home, and this wasn't another servant he could tease until they became boring again. This wasn't his high ground. He had to remember that, for the sake of his sanity, and his family's reputation, as little as he cared to admit that it was one of the things he endeavored to protect.
The growl only became more and more of a rumbling vibration in his throat as the boy threaded fingers through his hair. Unbidden, his ears flexed, the way a dogs would in anticipation of contact. He listened to the words without moving, acknowledging anything that the feline said. His long tail went limp, curling off the side of the bed limply, its tips brushing against the ground. In his mind, he could hear words and phrases and far off memories. Words are just words, someone had told him once, they have little meaning. They are useless in the face of all that matters to someone like you. And it made no sense to him at the time - words were what demons manipulated to get what they wanted after all. Words, above all else, were their tools of trade.
"Ah. Perhaps. Revenge is always something a demon craves after all. The subject of his hunger and the lengths with which he must go to achieve it varies however. From possible to impossible." He murmured against the skin, raking his sharp canines over the flesh curiously. He nuzzled into it like an animal, inhaling sharply with a snarl embedded in his throat. "Ah, I'm hungry. Feed me." He teased cruelly, his tone sharp like shattered glass for a long moment. He laughed at the purr, his tail flickering for a brief moment before he pressed his head upwards, grazing the base of the cat's ear with his mouth to talk against it. "Pain is just pain. You cannot hurt what truly matters. Bleed me and I'll just reform. It's a sick game that fate has given us, hmmmm." His voice dipped low, and he sank his canine into the furry appendage. "You can't satisfy me. Sate me, perhaps, with pain, with your intimacy, with your words. But everything is ephemeral - and I dare you to prove me wrong."
He leaned back, enough that they were only a little more than nose and nose, his eyes a brilliant amber gold. "You can't." He said again, and this time his tone was gravelly and loathing. "If you could change existence itself, if you could give me a color beyond grey to see," His fingers splayed in front of his eyes, the irises nearly swallowed whole by the bright amber, "if you could erase the monotony, keep my attention long enough that I might actually care - ah, but you can't, and you'd be foolish to try."
He laughed at the others innocent stare, like a cat after burning down the house. He curved his nails against the skin gently, sliding it up into the felines hair and gripping enough that he could tilt Maddy's head back with ease. "Hmmmm, and what do you want to understand about me, little cat?" He growled quietly, and let go, pushing his fingers against Maddy's chest. "Move." He muttered, and without waiting, manipulated the cat back against the bed, pushing him back against the pillows of the bed and leaning against the warmth of Maddy's smaller body. "I imagine," He hummed, huffing against Maddy's collarbone, "that open or closed, I'll manage my way in somehow. But - " He laughed, his ears folding forward, eyes slipping closed for a moment. "I think it would be less dangerous if I was welcome in your room first."
Not, of course, that it mattered in the least to someone like Makoto. Perhaps it wasn't a true verdict, not yet, but Maddy seemed to have tamed the more dangerous part of the beast - temporarily at least. xoxomenai asdfghjk its okkk i'm sorry if this is awkward too ; o ; asdfghsa i love maddy though hglugh he is too cute ok 8 x 8 <333 AND EVERYTHING YOU WRITE IS ACCEPTABLE AND LOVELY

The heat of Makoto's body against him was strange, stifling, but Maddy held his resolve. His fingers gripped into the other's hair, pulling him down even as the demon pressed closer, fingers sinking through bloody locks as they curled round Makoto's own neck. Stroking his scalp much the way one might relax a dog behind the ears.
It was awkward being this close, this intimate with another being. Contact was something foreign to him. Granted he knew how to woo the ghouls and boils; in public he held a silver tongue. But underneath it all was a cat disgruntled by the stiff, emotionless motions of business and society. Perhaps in part, that was why he forced himself closer, and allowed the demon to nuzzle against him for as long as this moment would last.
Makoto's voice teased, and an answering purr worked its way again into Maddy's throat as his teeth and lips at last found the demon's ear. The slightest graze of a tooth, and it began to flick rapidly, eliciting a slightly squeamish sound from between the sputtering purr. His fingers clenched into Makoto's neck, sharp white nails piercing skin ever-so-slightly before they relaxed, flexing against the other's skin, kneading it as if to gain familiarity to the sensation of touch. The inugami was right. It was twisted, how they could never really cease to be. A blessing surely when facing humans, but among their own kind ... "It is a shame ..." he sighed softly, voice barely above a whisper now. "We must seem impervious to those pitiful humans ... but to one another ... what really separates us??" He paused a moment. "The character of the demon, I suppose ... Things one can never physically possess. Manipulate perhaps." He eyed the demon with an almost curious sidelong glance.
Then Makoto raised up, and the maddened sun shone from the depths of those eyes again. Maddy only knew of greys, black, whites. He had been raised in a monotone world, a world cold and stark, a world emotionless and structured. He didn't yet know where or how to obtain this world of color that Makoto sought. But strangely enough, there almost seemed to be a color in the dog already. He was clearly the cat's opposite, even at a physical glance. His presence in a room, and his actions already only proved that to Maddy. Maybe the colorful world he had been seeking all along, was in fact right under his nose.
But Maddy knew better than to speak such a thing, to a demon so mercurial already. He kept the thought secretly to himself, for now. Even as Makoto's own fingers wrapped into his asymmetrical dark locks, forcing him back with a coy playfulness. And before the cait sith could even form a protest, he found himself pressed fully back to the bed. The boil was so much broader, making Maddy seem more a fluffy dark perch if anything. Which was likely true. Wordlessly, Maddy wove his fingers through the demon's hair again, letting his hands fall slowly across the boil's shoulders. His nails raked against the skin there almost pleasantly, the purr still warm and gentle in his throat, like a background lullaby. "Then you are welcome anytime." A faint grin crossed the cat's lips.keiifuu ksdflsdf Kupu your posts are adorable and totally acceptable too ;v; I love them okay <3

What was awkward to Maddy was merely a convenience for Makoto, a pleasurable space to occupy that kept him warm and content. But he did not deny that he was endlessly fascinated by the sounds the other made, the soft purr that seemed trapped within his companions smaller body, echoing out for only him to hear. He could not deny himself the intrigue, the hunger that he gained from every word that Maddy gave him. And there was a simple understanding there, inside of Makoto, that seemed so very familiar to him, and at the same time entirely new.
I want to possess him.
It was a harrowing thought. The things that Makoto had actual interest in owning were seldom kept in prime condition apart from their protection from others (Inugamis were, after all, very good at being guard dogs when the time called for it), and for once, the demon himself was not so sure he wanted to rip into this body below his. Ah, but it was a matter for another time. A trivial, small little thought inside his head. (Or so he convinced himself.) He growled against Maddy's skin, nuzzling into the warmth presented and giving a soft sound of doggish content. "Tenacity. Status. Power. We distinguish ourselves by what we are born into, what we claim, and what we let ourselves lose. A demon is a sum of his background and his own makings." He laughed, heartlessly, pressing his lips against the pulse that beat beneath the cats skin. "We are not born equal. We are born unwilling into a status, a role, dictated by a higher hand of tragedy."
He tilted his head, his eyes half-opening, a burnt amber gold. "We are not like others, us demons. We are cruel and ruthless. Someone once told me, there is nothing else you can be." He growled out as the other dug his nails into his neck, but it seemed almost a sound of pleasure, and besides a twitch of his tail, he barely seemed to mind. When they shifted so that Makoto was fully over Maddy, pressing him back against the bed, he allowed himself the simple moment of taking in the sight, and scent, the sound of the cats purrs. It was nearly intoxicating. Nearly suffocating.
He settled against him, a weight that wasn't oppressive but simply there. He nuzzled against the soft exposed skin just beneath Maddy's jawline, growing in pleasure at the hands against his skin. "Ah." He murmured in a soft, elegant tone, low enough that it seemed a whisper and yet filled the space. "I imagine the favor can be returned. If you ever find yourself within the distance of my own room." The words almost seemed simply there as a response, and Makoto closed his eyes, inhaling the sharp, sweet scent of the cat.
"Hmmm. And yet here I thought I infuriated you." He teased quietly, his lips moving against Maddy's skin. "What an odd twist of events." His tail ghosted back and forth as though wagging, swaying in tandem with the beat of their breaths.
What an odd twist of events indeed. But Makoto could not say he minded them in the least. No, not at all.xoxomenai asdfghj q____q no i love yours more ok just maddy is so cute screams quietly
