Swimming from here and there he seemed in a hurry to get to something yet it appeared he would stop to sniff and inspect various underwater plants. Since his conversation with another Nova he'd become intent on finding a purpose, exploring and finding his purpose in this new world. Gale had fallen he knew this, but he hadn't very many memories of his life before, or even what he'd been. This new world was a new start for him to re-discover himself maybe in the process he'd even get some of his memory back, who know?

Lyria was floating, turning in circles, head over tails, next to a large patch of seaweed. This was a good place to forge for food. She loved the plants of the sea, but sometimes, there was nothing like a good fish. She blew some bubbles, watching them float away. She giggled at them. She had just come to this area, and hadn't found a suitable haven to call home in these waters, and so stayed close to this place, her favorite spot so far. She sighed as she remembered her wanderings, feeling as lonely as ever before. She had no memory of anything before she had come out of the mouth of, what she called, the Deep River that emptied into the vast sea. For all her apparent "ditziness", she could remember how she got to places, and how to return to them
Having no idea the names for any of these plants, or the little creatures that scurried or swam around him he was entirely content going about his adventure. Green one, pale yellow one ooooooh now what was that beautiful reef looking multiple hue object that seemed completely at ease in the water? In his haste he came across the beautiful flowing teals and purples thinking it was another sea plant he swims directly at it and leans in to investigate, looking it over and even giving it a quick sniff. Unknown that it was in fact attached to another Nova and there was probably a whole barrel of smacks and misunderstanding to come.

Lyria suddenly stiffened and grew serious. Something was not exactly wrong, but she knew that another was near. She turned quickly, ready to fight her way out if she needed. She came face to face with a gray nova with green eyes. Her sense of alarm fell, but she still kept up her wariness. "Who are you?" she asked trying not to sound too defensive. She had learned to trust her instincts out here on her own, and so didn't take meeting strangers who sneak up on people lightly.
As soon as he'd sniffed he felt a looming sense of wrongness, then as his gaze shifted he met the beaming yellow eyes of the Nova. Pushing his weight backwards he felt despair over come him, how dare he! He had no right acting like that but he had honestly thought her tail to be another interesting plant... oh this was a new situation for him indeed! "My deepest of apologizes! I was not aware the beautiful colours where in fact a tail... It's no excuse I know." He let out a sigh she was beautiful but not in the same way the black dreamer he had met had been. The other, the he that he hadn't actually exchanged names with, the one who had driven him with his encouraging words to find his purpose in the world. "I am Gale, and I really am sorry.... I'll leave now and try to forget I could be so careless." He hung his head, what else was he to say?

Lyria blinked. She let her wall of caution drop some more. This, Gale person, seemed repetant for something he thought he did... about her tail?
Lyria smiled at him feeling a little more relaxed. She chuckled and said, "You thought my tail was a plant?" She giggled a little and looked at her tail, "Well, it does look like it might be a plant since I was in this kelp forest."
She looked at the horse and smiled in welcome. "Please don't leave." she chuckled again and said, "My name is Lyria, and since I am traveling alone, I must take precautions about my safety." She felt a small shudder go through her as she remembered the close brushes with trouble she had. She smiled again at Gale and reached out a hoof in greeting, "Please don't think anything of it. I love making new friends..."
She hoped the new comer would stay. She really did like making new friends.
Turning to leave it was only her words that kept him from fleeing from embarrassment, plus regardless of his memory he knew it bad manners to walk or swim as it were, away when someone was talking, especially a female for some reason. With a slow an ashamed nod he confirmed he had indeed thought her tail to be a beautifully unique plant now he knew the truth it made sense, though perhaps there was a plant out there of those colours? He had no idea!
"Oh I'm ever so relieved, thank you for your understanding Lyria." He felt a small smile come to his face, usually he wasn't one for small talk but given the situation he was just plain relieved he wasn't getting smacked... or worse.
With a nod he also looked a little surprised, safety ahhh yes he should have caution too shouldn't he? He hadn't really considered it which lead his curiosity to ask "If you wish me to stay I shall, apologizes again if I over step the boundary here but precautions? I'm curious as I've not long fallen and haven't come across such need.... yet."

Lyria giggled, "No need to apologize, it was a mistake." She could understand mistakes between people who just met.
She grew sad and a bit lonely as he mentioned precautions and having fallen.
"I fell a long while ago. I guess. I just woke one day at the mouth of the Deep River, and had no family." She looked up at the blurry sunlight that was coming though the water. "I left because I felt restless, something that could be from before my fall. But I have met different Nova's from around the sea, and not all are kind." She looked back at Gale and smiled, "Also, there are dangers in this sea as well..." She sighed and smiled gently, "I join herds and then leave, never really finding my place.... I guess I will wander till I find the right place and person."
"I see" and he did, why would it be a strange notion of their being bad Nova's there were good ones he had as of yet met two... good usually came with bad didn't it? His mind was still forming opinions and thoughts on so many different aspects of life, he found himself lost for hours considering this or that with not much result in the end. It was these encounters that helped him settle what was right, or possible and what he could find out more about.
"I travel too, well I just started" He nodded, he hadn't been at it long but wanted to explore and see all the world had to offer! "Do you feel you have purpose in your life?" It was a bit of an odd question to ask but it had become important to him to discover his own, perhaps finding out others would help?

"A purpose?" Lyria pondered that for a moment. She then smiled and said, "Right now, my purpose is to just be me, and hope it's good enough." She thought about that answer some more and nodded vigorously, "I have no reason at the moment to be other than who I am, and who I am likes to see the world.... er, at least what I can see from the water." She tilted her head thoughtfully looking at Gale, "When I am in a herd, I set out to do what I can for them... I guess my purpose then is to help the herd." She thought for another moment and liked that answer. "Yup," she said smiling and nodding again, "that's being me I guess!" She felt no ill will from this Nova. Though she lived life carefully, she knew that not all Stars, Nova or other wise, were mean and evil. She smiled what she thought was her biggest and brightest smile at the new Nova. "I also like to try to get people to smile." she said feeling a little embarrassed, feeling the heat crawl slowly up her neck. "I just think people should smile more."
She looked at Gail slowly, an idea forming.
"Perhaps we can travel together for a while!" She blurted out. She closed her mouth quickly. She had a bad habit of saying things out loud. cat_redface
Thinking about her words she pondered the idea of being himself. So far he guessed he was to the best of his ability, but it's hard to just be when you can't really remember what that is. "I like that." He nodded "It's a good purpose, being true to you." He could strive for that couldn't he? He figured he wasn't intentionally trying to be anyone else just what he knew of himself so far.
The corners of his mouth was just starting to tug at a smile, it was nice to hear uncensored honesty for another. There was no hidden agenda here, there couldn't be and she was sweet despite her already shared past full of sorrow. It gave him food for thought, he couldn't remember so much but perhaps he should work on being more upbeat? "Together? I don't see why not, better to have..."
SPLASH
A shadow seemed to be approaching on top of the water, several pairs of Nova feet swimming along as the entire scene around them shook with the force of impact. The impact of someone or something entering the water very rapidly and judging by the unclear brown and black object moving towards them was sinking fast.
Magali tried to paddle, kicked her feet manically but she was sinking and far too fast to righten. Panic was starting to settle in as she went to call for one of the Nova's of her herd to help but instead found her mouth filled with water.
"company." He finished as he squinted up at the falling form, at first he was unsure as to what it was but as it travelled down and towards him he cottoned on that it was flailing. It didn't have a tail but if it was flailing and only sinking surely it did not belong among them, so he started up to investigate.

At the sound of the splash above them, Lyria looked up. She tilted her head in study of the form above. She saw the legs, and remembered her friend Oota as she had appeared in the water when she was swimming. Something nagged in her heart, and she knew by the way the object's legs were moving that it was not swimming. It was, in fact, sinking. Fast.
Lyria quickly went into the kelp forest nearby and searched for the right type of plant. She found a cluster of the strong plant and ripped it out near the bottom, so she could have as much length as possible.
As she swam up to the sinking shape she looked over at Gale pleadingly. She placed the strong kelp in her hooves, and said, "Whatever, or whoever that is, we need to get to it fast!" She nodded at the kelp, "We can work with this!"
For the moment he'd forgotten about Lyria only the urgency that was building to reach the thing and wither deny or confirm his fears. Being an agile swimmer he was up there before his new companion returned and indeed confirmed the form was another star, unlike any he'd met before. This one had four legs with natural colourings, in the water it seemed to be loosing stamina but he didn't need to think to know what to do.
Coming up under the star he pushed up, swam with all his might to compensate for the extra weight. Just as he'd started he heard Lyrias words and nodded grabbing the kelp in his mouth and bringing it under the unknown horse almost like a net. Then he swam up and could feel the ease sharing the weight and burden with his new acquaintance. Swimming, she could swim why wasn't her legs working, no matter how hard she pushed and flailed she wasn't moving back up and the light of the surface was growing further and further away. Magali wanted to growl in frustration to throw curses around but her mouth was already filled with water and in her panic and she was starting to get a stabbing pain in her chest. Frickin' stupid sea snails the ocean she loved so much was playing a cruel trick and it wanted her she could feel a tug as she feared it wasn't just the density of the water that was making her vision hazy....
And then the light started to come closer again and she was feeling pissed off at her situation rather than sorry for herself. Mag lived at sea, did she have to die at it too? Then they broke the surface and the teen came back to reality, blinking and spluttering trying to clear her air waves to take a big gasp of breath then resulted in far too much coughing then her chest liked.

Lyria moved close to the smallish star and nudged herself under a front leg and it's body so she could act as a float. She dropped the kelp, and smiled comfortingly at the Star as they began to breath again.
"Take it easy..." Lyria soothed and encouraged, "Breath deep... You are going to be all right."
Spitting out the kelp to the side he focused on the smaller star with four legs, this was his first encounter with a non Nova star and he was taking in her appearance. Similar to his but no tail, so what was she doing in the water? Or even out at sea? What would of happened if he hadn't met Lyria or they'd been at this point in time. Suppressing a shiver he leaned around to see the new stars face and asked "Are you ok?" He knew as soon as he said it, a gut feeling that it was an awful thing to say, of course it probably wasn't, if it didn't have a tail it probably couldn't breath and had indeed been drowning. Huh it occurred to him then that he had a notion of drowning, life that was not bound to the sea... interesting thought to explore later. "Frickin' frackin' sea slugs!" Were the first words to burst out as her air ways cleared enough to speak. "So much for swimmin'!" Magali let out a snort, didn't seem like it would take her long to recover, and that she had perhaps experienced water in her mouth before. Beginning to recover she remembered her legs and began to kick to keep her floating looking to the female she let out a "Phft, am good." Then turning she caught Gales face and felt her heart aflutter "Oh 'Ello there! T'is all good no worries, what a time for me legs to quit listenin' eh?"
