If the Hagspawn had ever had a question of how many bags his sister required to function for a term at school he never asked it. It was a moot issue anyway, as he had just finished loading them into her room and he dusted himself off, looking toward Rosmiera with his good eye, the empty socket of his other eye covered by conveniently groomed hair.
"Well, you are all loaded in," the Hagspawn said to the Night Hag, looking around at the yet to be unpacked dorm room. "Did you want me to help unpack or?"
He himself had nothing better to do -really he didn't- all his stuff was already in his own, in his opinion overly large dorm room. He had no idea what he was going to do with all the extra space he had now -but when you spent the majority of your life living in a space that could effectively pass as a broom cupboard.
Well you made adjustments...
"Also, Mother wanted me to make sure you chose classes so I guess I'm supposed to head with you to the admissions office?"
Unless Rosy had another more important task for him to do... or course.

Rosmiera was doing her best to ignore her brother at the moment. For one, he was talking about their mum, and for two, now he was talking about classes. She was far to busy already deciding where things were going to go in her room. Pushing her curls from her face she looks to Darren as she shakes her head at him "No, not right now. Talk to me about it tomorrow." or never as far as she was concerned.
Floating a little off the ground, she turns away from him as she sighs "Don't you have something to do? Anything?" just stop bugging me. She honestly didn't know which was worse, being sent here, or the fact she knew Darren was here to keep track of her. Actually no, she did know, it was the fact her mum didn't trust her. So now she had to figure out how to avoid Darren, while still trying to figure out how to have fun.
Why can't I be at the maul? I'm sure someone has beaten my score at the Scarecade by now.
She found herself groaning on the inside as she made mental note to figure out how to get out of the school as fast as she could. After a moment, she looks to Darren, trying to smile at him.
It wasn't his fault, he was just doing as told.
"Um...if you wanna help me set stuff up. Sure..I could use the help." drifting back down to the ground, she plants her heels on the stone as she place her hand over her necklace "So much for being in the same dorms though? Where did they place you?"

To be entirely honest Darren didn't want to be here either. It wasn't that he disliked being with his sister - quite the contrary, she was one of the nicest people he knew, when they had been with the coven she was probably the closest thing that had amounted to a friend for him. The other Hagspawn were always too busy with their labors to hang out with Darren when he had free time and even when they all had free time they never really hung out because it just wasn't done. The Hags had never seen him as anything more than an extra pair of hands to lift and move heavy things or fetch them their tools and trinkets - well except for Rosy, and he had a feeling that had more to do with the fact she was his sister than anything else. "Okay," he said quietly, before turning to help get her stuff unpacked when she asked. the single word reply had been to both the talking about classes the next day, and helping her set up her dorm. He would be more than happy to do both. The truth was - he wasn't even sure what classes to take himself. He wasn't cut out for education - the fact that he was here at all was because his mother knew he'd report back if Rosy did anything to put herself in danger. "That big house not too far from here, I'm on the ground floor... I tried to get a smaller room, but it was the smallest they had. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all that extra space..." Darren sighed. He owned very little in the way of additional clothing, and most of the nice stuff he kept pristine and already hung in the small closet of his dorm room. The rest of his possessions had easily fit int he room. It wasn't like Hagspawn owned a lot of things...

Pulling her curls up out of her face, Rosmiera plops onto the ground as she pulls things open. She didn't even have a clue where she wanted to begin. When she got to the coven, everything was done for her. This was the first time since becoming part of the coven, she has actually had to do anything for herself.
And yet, she wasn't mad about it.
Placing a couple more items down, she looks to Darren as he spoke. She honestly did feel bad for him, as this was going to be all brand new to him. He wasn't going to have to listen to her much longer, or at least she hope so. He was going to be able to do things on his own, even make friends.
"So your not too far from me then. We'll see each other then." reaching her hand out, she slips it into his as she gives it a squeeze "Are you going to be okay? I mean...this isn't like the coven. You know that right?"
As much as she wanted to strangle Darren sometimes, he was still family.

Darren was very careful squeezing her hand back - he'd learned a long time ago that he was much stronger than his sister, and he could easily hurt her if he wasn't careful. when she expressed her concern he smiled and bowed his head a little. "I'll be okay... I mean, I know this isn't like home - Mother isn't here to tell me what to do, the only person I know is you and we both know I can't read good."A slight hitch in his speech was the only clue that he was about ready to have a panic attack. He was completely ill-equipped to being on his own, to not having someone order him around and tell him what needed to be done. Having all this freedom - all at once - was frightening to the Hagspawn. He was so used to the rigid constructs of Hag society - of being nothing more than another piece of the background, that to be thrust into a place where he had to make decisions on his own, not have them made for him... He wanted to curl up around Rosy's feet and hold on and never let go until she needed something from him - but he knew he couldn't do that. Rosy had been the only Hag in the Coven to treat him even remotely well - and she thanked him almost every time he brought her something. Not even his own mother did that - and she had raised him. Smiling weakly at his sister, he squeezed her hand again and started to help her unpack her things. "I am glad we'll be able to see each other often..." another hitch in his tone was evident as he spoke. "I don't know how well I am gonna be able to adjust - but at least I am close if you need anything..."

Rosmiera wasn't sure what she was going to do with Darren now. Instead, she just gives him a smile before she looks over everything that was on the floor in front of her. She had an idea, she just wasn't sure where to start first.
Lifting her eyes, she scans the room before pauses at the little altar right by the wardrobe. That would be perfect for the one thing she had to keep safe beside her heartstone. Standing slowly, she lefts the book as well as the small bag off the ground "Darren, think you could place my clothes away? Unless you want to relax, then by all means, please do." placing the book down on the altar, she looks over the cover for a moment. Her fingers running over the title for a moment.
The only reason she even had the book was at her mum's request. If she had it her way, she wouldn't have brought it to the school. Setting the small bag down next to it, she turns back to Darren as she nods "Remind me to take you to the maul. I think its high time we get you some stuff for that room, and yourself."

Darren nodded, "Of course, Rosy," he murmured, and without any complaint, began to unpack, unfold, refold and carefully place her clothes into her new wardrobe and dresser, hanging articles of clothing that needed to be hung, checking each piece for damage and setting aside the ones that looked like they were in need of repair or a good washing to take back to his dorm and work on them. Darren wouldn't even know what to do if he wasn't working on something - the word relax was a four letter word to him, and when Rosy spoke it he shuddered, shaking his head. He was fine with putting her clothing away - he was fine with anything she needed him to do. When she mentioned taking him to the maul to get him things for his room and himself, he stopped dead in his tracks and stared at her like he had just been hit by headlights. "Why?" Darren voiced weakly. "I wouldn't know what to do with anything more than what I already own." Which was all of a single mini-pet and the clothes he was wearing and what few spares were packed in his room. "It's not like I could take any of it home..."

Arching a brow at Darren, she simply shakes her head as she float over to him "Forget about that jacking Coven okay? We're here, and I doubt either of us are returning to the coven anytime soon." placing her hands on her hips, she looks down at him as she frowns a little "And we're getting you things, simply because I'm not always going to be around Darren. I'm not always going to need your help." she knew it was harsh, but he needed to hear this from her.
Sighing, she kneels down to sit next to him "Just, learn to be yourself please. For me?" she didn't say anything more on the matter as she picked up an article of clothing to fold it in her lap.
After a minute, she glance towards the minipets that were roaming her room. her eyes falling to the large nantang with yellow markings. He did have fun playing with her pets, so why not?
Nudging Darren, she nods towards the minipet "Why don't you take him with you? And before you say anything, no is not an option." she chuckles before trying to put on a serious face, which for her, failed.

Darren winced when Rosy started cussing about the coven. To be fair he couldn't really blame her - even being the golden child of the coven she hadn't really taken to the tasks set by her mother, which was why they were both here in the first place. She had a point - this was probably the only chance he had to better himself, and he shouldn't waste it. All the same, it hurt to know that she wouldn't need his help one day. Darren was so reliant on having other people telling him what to do, he had forgotten what it was like to be able to chose what you wanted to do. Though for the last long while he'd been following Rosy's lead. Shaking his head he smiled at her. "I'll take him, he can play with Skitters while I'm in class..." He smiled eying the yellow nantang. "I know you're not always going to need my help Rosy." He smiled at his sister. "But I'm always going to be available to give it to you."

Rosmiera looks to her brother rather shocked for a moment, before her features soften. Carefully, she wraps her arms around his neck as she hugs him close for a moment "So long as its just to talk, or just to hang out. Then that is fine, but if its to actually do something like clean. Then no, from this moment, I'm doing things for myself. As are you, okay?" she was serious on this matter, and nothing was changing her mind on it.
Pulling back, she smiles to the nantangs then to the other minipets around her room. Himi was asleep on her bed, which wasn't a surprise in the least. Wei was watching them, as was the other nantang. Even around her own brother, Wei was cautious, but she love that about her companion.
Her newest companions, Shli, Henko, and Hikai were just roaming their new home. She wasn't sure where they came from, she just found them one morning, right outside the coven. And they just took to her instantly, so she kept them.
Turning back to Darren, she chuckles as she nudges him "So what are you going to name your new companion?"

Darren hugged his sister tight when she hugged him, and as she let go it took all of his will to force his muscles to let her go so she could pull away. He needed the comfort but at the same time, he knew he wasn't going to be able to use her as a crutch. He was going to have to cope on his own - not that he wasn't used to being on his own... or alone... but... Too much space, too much change - not enough direction - all at once! It was heady and it made his stomach flip and tie into knots and sometimes he thought he was going to be sick but he couldn't. He just wanted to go home... But his mother had made it clear as all get out that under no circumstances was he not going to not keep his eye on Rosy. Darren always listened to his Mother - to do otherwise would only cause problems he didn't want to have. Shaking his head at her statement he smiled weakly. "Fine, I can agree to that - but if this place starts looking like a sty I will come in and clean. Don't think I won't." He chuckled and followed her eyes around the room, grunting a little from the nudge before returning one to Rosy in return. "Fang," Darren smirked. He was not... the most creative when it came to pet names. Since his other pet, Skitters, was named for the sound his legs made on the stone of their floor at home.

Rosmiera couldn't help but roll her eyes at Darren after he pretty much said he would be cleaning her room if it ended up a mess. She didn't like messes herself, so he really didn't have to worry about that. With a small nod, she sticks her tongue at him before she chuckles at the name he given to his newest companion.
To her, it was the perfect name as Darren was pretty simple when it came to things. So Fang worked for the nantang. She wouldn't admit it out loud, but she was going to miss it. Thought, she knew she be able to see it whenever she wanted, so really it wasn't like she was losing a companion. He was just gonna help her brother get use to his new life.
Looking around her room, she stood slowly as she pulls her curls up into a ponytail "Alright, so clothing is in the wardrobe, as well as the dresser. Now the rest of it just needs to be put away and I think were good." grabbing her supplies for her bathroom, she walks over to put most of that away herself.
"Darren, why don't you play with the minipets? I'll be alright with putting the rest of this stuff away."

Darren nodded slowly, getting up and moving over to her assortment of minipets with a half grin. Most of them knew him - and by extension Skitters. Rosy had, after all, kept the pet as one of "hers" while secretly letting Darren care for and raise it. The fact that she was giving him one of her most prized pets - Darren knew Rosy did not part with her charges easily, was a great honor to him, and one he would cherish for the rest of his days.
Which is why he didn't fight with her when she suggested he play with them. If anything it would keep them out of her hair while she finished setting up - and he was more than happy to let her have some responsibility on her own. It was her room - and she wasn't going to grow if he kept holding her hand right?
Growling at the minis he crouched low and patted the floor. The minis knew they could play rough with him, not like with Rosy. He had earned a fair share of bites and scratches that way - but he was resilient, he didn't mind getting scraped up.
"Come here, come on," he coaxed the pets, patting the floor in front of him. "Who wants to play, eh?"

Rosy smiles as she watch her brother head over to her minipets, rather glad he was gonna allow her to do this on her own. Turning away, she goes about placing the last few items she owns where she wanted them. Her couple of pillows and blankets she wanted went on the bed. Above it went a random picture of the lake just outside her home. It wasn't special, it was just something she snapped and decided would look good as wall art. So there it was, once again above her bed like it had been at home.
Looking around, she was actually quite pleased with how her room turned out.She didn't have much with her, but she figure as her time here at the academy went on, she just add stuff to her room. Dropping down onto her bed, she falls back onto it with a small sigh. The only thing that would make this perfect, were if she had her best friend here.
Glancing back over to her brother, she smirks as she see both nantangs step forward towards Darren. Wei, who would have normally attack, stood back to allow Fang to play this go round.

Darren had always been the more rowdy of the two siblings when it came to the minipets, which worked since it enabled him to wear them down so they didn't cause havoc and thus didn't break things or tear stuff up. So he was ready for when Fang charged him, and he caught the Nantang and rolled with it as it growled and nipped at him. They tussled on the ground, rolling and wrestling a bit in the open area of the floor - as Darren wanted to keep the "fighting" contained to a small section of the room, so rosy wouldn't have to worry about him breaking anything. After a few minutes of nipping at Darren, Fang slipped away and back over to Wei, panting and laying down. Darren chuckled and sat up, moving over to his hat which had fallen and picked it up, flopping it back onto his head as he went to go join Rosy by sitting on the edge of her bed. "Thanks..." he said as he sat down. "For everything, sis."
